I found the zamasu saga much better in the manga, though I agree there's isn't enough pressure or sense of dange as there's in the anime. But on the manga the plot actually moves on and the events makes more sense. I also like more the fighting sequences on manga with some few exceptions.

Technically he's Goten's Dad.

Zamasu is to Goten what Piccolo is to Gohan.
I don't remember Piccolo ever putting a ki blast through Gohan's head

The Saiyaman episodes leading up to the World Martial Arts tournament might be some of my favorites. There's just some great dynamics between Goten and Gohan that you don't get much of elsewhere in the series. Plus it's GOAT Videl.

Probably happened offscreen, Gohan just got better after a good night's sleep.

I wonder if the Pilaf Gang will go with Goten and Trunks to the island during the tournament. They haven't touched Trunks and Mai's relationship since the last arc and I feel like inevitably they're going to be a couple when we get to end of Z so they should probably touch on that some more.

Anime wise, I think we needed an episode where Goku taught him the Spirit Bomb, but Trunks couldn't manage it.
It might have been best if Goku learned the mafuba when Trunks was with him.

I think we should have had an episode mentioning hybrid saiyan potential, maybe Beerus saying the hybrid's could be unpredictable, or other types of hints towards a hybrid way of using God Ki. Maybe a hint with Gohan, to explain Trunks. I still don't think beating it over the head with the rage power up is a good thing to do, I think it should be random like that, but there should have been some type of hint towards it.

Shame about the Zenkai boosts, or whatever Black was getting. IMO that was one of the best things about Black.

I don't want to go on a rant about how I would do it but the spirit sword is easy to explain if you just show Trunks training with KingKai back when he was preparing for Buu. 1 extra episode dedicated to the Future Buu Saga would help a lot. You could explain how Trunks was learning the spirit bomb to fight Buu but couldn't perfect it. You could show him training with the Z-sword and other stuff to explain how he improved so much since the Cell Saga. It's the kind of extra episode that would have helped the arc immensely.

I respected that action. It was fruitless of course, but I respected it. I can't blame him, for wanting out of the fighting game after that shit lol.

It's funny that Goku mentions avenging him by name even though he never actually talked directly to Chiaotzu throughout the entirety of Dragon Ball.

The dub ruined that moment by adding lines where there was none and changing the dialogue to paint Goku in a better light.

The Kai version should be airing soon so hopefully that has been fixed.

Not really, no.

Dub added Kai saying "I'm afraid I have no choice"
And added Goku saying "then neither do I"
In Jp it was silent

In both the JP Version and Dub goku apologizes at the end.

How does that constitute painting goku in a better light. If anything, it's worse.

As somebody who grew up with the original, I really can't stand this butchery. The perma shit synth keys, the script, the over saturation.... my God.
