The problem with the character development they're doing for Gohan is that there is no real reason why he won't surpass everyone. He's training regularly, he's separated his rage from his transformations and subsequently his arrogance in battle. I know they won't have Gohan be as strong as Goku/Vegeta but it will be interesting what they use to prevent Gohan from ascending past Goku and Vegeta.

Btw I was watching Hyper DBZ gameplay and now I wish we could get an official DB fighting game in that style (not exactly pixel art, I meant the somewhat Anime/Marvel style of fighting) from a competent developer so that the mechanics and animations are great.

The same is currently happening with Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and Hunter x Hunter. It's pretty infuriating. Hunter x Hunter will probably finish before Viz publishes the coloured versions of both mangas. :/

Tenshinhan already has a confirmed appearance after this upcoming episode sparring with Piccolo and Gohan alongside Goku, so I wouldn't worry about him.
I should start reading HxH and reread D.Gray-Man. BTW did that new D.Gray-Man anime ever come out? I didn't follow it after news about it being a thing broke,

HxH is so good but those hiatus... People have been waiting for it more than for Gohan to do something useful.
I actually believed last time it was going to go on for a while but no, another hiatus in another cliffhanger
Even when the drawing were clearly not his top notch due to sickness they were still leagues over some of the more mainstream stuff (those ant chapters... uggg >.< )

Hunter X Hunter never clicked with me for some reason, and the setup seemed less unique after the Hunter exam. Maybe because I was already a JoJo fan when I watched it?
Then again, I guess it wasn't a total waste. I was introduced to it by a fujoshi, who used it to demonstrate how to scan an anime for evidence of yaoi. I'm not sure what to o with that skill though.

They better add Dragon Rush back in if they do. Fuck the haters, it made the game so much more DBZ. Burst Limit was a disgrace.
It's a bit different having a former member of the cast rejoin with a significant role in an arc than to have Gohan take his rightful place as the strongest warrior on Earth.

Kind of feel the same way. Although I like HxH and can see why people adore it, it's far from the greatest Shonen of all time for me. I still prefer Yu Yu Hakusho to it and Jo Jo since it was in Toonami. I want Part 3.

I would say the first six months since that is where the retellings ended. Even if I personally enjoyed them.
I wouldn't.
Shitting on every character that wasn't Goku Vegeta or Trunks isn't exactly a great way to handle the show because it made it insanely repetitive and unambitious.
There was also a constant reuse of the same areas and gags that contributed to that sentiment and made everything feel super self contained, in the worst way possible.
