I'm hoping this move to WWII signifys a reboot in the core gameplay and modes.

I am so sick and tired of the same Campaign, Zombies, and Multiplayer format these games have developed. Call of Duty as a package use to be full of surprises, now it's just yearly comfort food. I know the biggest video game franchise in the world needs to play it safe it some areas, but these games have become so stagnant in what they feature.

Well im out, by the posts, It looks Like its confirmed to be an American unity in normandy, talk about cliche

I'm tired of this same story, (not in games) but media in general, movies, tv shows, books its a oversaturation of normandy and US army in ww2

Well i Hope the game is good, see ya space cowboys

You do realize that Call of Duty often switches between different sides and perspectives right? The World War II Call of Duty games often showed the conflict from the American, British, and Russian sides of the war.

The special places in my heart surrounding WWII is the Pacific Theater. Give me that. That's what I want.
I'm tired as hell of the Euro theater. It wasn't even nearly as crazy.

I'd cry if I was IW,
amazing campaign came too late meanwhile its MP was the 3rd year of the same dumb shit.

People cheering Sledgehammer, they are the ones that started that shit which sucked from the start.

If I was IW I'd want to take the Infinite Warfare series and spin it off. Take the fighter mechanics to Wing Commander or Freespace 2 levels, add RPG elements but keep the shooting. Give you the choice each mission to fight on the ground or in the air/space. Set it in a larger universe with aliens or something. You could beat Star Citizen to the punch and have a new series.

But Activision gonna Activision. I'll be skipping this new CoD, I actually liked the futuristic settings.

Judging from the SSI [Shoulder Sleeve Insignia], the men are from the 1st Infantry Division ["Big Red One/The Fighting First"].

They were a very famous infantry unit during World War II that carried out various important tasks and are the stuff of combat legend. There's even a movie about them called "The Big Red One" with Harrison Ford and Robert Shaw. Here's a link below to give you a quick rundown of who they were - it might also shed some light on the path that the game's narrative might take:

I was so sick of WW2 back then, but now I can't wait for this. Strange.

Slightly offtopic, but how good was the aiming in COD 2 on Xbox 360? Was it different to their famous acceleration curve from Modern Warfare and everything after that? I played it only on pc.

I'm trying to find out when did they invent their "perfect aiming on sticks" formula.

Thanx.

Why reference a movie when you can reference the game? ;)

If there is a god, please let that co-op mode be some kind of WWII spec ops mode. Give the zombies a break Activision.
I'm getting the weirdest feeling that we're not going to get a remastered title this year. Would love to be proven wrong though.
If it hasn't been leaked by now, then we are not getting one this year. I think Activision is very confident with this one being set in WWII. Putting MWR with IW was just a lack in confidence in that game's MP. Which unfortunately overshadowed how good the campaign was.

I have a feeling that they might remaster Black Ops 1 or WAW next year with Treyarch's next COD game, but only if they are making Black Ops 4. We got no idea if Treyarch managed to get out of the future setting, so Activision might want to play their cards carefully.

Probably not. I mean with IW, regardless of the real reason, worked with MW as the 'legacy edition' because 1. They were both developed by IW, 2. Both had Warfare in their names which created a connection, and 3. (A lot less known) is that IW is in the same timeline as Modern Warfare, hence the Legacy also working for that.

But with Sledgehammer the only game they worked on before AW was MW3 and that wasn't a solo effort. They wouldn't remaster W@W cause that's Treyarchs and the same setting and MW2 wouldn't make sense either since it wouldn't be "Legacy."

Odds are there will be no Remaster this year.
