Lackluster presentation overall, and the game is about in line with what I expected. Some new content, QOL improvements, and a general refinement of the D1 formula.

Will probably be enough to get me to buy in, but not enough to have me overly excited or feeling that this is a huge step up for the franchise.
What were you expecting, everything to be shown today? Lmao.

OMG if I can buy this with WoW Token gold, LMAO.

My first thought as well.
Pretty big mistake not releasing this to Steam. But overall I see it as more of the same although consider that I've never played the 1st Destiny but it really didn't appeal to me. Cool that its out for PC but eh...nothing to be hyped about.

Yeah. not being on steam has absolutely killed Blizzard's other games :(

What I didn't like:
Main character's "merc with the mouth" stupid sassy sarcastic personality
All new guardian supers look thoroughly dumb (Lazy Captain America ripoff, ninja bostaff, sword shooter)

What I liked:
Everything else. Actually, I loved everything else. The worlds look amazing.

The superfans in here who can't handle any criticism about Destiny are pretty hilarious. It's OK to criticize a game if it doesn't meet your expectations, everyone's different.

Pretty unfortunate to not introduce a new class in the sequel, but other than that, I loved the presentation. Destiny is my most played game of all time, so definitely looking forward to this.

Of course it remains to be seen but it's looking like it will offer a lot more variety in that world and side quests. And that was probably my biggest complaint about the first one.

So this played out like I thought it would.

-Game shows off like D1 making almost all D1 players very happy (we just want more)
-People that don't like Destiny think its more of the same boring etc.

I loved Destiny. It consumed me for a long time and nothing else got played while I met a whole lot of good friends online. However this really should have been a big expansion insstead of Destiny 2.

Pretty hyped, can't wait to try it myself when the beta rolls around. Interested to see how my PC would fare, but I think I'll go PS4 anyway.

I get people are happy because this is all new but I guess I honestly thought people were expecting more out a sequel. Seeing people cheer on things like Clans which should have been in the first game or one of its many many expansions just doesn't make any sense to me. I mean yeah fine its being added but is that really something to cheer for? Same for matchmaking.

After how many posts, threads, and news articles about how Destiny had all these issues and thus far were getting the same game yet again with the same amount of content that Destiny 1 launched with (new story and stuff sure) and stuff like PVP ends up being downgraded to 4v4. None of that is at all exciting to me.

Destiny is just an odd series for me as I don't understand why people stuck with the first one for so long and loved it enough to get hyped for the second one with what they've announced here. The first game was hyped up beyond belief (and I was apart of that too, I loved the alpha and beta!) but was massively lacking content at launch with god awful ways of giving players loot and while I know they eventually went around to fixing some of that it still wasn't a good game and didn't feel like it had anywhere near enough content to justify its 60$ price tag or the 40$ for the following expansions or anything after that.

It's just weird to me because I see so many people hating on games with season passes and games lacking content at launch and rightfully so but Destiny just seems to get a pass from some people, I don't get it.

IDK maybe Destiny 2 will surprise me but I'm not buying into any kind of hype this game has, hype is bad for games like this that are clearly being designed with as minimal content as they can away with at launch so they can sell more content back to players, it just feels very scummy to me but if thats okay with the people who enjoy the game I guess its fine for them just not something I want to get behind.

Maybe, and this is gonna be crazy so follow me here, maybe.... The people who get excited for Destiny, its expansions, and are excited for Destiny 2 and its coming expansions are not the same people who complain about season passes. Maybe tons of people do feel that Destiny is an incredible game, and are looking forward to getting more of that. Maybe they're willing to see what 4v4 has to offer versus 3v3 and 6v6 beforing getting upset about it. All that is shocking, I know.

And if you honestly feel like Destiny gets a pass here of all places, you are very, very sadly mistaken.

I'm going to remain skeptical. Not going to lie, that was underwhelming. Nothing screamed sequel, everything screamed expansion.

Since the reddit leak was true, I'm going to repost his response to the cross-platform question.

Looks solid enough to me.

I don't give an eff that its essentially a re-skinned Destiny 1 with better social features...I

Day 1...and let the grind begin a new.

well this will finally make a bunch of my friends quit WoW

I dunno about that but this will make it a hell of a lot easier to get them to play Destiny with me. Legit huge, as I said in the other thread there's a big part of the PC market that doesn't even look at steam, they only play Blizzard games. And that's what 90% of my PC gaming friends are.

Not many first person shooters thrive outside Steam.

yeah if only there was a Blizzard FPS that was popular.
