Cool. Was waiting for those balance tweaks, but I think I'll try Ed first.

EDIT: Can I participate in the beta via the online modes of the full game? Or do I have to use the client?

Wow if they actually are revamping their entire server system I might hop back in for real.

I loved playing as Karin but the awful loading times after everything turned me away. You spent more time in menus and loading than actual matches.

Okay Ed is legit.

We got bread and butters for him yet? I'm basically mashing like an idiot, but he is a ton of fun to play.

You download a separate client. But your rank, and CFN ID tracks with the client.

Ed is really fun to play as. I feel like he'll have lots of beginner appeal too as you can pull off some flash stuff with him right out of the gate.

I really wished they would of had all the costumes unlocked for every character so we could try some new ones out, like they've done with the stages. I think that's what the plan was supposed to be, but it's not working at the moment.

I've been on the fence about SFV and never could get into matches during the original test periods. Only played it at events or at friend's houses so far.

I always said I would pick it up if they added Ibuki, but I wasn't a big fan of her default costume and other changes when announced. It sounds like she is a fairly strong character after the Season 2 update though so maybe its time to give it a shot.

Does the game support legacy sticks on PS4? I can't remember. I didn't pick up UMvC3 because of that....

Online play is really smooth compared to Vanilla SFV. so far every match has had no noticeable lag or slowdown.

really nice to see and matches are coming quick and fast, to fast for me to type.

Hey if you got a sec, put "free" in the title? Let everyone know they can try the game this weekend.

I played some battles and the online feels smooth here, I only have one slowdown that I assume is due to the other player's connection. Other than that the matches have been great, with no noticiable lag.

Matchmaking now seems to make more sense now, matching you with people with similar level. And also finds players faster, but this may be due to having more players connected due to free beta and people coming back to test Ed.

Ed is really cool and fun to play, his moveset is interesting and his easier inputs don't seem to affect the competitive output. At least in a casual, non pro-player environment. I assume the most hardcore players will moan and whine as they always do with everything Capcom does, even if it's something they asked for.

I like to see the that Ed has an execution barrier way lower: players can focus on the important stuff like strategy, mind games and reads without considering how good are they with execution. This is great because allows the non-experienced, non-skilled players to have fun with the game like the experienced, skilled players.

Obviously at other level, because they will need to learn a lot of things more, but at least makes the game way more accesible for them. And this is also good for the hardcore players, because helps to grow the community and the revenue generated by the game, which means that the game and its servers will be supported a longer period of time.

huh how come the game won't launch on steam? i press click play and it just sits there nothing is opening.
Do you have antivirus software? I have Avast, and had to whitelist the filepath of the beta in order for it to launch.

Had to do it for the actual game too, just forgot about it until now.

*thumbs up* PC gaming! *thumbs up*
