Nintendo E3 plans detailed

FTFY. Seriously, people are getting ignorant by now.

I think that's a little cruel. I genuinely don't think anyone really believes half the things they say in these threads, it's just fun to get caught up in the hype to a degree.

90% of the stuff I predicted won't happen. Except Farming in the Zelda DLC, which is an absolute lock.

EDIT: Unless you're referring to people misreading the "2017" thing? In which case yeah, that's just people jumping to conclusions.

I see people actually think Nintendo won't talk about anything outside of 2017.

lol.

There's people actually thinking it will be just Mario, Arms and Splatoon 2. Like, how could you even think this?

Ah well, let's not let it distract us. I'm hyped, I'm there, I'm game. Body is ready, hypetrain and all that.

It's comforting to see that the traditional E3 Nintendo stupidity on GAF is going strong once again.

Seriously it's like each year the collective Iq drops in equal measure as the concern trolling rises.

3DS games?

BELIEEEEVE

They somehow made it even less exciting then last year. Only games coming out this year eh? The same games we've known about for months. Oh and that Rabbids game.

You... might wanna actually read the OP and the rest of the thread.

Suffice it to say, they will discuss games not launching in 2017 the same way they discussed games that were not ARMS and Splatoon 2 in last month's Direct.

10k please tell us with your insider knowledge that hasn't been conjectured by other insiders as surely only you would have the hot scoops to make such comments.

"Available to view in local languages live at Nintendo of Europe’s E3 2017 website, this presentation will offer more details about Super Mario Odyssey and other Nintendo Switch games, with a focus on games launching this year."

Focus on in Nintendo PR has always meant "mainly but not only."

So, some 2018 stuff will be shown if this is accurate.

I agree. Odyssey will surely be delayed to Q1 2018.

Not a chance. :) They said it was mainly complete in January.

🤔

In order for them to make it "even less exciting" wouldn't they need to show less games than in 2016?

🤔

So zero games then?
🤔

Artificial scarcity of game announcements
🤔

They'll actively remove previously announced games from your memory.

After E3 2017:

"Of course they were going to announce games coming out in 2018. But they need games out now, people are starving for games on Switch."

My guess is that the Nintendo Spotlight is going to be similar in format to the new Nintendo Directs. Where the Major games like Mario Oddyssey get detailed segments, but other stuff gets announced too in a rapid fire succession. If they can pack in a lot of content in a short amount of time, then this could be amazing.

True, unless the "2017" thing is a misnomer, OR Nintendo Japan didn't think it would be a game that Japan would be interested in..

The EU PR indicates content beyond 2017 will be shown:

"Available to view in local languages live at Nintendo of Europe’s E3 2017 website, this presentation will offer more details about Super Mario Odyssey and other Nintendo Switch games, with a focus on games launching this year."

Focus on in Nintendo PR has always meant "mainly but not only." I don't think retro's title is 2017. Even if it weren't Japanese oriented, it is a major title so I'd have been surprised if it weren't shown in January. Then again I suppose we could still see some big titles announced at E3 for 2017.

With Xeno2 clearly be delayed to 2018 , the arms and Splatoon big focus with he tournaments and the 3ds late life cycle product also with the he revision I wonder how much the Switch outlook will disappoint

The NOA PR also says "focus on 2017 games", it's quoted in the OP. The only thing which doesn't use the term "focus" is the actual tweet from NOA.

We've been trying to clear this up for the past many pages, but people don't seem to be paying attention to the actual PR.

If Odyssey turned out to be as good as Breath Of The Wild that'd be pretty exciting to me.

If the Odyssey themed booth one ups BOTW booth I'll be jealous I won't be there in person.

I'm curious if the theory that Mario's Odyssey will traverse the worlds of games across multiple different series holds true. I 'm curious how Nintendo will handle the original Super Mario bros on pc.

Nintendo always says things like "with a focus on games launching in 2017." and then show off things thats not coming that same year.

I like that it's only Switch games, a D not 3ds

Bureau only 2017? Perhaps a direct at the end of the the year. Or who knows, Mayne they will still surprise us

I dunno man, I heard that Mario Odyssey was the only switch game coming out and also it's cancelled.

Ah, thanks, sorry, I did miss that in the NOA PR.

Super Mario Odyssey
Fire Emblem Warriors
ARMS
Splatoon 2
Skyrim
Mario x Rabbids
One surprise

Thats all I am expecting tbh

I would be extremely extremely shocked if Animal Crossing isn't shown. The iOS version was supposed to be out by now and they delayed it for a mysterious (
to tie it in and promote it along side the sooner than later Switch version
) reason.

They announced that the AC mobile game was moved to this FY right? While I'd love it to come out this year, I'm thinking that's an early 2018 game.

I hate that Nintendo put their showcases at 5pm UK time... it means I can watch the first 30mins in work and then I have to sprint home and rewind the stream a little the catch the rest.
