Don't know why some people so down on Days Gone .
The early gameplay trailer was not bad and when they expand on it i sure it going to be better.
Have a feeling this game gong to be bigger than what some people think with the right marketing .

It didn't do a good a job of standing out last year. Nothing about it looked special.

This year they should focus on the wildlife, the bike, the dynamic weather etc and how all those systems come together with the horde

I don't like the fact ppl keep trying to pass it off like it was met with some widespread lukewarm reception. The thread here certainly was but that's not at all the impression you get from other sites, its YouTube views, reactions etc

DMC5 better have an RE7 type of turnaround from announcement to release.
It's probably why they might not have revealed it earlier... (fingers crossed)...

I'm pretty hyped for Days Gone, but I can't help but wonder how big the game could be/have been with the Walking Dead license. I prefer the Walking Dead/Night of the Living Dead style zombie anyway, and the name recognition would be huge, plus AAA and open-world and they'd have a best seller for sure. I don't know why that game hasn't already been made.

I just think the demo didn't do it any justice because they didn't show much about what made the game unique other than the amount I zombies on screen and that's not gonna cut it for many. What they talked about in interviews has me hyped but they definitely need to display that in gameplay footage this year.

I agree, also thought the trailer last year was really great.

Oh trust me i know .
For eg the gameplay demo has more views than HZD first E3 trailer.

Zombies are popular. I'm personally not a fan, and GAF in general is kind of lukewarm/suffers from zombie fatigure, but I think Days Gone is pretty much going to be a success unless they screw up big time. It's a "marketplace disconnect" from GAF, much like Ghost Recon Wildlands was. Same goes for State Of Decay 2 honestly. Personally not hyped for that either, but it's very likely going to do well.

I'm interested for sure, I just had a different vision in my head when some of the insider info was "bikers and biker gangs meets the undead".

I thought it would be more out there like Rob Zombies Tyranosourus Rex/The Nail instead of Sam Witwer on a bike meets The Last of Us. Lol

That's right. The Youtube trailer has an excellent number of view and likes. I didn't realise.

People here have complained about zombie fatigue, but I wonder if they've forgotten that not everyone is a "hardcore" gamer and the bulk of people don't play every single zombie game that ever came out. Anecdotally, among my immediate gamer friends, let's say 9 people with PS4s, all of them are interested in Day's Gone. A couple have played Dying Light, none have played Dead Rising, a couple have played Telltale Walking Dead. I think some of us played Dead Island co-op back when it first came out. I reckon at least 5/9 will purchase Days Gone day 1. Not exactly accurate scientific research, but it points to me that there's plenty of room out there for Days Gone to do well.

How many zombie games have been released this gen? I think the open world with hordes charging you will keep the game fresh. Bend just has to show what they've built around it.

The horde busting out of the train is always circulating around Facebook. It'll do fine

Sales wise only game I'm worried for is Dreams (only sales wise tho)

Sony E3 exclusive announcements:
God of War - Announced E3 2016. No release date.
Days Gone - Announced E3 2016. No release date.
Spiderman - Announced E3 2016. No release date.
Death Stranding - Announced E3 2016. No release date.

I'm personally getting real tired of this shit. I get that people really want to get hyped for a lineup, but by the time the conference rolls on, it will have been a year since these titles were announced. And I have a feeling that we won't be able to play some of these titles this year. I find myself getting hyped for hard release dates rather than announcements now. It doesn't help that many games in this generation were delayed past their initial release dates. But hey, gotta hype up the platform right?

If in this conference, Sony makes any new announcements without hard release dates, I'm honestly not getting hyped. I almost don't even want to see Sucker Punch's new game until they have a release date ready. And that goes for the other conferences too, I'm legit gonna keep tabs on this shit!

I take it you've never complained about delays then? Because that's the reason why they don't announce release dates any more, not because they're announcing them early.

I don't really get why people complain so much about "early" announcements. Are you so impatient that you must play those games NOW and do you treat other mediums the same way? Cause Death Stranding has nothing on Avengers: Infinity War and plenty of other major movies.

Personally, I like having these big games on the horizon I can look forward to. It makes me far more excited for the platform than short announcement to release cycles.

So when it comes to marketing Spider-man is Insomniac going to use "The game based on the movie based on the comic book?" =P

It has nothing to do with the movie, so no.

Would love to see some Death Stranding gameplay but that's more likely for next year's E3.

I know it's not going to happen but, I'd wish they would stop showing it until it's ready. Ok, we know it exists, we know you have Kojima, now come back when you have a release window and a gameplay trailer. They just keep builind this hype that is going to be impossible to live up to.

Kojima loves the spectacle and Sony's not going to say no to a new trailer from him, so it's not going to happen. And they'll only build hype they can't live up to if the game isn't good or they mislead people of what it is (like NMS).

Besides, Sony doesn't announce release windows or dates any more unless they're certain they won't be delayed, so you're basically asking for one more E3 appearance and that's it.

its only 4 years of dmc, Megaman, breath of fire, even dragons dogma fans are waiting longer for Capcom

I would like way more if Capcom ressurected megaman :(
