New ‘Star Trek’ Movie In Works At Paramount - Not Connected to Any Previous or Current TV or Movies

Reboot TNG. It was the best ST has ever been.

My cast.

Eddie Redmayne -JLP
Michael B Jordan - Gordie
Mahershala Ali - Worf
Liam Hemsworth - Riker
Emma Stone - Troi
Danny McBride - Data
Lets be real, Emma Stone would be Doctor Crusher.

Ana de Armas can be Troi :)

Good picks.

Regardless of what crew they pick, or even if it's a new ship with a new crew, I just want Star Trek to be epic again.

Give me the Borg (They actually need a reboot. They look really dated now). Give me a Klingon Bird of Prey ripping into federation ships. I just want a decent Trek film.

100% same. I want someone to come in, remember what made Star Trek great, take inspiration from the first 8 films and first 3 shows and move forward with that in mind. Not whatever this last 2 1/2 decades have been of Star Trek.

I sure do know who I want to see as Seven of Nine. 🤤

As a huge ST fan with the above preferences, what I would LOVE to see from a new show or movie is NOT a "fresh new take" on Star Trek. I'm totally fine with a new crew and a ship other than the Enterprise, in fact I'd love to see that, BUT keep it set in the classic/TNG ST universe. That means with those races, those ship designs, that level of tech, that style of personalities and social levels, etc. While I can enjoy something like SNW it's not true Star Trek to me, but rather some modernized amalgamation of it. . . .
Damn it Mengy, it's like you're me, but less handsome and not Asian.

Who would be Picard? I vote Tom Hardy...
At this time the only youngish one looking good bald and with great acting chops is Hoult.

But it gets trickier if we want someone who's from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School or similar background. I think a classically trained actor and who's done theater, would be able to nail the sense of gravitas demanded by the role of Picard.

He's a great actor, Hoult... but a little too young and shouldn't be bald... My reference to Hardy was a bit of a tongue in cheek joke, but it would actually work because Picard looked older the others (even if Patrick Steward wasn't that much in actuality). That and I think Hardy commits to everything like it's the most important work he'll ever do... so it would be interesting what he would do with being resurrected as Picard (again).

Oh, if you wanted balding and not really bald you should have just said so as I have just the man for the role:

"Counselor Troi, can I get a therapy session with you? I feel...distressed!"

"Sorry, my appointments are booked out for the entire 5 year mission for some reason. And no you can't come to my wedding 'just to watch', why are so many male crewmembers asking??"

I don't know why, but I just didn't buy Hoult as bald, he looks like he would be young enough to have some hair at least. That's a crazy take, I know. What about Barry Keoghan? I like everything that he's done, and he has the look of a young Patrick Stewart.

Although I'm going to commit to my previous suggestion:
