The former Codename Apollo expansion now appears to be officially known as The Edge of Fate. Looks to be centred around The Nine.

Would take a hell of a showing to pull me back in, but I'll be checking out the stream regardless.

only finished final shape a few days ago and now going through the seasonal content, I'm interested in seeing the different direction they are going with updates now.

Im not expecting a lot from this.

TFS was a great end to the Dark/Light story. They can't have pulled something as good as that out of the bag this quickly. Bit like an off year, hopefully not as bad as the likes of Lightfall. They did say they where mixing things up so i'll take a look if nothing more.

Let me guess.

A new abstract noun attacks and then we spend six months farming glowing triangles to put into a mobile bidet in order to level up a random artifact that makes our guns break shields.

Can't wait.

From their previous dev post, updates are going to be more frequent because it's not one big update, but two smaller ones a year, and progression isn't time gated or linear.

The graphics must improve dramatically cause it looks dated. This game technically from 2013, Bungie must upgrade the graphics or move on from the series.

This.

TFS was great n'all but it was really showing it age in places. Time to cut last gen loose and upgrade everything.

Won't happen in a million years though.

Unbelievable they didn't have D3 lined up as a teaser after the Final Shape even if it was 2-3 years out. Stick D2 on seasons building upto release.

What a fumble.

They have GOT to shake the formula even more than listed below. Looks pretty in a list and almost always dissapoints.
From what I remember the UI is getting some changes. The Director is being changed to a new screen to streamline and showcase activities to do

Solo Ops Activity being introduced with dynamic difficulty as per your skill level
Fireteam Ops, Basic strikes for 3 people
Flashpoint Ops, Difficult strikes for 6 people
Common/Rare/Legendary will be replaced with Tier1-5
Some content might be locked to a specific seasonal Guns. Yikes
New Armor system after 6 Years, Cap raised to 200, Will only have 3 stat per Armor piece
Set Armors introduced with minor bonuses for 2 and 4 pieces equipped
Special Ammo Meter
Only 1 Raid and Dungeon in an Year and removal of disgustingly greedy Dungeon Keys !!
Last season will have Dungeon/Raid Boss rush mode activity like Pantheon.
New expansion will have new location with Metroidvania style exploration

TFS was pretty goddamn awesome. The three episodes have been absolute ass. Am interested to see what this will be like though.

D3 would mean even more content being vaulted, which would piss people off even more. My guess is whenever that comes it'll be a pretty massive update that either takes you out of our solar system or jumps pretty far forward in time to justify all the worlds and stuff being gone. They can barely keep D2 content in the game as it is.

Yeah I played some of the first Echoes stuff and decided to take a break. TFS was a good ending.

Nah, I'm done. I got my closure of 10 years with The Final Shape.

Agreed. Feel the same way as I did with Endgame.

I didn't have any desire to keep watching Marvel movies.

I tried to keep playing, but felt...exhaustive? Not sure what the term would be, but I didn't feel as invested/connected after TFS.

Haven't played since the Festival of the Lost. Tried logging in a couple weeks back, but just didn't feel compelled to play.

Time to move on for this old Guardian. Will always have a special place for Destiny.

Pretty sure I finished The Final Shape but I can't remember a single thing about it.

I don't think I'd ever grind Destiny again but I'd play another campaign if it's good enough.

I think you misunderstood. D3 as in in a completely new game. Fresh start.

I enjoy playing the game, and have pretty much played it as a FTP title thanks to most of the expansions being available on the basic PS+ service. That being said, I will never pay a single cent for it, as long as the update and maintenance schedules greatly favor American players. Since I have time to play only between monday-thursday, it's a waste of money to pay for something that I can't play at all on one of those days. Sometimes, like during the Final Shape release week, the game was offline for two whole evenings, and when it was online there was a ridiculously long waiting line due to the increased traffic, which they should have anticipated. That's at least 50% away from the week's playtime, just after a major expansion was released. Why would I pay for any expansion, when I most likely can't play it at launch? I'll rather just wait for it to be added to PS+.

On top of that, it's ridiculous that higher level Lost Sectors, some of which I've actually paid for, are essentially locked behind season pass, since it's impossible to reach the required level (2040 ATM) within the season without the pass.

Anyone got a checklist of info for:
-New enemies?
-New weapon type at all?
-New classes at all?
-Any significant changes to gameplay loop?

All I saw today was were are giving you two expansions are year to milk money out of you…

Quite a bit of new stuff from what I caught. New raids, Dungeons, Destinations. New Enemy variants (yawn). Amour rework.

Its basically more Destiny 2.
Seems better than the old way of one expansion a year and then seasons, but not enough to pull me back in personally. If its still in your rotation then it looks ok I guess.

I've been off the game for the last couple months but I do feel like jumping back in eventually. thou this expansion isn't really doing it for me just yet with what I've seen, I'm willing to give it a chance and check out more info when they're available.

The bundle with the two expansions of the year will cost like a full game/previous yearly expansions (80€ for EU, 100€ its definitive edition with some extras). Each separate expansion bought separatedly costs the half (40€ for EU).

Each expansion will feature two major updates (so there will be 4 per year) that will include free content, tweaks, etc.

I don't know. There's a new location and boss, so I assume there will be new enemies too.

Not this time. But there are many new things, like a new armor system or stuff like turning you into a lighting ball somewhat similar to Metroid, or some teleport stuff.

Narrative now will be non-linear and will keep adding chunks of different types: metroidvania, roguelites, already known stuff like raids or dungeons, etc. They also redistributed the game modes in a new menu, their difficulty/matchmaking and what is looted in each and many other things.

So as of now it's hard to tell, but seems they will change several things for their post TFS era.

Sounds like a patch for most games nowadays not a $40 price tag…

Think I'll wait for a sale before messing with the new narrative.

Bungie really should've just gone into Destiny 3 or a totally new IP with the backbones of Destiny 2. Marathon is a side project at best and this game feels like just a means to extrapolate money from whoever is left.

Expansions and major updates will include many things I didn't mention:

Basically the change is to have two smaller expansions per year instead of a big ass one, but to continue charging the same for both when you get the bundle of the two.

I think this is the idea, but also trying to get some new players (or bring some lost players back) with the soft reboot they are going now.
