4 planets only, check

One of the locations on Earth is exactly the same as one that was supposed to come out on Destiny 1, check

New guardian supers are completely copies from old ones, check

Graphics look basically the same, check

New planets look a lot like Venus, from Vex to the Guarden, lots of reused textures from Destiny 1, check

DLCs planned with content that was cut out from the original game, check

It's like I'm back on 2014 again.

This is complete bullshit. You're being extremely reductive.

Which I expected but come on people.

Looks fantastic. Don't get the negativity but that seems par for the course on anything Destiny. Looking forward to playing this with friends.

I get people are happy because this is all new but I guess I honestly thought people were expecting more out a sequel. Seeing people cheer on things like Clans which should have been in the first game or one of its many many expansions just doesn't make any sense to me. I mean yeah fine its being added but is that really something to cheer for? Same for matchmaking.

After how many posts, threads, and news articles about how Destiny had all these issues and thus far were getting the same game yet again with the same amount of content that Destiny 1 launched with (new story and stuff sure) and stuff like PVP ends up being downgraded to 4v4. None of that is at all exciting to me.

Destiny is just an odd series for me as I don't understand why people stuck with the first one for so long and loved it enough to get hyped for the second one with what they've announced here. The first game was hyped up beyond belief (and I was apart of that too, I loved the alpha and beta!) but was massively lacking content at launch with god awful ways of giving players loot and while I know they eventually went around to fixing some of that it still wasn't a good game and didn't feel like it had anywhere near enough content to justify its 60$ price tag or the 40$ for the following expansions or anything after that.

It's just weird to me because I see so many people hating on games with season passes and games lacking content at launch and rightfully so but Destiny just seems to get a pass from some people, I don't get it.

IDK maybe Destiny 2 will surprise me but I'm not buying into any kind of hype this game has, hype is bad for games like this that are clearly being designed with as minimal content as they can away with at launch so they can sell more content back to players, it just feels very scummy to me but if thats okay with the people who enjoy the game I guess its fine for them just not something I want to get behind.

Looks like they fixed campaign. Proper campaign. dynamic set pieces, lots of dialog, lots of action. Really cool.

Really interested in the adventures in the patrol modes.

Really looking forward to the beta.

P.S. WTF with all the graphics looks shit / like D1 graphics posts. Looks like a big upgrade to me. Lots more going on.

I'll play the beta if it's on PC but that stream did nothing to convince me this is anything but Destiny 1.5.

That's enough to make the addicts pay full price again, it seems

Oh shit, PC mention...

Looks like the Blizzard launcher, as I expected.

This actually works for me since the anti-cheat will be fucking superb.

Here is my thing with Destiny as someone who played a shit ton through all of it until Rise of Iron:

The gameplay will always be solid. Bungie knows how to make solid gameplay. The things I worry about the most:

  • Weapon and Armor customization (The random stat nodes were terrible, I'd rather them gone entirely.)
  • Weapon balance (giving every player a 1HKO weapon as a secondary just doesn't work.)
  • PvP balance (The matchmaking system fucking sucks)
  • The Story (I may not be the majority for this, but a I'll invest in DLC to see where a good story leads me)

That person on stage about to cry was a little cringy. "Destiny changes LIVES!"...mkay

I mean, sounds like she loves being a part of that community. If it's become such a big part of your life like that, then yeah you'll get emotional. I'd be lying if I said being part of that Power Rangers Twitch marathon didn't make me emotional. Sometimes it only takes little things to make you feel like you belong to something.
