Oh lord, I didn't know Dragon's Trap was getting a physical release! I'm putting a preorder right away on Play Asia. If LRG is doing it as well, it's sort of a similar situation like Ys Origin and that's... kind of strange from a business point of view, but I'll probably get their release as well.

I'm happy Play Asia isn't the only one getting Ys Origin. I placed an order from them back in late Dec and still haven't got it. Every time I email them about it they just keep making excuses and tell me to keep waiting, never ordering anything from them again.

Sounds about right. Really hope some of these ventures work out for them in the end because of that (especially Ys Origin with it's huge print number), because I personally don't see a point in LRG doing a print when Asia is also doing one, unless there's significant dlc (even that is stretching it depending on just how significant) or something that people would be missing out on. Prices will be the same (sometimes better due to PlayAsia having free shipping/discount codes), the boxart is the same, you can still download all patches no matter what region you're in, there's really just no reason.

Play-Asia only has the PS4 version though.

Maybe LRG is doing a Switch version. I sure do hope so. :P

Disagree utterly and completely.

I don't want dinky inconsistent games from different regions and language printing on the box.

Honest question, have you seen what most Asian English copies of games look like? Because I can look at my copies of Cyber Sleuth, Firefly Diary, Dragon Quest Builders and Soul Sacrifice Delta and their covers look identical to what we would get from LRG, which is just not having a rating on them and having "Region 3" on the back, rather than "Region all". All text on the boxes is in English, while all text ingame is the exact same between those versions and what we get in the West.

Yup, very hard to tell the difference between an Asian English release and an American release.

I don't understand what's strange from a business point of view? Every major game gets a release in all territories and eventually it will just move more copies. There are people who don't know LRG and there are people who don't know PA. For the developer it's definitely the best solution and I don't think LRG needs to worry about exclusivity either as they are pretty much guaranteed to shift a certain number of copies, especially when talking about high profile games.

For customers it's great too as they will have more flexibility and don't need to worry so much about a game selling out too quickly.

Trap? Killer? Come through, DetectiveGAF!

A new title? If so, PS4/vita?

The likelihood of many new games being on Vita anymore is slim unfortunately.

Development on the platform is slowing down pretty severely to where we are mostly restricted to back catalog stuff on Vita.

Sounds like they don't have many new upcoming announcements for Vita.

Is this Wonder Boy/Monster Boy game the one they'd been hinting at doing a Vita release of or not?

Maybe LRG is doing a Switch version. I sure do hope so. :P

I'd be surprised, as of last month they didn't seem to have any connections to Nintendo and indicated they wanted to get into physical Switch publishing but hadn't made any inroads with it yet. It'd be impressive if they'd gone from that to suddenly publishing within a month lol.

It's a strange one. I want to support LRG, but if their release will end up costing more anyway; then shipping costs noticeably more and there's no discount vouchers for me to use, I'll end up going for P-A. I mean, I like P-A but I love what LRG, but I can't justify the extra cost.

Ys Origin is £20 for me from Play-Asia atm. I'm assuming it's going to be at least $40 if not $55 from LRG =/

Name a japanese Vita exclusive that you'd like for Limited Run Games to bring before the Vita is dead.

Here's mine. It was released last year on Steam and it was my 2016 GOTY, one of the best stories you'll ever find in a video game. The Vita port was released in Japan last month and it'd be criminal for a platform well-known for visual novels never to get one of the absolute best ever made.

I sent Josh information about this one not long ago on Twitter and I hope he can contact Dramatic Create and Novectacle.

Sayonara Umihara Kawase. Not an exclusive but hey, neither is yours.

Would buy a switch version of Dragon's Trap as well, but I'm buying the PS4 one for sure.

Great game. Should come with a map, and get a soundtrack release (remake and original!) :)

If I could have absolutely anything? Ukiyo no Roushi. I already own a Japanese copy and I love the open world - combat is fun too, but using Google Translate & the online guide to follow the plot is a pain.

If I was picking something realistic? Neo Atlas 1469. Already translated by Arc System Works; already released in Japan on Vita. LRG would just have to figure something out with Artdink/ASW and we'd be flying.

Saw this on CAG. So the back of the box is not hole punched, meaning that it wasn't a Sony HQ copy. I know that LRG has given out titles to Youtube people ahead of time before, so maybe this is one of those cases and the person decided to just cash in on it instead?

Posted this in the BST thread too if anyone's interested.

Limited Run Games, new/sealed, all for PS4, will include post card that came with each game

Dragon Fantasy: The Black Tome of Ice - $35 shipped
One Way Heroics - $25 shipped
Thomas Was Alone - $20 shipped

Or $70 shipped for all three.

Retweet for great justice.

This mock-up already looks amazing.

I could easily see a limited collectors edition doing better than the Japanese release which only sold around 1600 units at retail FW. Hope a publisher bites and they can sort out the rights, a localized Vita version really needs to happen!

I had a little hope that SOEDESCO releasing North American XB1 games for the first time (World to the West and Rogue Stormers) was a sign things were improving on the MS side for everyone. Shame to see that isn't the case.

Thank you. Novectacle and Keika Hanada (the writer) have retweeted it; the ball's in publishers' courts now! And we all know there are...perhaps three that would consider it. *Cough*.

On Novectacle's ask page, they mentioned that it's up to Dramatic Create at this point, as they're "co-owners" of the Vita port and additional content.

They also sold Nova-111 for $64.
Technically, it would have garnered more profit if they weren't already freebies being sold.

Yep. It would require a license from Manga Gamer for their script, a deal with HuneX (dramatic create), and Novectacle. As far as I know, none of HuneX's Vita games have ever been released in the west, so it would be an undertaking all right.

However, the publisher that opened that door would then conceivably be able to release OZMAFIA!! on Vita as well...and possibly even Fate/realta nua.

Hint hint?

Not only those, but there are other visual novels released in the West with Vita ports made by them. Regarding the script, maybe Novectacle owns it. With Steins;Gate, 5pb owned JAST USA's script, which was then used by PQube for the PS3 and Vita releases.

Guys, you're blowing my mind here. I would pay good money for this game on Vita (I'm assuming it's as good as everyone makes out, but Shiz's tastes tend to align with mine so I'm quite happy it will be).

Can't believe there's actually a chance of this one happening.

Didn't know that Game and looks very promising (and 100% positives on steam) Hope they release it.

Trust me when I say you'd LOVE it. It's groundbreaking in the ways it handles sensitive subjects.

I do too, it's considered the overall 2016 GOTY on the VN thread.
