Jack is back?

I slept the fuck through Toonami this week, so I had to catch up on the shows I missed.

So far I've seen:
Samurai Jack: worst episode of the season thus far (IMO), but still a solid B+, which really reinforces how strong this show is. Great character moments, and it'll totally work as a relaxing episode before the more tense final four, I think.

Attack on Titan: Good first episode. Animation was pretty great, though nothing was too surprising since I've seen the manga already. Can't wait for the next episode.

HxH: AKA Antiques Roadshow/Pawn Stars the anime. Man they went into an unnecessary amount of detail over a pretty insignificant (or so it seemed to me) part of the plot. Though I have a feeling that's a reoccurring theme in this series. Gon and Killua's plot arc right now is quite a bit more boring than Kapurica's, especially after last episode. Though that's to be expected. Still a decent episode.

Tokyo Ghoul: WTF did I just watch. This show varies between a average/below average anime with a bit too much edge, to an unintentionally hilarious shitfest. This anime was definitely the latter. I swear to god, I thought the last 5 minutes were a drugged up dream, because nobody acts like that in real life. Still stupid and funny as shit though. There were parts that were trying to be either serious or unnerving as fuck but just came off hammy as shit, and I ended up bursting out laughing. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't even bother with this show.

I still have to watch GitS:SAC, Unicorn, and Kai. I have no interest in this weeks Super, but I'll check it out if I have time.

What else would one expect from Hunter x Hunter?

The HxH anime actually cut down on the amount of detail Togashi went into things like haggling and what not in the manga.

Which while better for pacing also made some things more confusing like certain nen abilities

Nen is basically just another name for a person's spirit energy, so Ki or Aura or whatever, its all the general same idea. Everyone has it even if they never even heard of Nen before and can access it to some extent. The reason certain master artisan's have Nen in the things they've created despite not even knowing it existed, let alone being able to use it, is because they quite almost quite literally put everything they had into that piece of work by the very nature of their life and craft. So instead of blood sweat and tears, think of it more like them putting their Nen, sweat and tears into a piece of art.

I understand all that everything till now is the easy part is when we get to that arc that people get confused by nen abilities

There is a fight the anime won't cover because it happens after the show ended that had quite possibly the most confusing combination of Nen abilities, Nen contracts and so on.

you can usually figure out a complex nen power by sitting down and working through how it works, if you're a nerd
like me

I'm still trying to figure out what you don't watch. I think I've ran into you on pretty much my favorite anime threads minus anything Macross related and the Gundam threads.
Which fight are we talking about
is it the Chrollo and Hisoka one, i want to see people's reaction Josuke's Stand Nen ability
Yes that fight.
Josuke's stand is probably one of the simpler stands in that arc to be honest.

I still don't think i get it
By Josuke i mean Knuckles

I know, he posts in the My Hero Academia thread.

we briefly considered titling the Season 2 thread "Even Veelk loves it!"
Yeah I need to get on that at some point, dude even likes Kill La Kill, which is pretty much why I don't value the criticisms of people that don't like it. Even the dude that can write a textbook about why he hates God of War can enjoy Kill La Kill.

I wouldn't call it a Batman Gundam per se, just he wears a black suit, is all.

I mean, Roger Smith is a Bruce Wayne type in an aesthetically similar world with a character design that's pretty close to the Batman show Sunrise themselves worked on, and his robot essentially serves a similar function to a batsuit.

"Batman Gundam" perhaps creates different expectations when it's called that but the inspiration is all over the place.

Also I've never been sure of why so many people want season 3 of Big O tbh. It ends with a presumption that things will continue but that was basically the idea of the show; it's a perfectly acceptable closer and the only thing that's really missing is more standalone episodes. Story-wise it's complete.
