Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. S4 |OT| Ghost Riders in the Skye - Tuesdays 10/9c

How crazy would it be if the show went full on Hickman S.H.I.E.L.D? Like full-on immortal Leonardo Da Vinci?

Though the show would likely be done before they got to this level of crazyness, Though they are going straight to Space after a season of Ghost Riders, LMD's and an alternate reality.

How about that Space SHIELD huh? Possible GOTG2 tie-in after that movie seemed to
kill a few people on earth
maybe there's a push from Earth to find out what the fuck is going on?
GOTG take place in 2014 so no...

Wow.. what a finale! Probably the best episode so far. Every plotline was not only given focus but was good. i even appreciate how the end battle went because isnt that usually how it goes in the comics? Once Ghost Rider is on you its over right? The plan was smart and i didnt see it coming even though they set it up with Mac GR earlier in the season. That beach sunset. i wonder if Radcliffe made it out somehow. i had assumed that those not born of the Framework would wink out at the end. His disappearing before makes me think he got out.

Radcliffe didn't get out. The Framework was shutting down, thus, everything and everybody disappearing. His heart rate has stopped and his body in the real world is dead.

None of this means it cant happen. The only thing that leads me to believe it wont happen was the beach scene itself. To bring him back would cheapen it. i had just always assumed until then that anybody not part of the Framework would outlast the Framework. i half-expected the last we would see of Radcliffe would be him in a vast emptiness after everything had winked away. The "there are many hells" line led me to believe that we might see some really bad places and such a place where he is lost in a nothingness forever would qualify.

Not even a Ward cameo damn
I guess it wasn't that brutal how Radcliffe died. Instant.

Great end for a great season. I hope they can keep it up next season

The main difference between Radcliffe (and Agnes) and the rest of the world is that they had their brain uploaded into the framework. It's easy to believe that initial backup could have been saved somewhere, while the programs in the framework just carry on without needing a backup (unless there are regular snapshots stored outside). Neither would have experience of anything that happened in the framework though.

But for real, their bodies are gone, their minds were preserved in the Framework and disappeared with it.

Any idea what Ghost Rider and Coulson were talking about? The thing that Coulson didnt want anyone else on the team to know about him yet I mean.

I figure it's another shadowy organization/government putting Coulson [and co] in space, but I'd rather it be something other than that. Maybe it's intentional to get out of the way of the humans show? (and perhaps the distrust of Inhumans hitting an all-time high with Skye shooting Talbot was part of that overarching plan?)

Quake and Bake too OP.
Great team name.

Well that was something.

Personally I thought the Hive storyline last year was a little better.
Aida just wasn't really that interesting. There needed to be more episodes devoted to her newfound humanity. She went evil too quickly.
Radcliff's ending was the best part of the finally. I'm sad him go.

I'm not a fan of Ghost Rider showing up. Don't get me wrong he's really cool, and the actor did a great job(way better than Nick Cage), but he's the wrong character for this show, and way too overpowered.

You know Iron Fist is bad, when Gregg says that. He's mentioned in the past that Iron Fist was one of his favorite characters and looked forward to the show.

How was he the wrong character for the show? He fit in like a glove, with him going for the souls who have sinned. Going for the corrupted like Ophelia who's been consumed by the Darkhold. Who else should have taken care of this mess if not the the Ghost Rider himself?

i was skeptical myself of the whole Ghost Rider thing but the season 4 opener sold me on the idea. i think if i was a GR fan i would be more than satisfied at how the show implemented him. Even get a glimpse of a different GR when he revives Reyes at during the accident flashback.

Also when i did a rewatch i noticed that the portal GR makes is the same kind that the slingrings made in Dr. Strange.

Rewatching that scene with LMD Jemma and knowing she is one makes me focus on something else: the bad acting from Fitz (the character). It's actually kind of funny when he's says "Stop, stop, stop. Please, spare Jemma" almost nonchalantly.

That scene unfortunately didn't work on me, cause I was convinced they wouldn't kill off a main cast character, and would likely go for the "fake out" and kill her, but tell us "LMD!" and it turned out that way. I didn't notice the bad acting of Fitz, I should give that a rewatch. I can imagine smiling at that if it comes out in a funny way.

that's because he's trying to fake emotion because he knows it's not the real Jemma!

(i thought the same when watching tbh)

I didn't know that they had access to LMDs like that, so they fooled me lol

You haven't seen enough Whedon shows then.

Loved the finale, but agree that the pacing was a touch rushed. Would have been better in a 90 minute or 2-hour time slot, but absolutely understand why they couldn't.

Only a few things I wish they had more time for (and they could have fit some things into previous episodes):

-hint at the Jemma LMD. Show it somewhere, the way they showed the Daisy-room, even if it's just a passing comment of how creepy they are while the LMD parts are being boxed up or something (yeah, I know, they burnt them). I know that the Jemma kill fake out can't be ruined, but a small hint 3 or 5 episodes earlier would have done the trick.

-show more time passing between "ok, we have a plan" and Ophelia showing up at the base. Have Fitz working on something (not showing that it's the Jemma LMD), have Coulson and Robbie in some conversation/training/etc...again, nothing obvious, just give a little breathing room between "we have work to do" and "it's on"

-recast/reshoot Mac's daughter. Yeah, she was cute and all, but, wow, did her acting hurt what should have been a gut-wrenching scene. Simmons did amazing work there, and really brought the scene back to a decent level of effectiveness, but it was a fight against her "Daddy, make it stop" and "Am I gonna die? I don't wanna die."

I think i will have to buy this season on itunes. Damn Ghost Rider is BOSS.

was just thinking that - first season of television i'd buy digitally

i actually just started a digital video collection on iTunes - Get Out and every MCU movie to date (save Dr Strange... will pick that up with GotG & Homecoming later in the year)

I'd rather have a Ghost Rider tv than an Inhumans one. Netflix or even Starz or AMC should talk to Marvel about doing a Ghost Rider series. If they do I hope its a different Ghost Rider each season starting with a Ghost Rider western.

It makes sense for a Jemma LMD to be around. After all only her and Daisy didn't get replaced so I presume one was always hidden someone, ready to be activated.

Mane, Ghost rider going "Man With No Name" jumping from planet to planet wrecking shit. I'd be so down.
