They said there were two people in the car, right? Do we know if the passenger is/was in on this carjacking? Hope they didn't just potentially shoot an innocent person.

He turned the car around and started driving right at the cops. Can't blame them if they did shoot. Also props to KTLA for being the only one of the 3 not requiring Flash.

wow unscathed. Hope then it's the same for any passengers.
edit: WELP nevermind on that. Dude crawled over the driver

So last week I learned that 18% of these end up in the guy getting away... seemed like decent odds for the runner, but what number end up like this?

Unless the guy was armed or something, they shouldn't have killed the guy immediately.

edit: WHAT? How the hell did he survive all these shots? Ok. Wasn't the driver who survived.

A vehicle can be used as a weapon, too, you know. Especially when you drive it through neighbourhoods at high speeds. I'd say taking a shot and stopping the chase at all costs when you get the chance is preferable over him hitting another car or a pedestrian or something.

Why did they shoot? The situation was under control?

Not yet it wasn't. Driver was cornered and attempting to go off-road around police blockade. Expected tires shot or another car to try to block that attempt instead of unloading shots. Still, guy was reckless, and in minutes the country would be out in public taking kids to school and leaving for work, this guy was rampaging through that with a dangerous weapon(his car).

How in the world did the passenger survive that barrage of bullets? Lucky to be alive.
