LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 - Full Announcement Trailer

Fox only has the MOVIE rights to the characters. All merchandise, TV, and comic use of the X-characters are in Marvel's hands.

I don't want X-characters with MCU because those movies are slowly going to trash and lack any meaning. I want more from my movies.

I will only buy Marvel products if it includes X-Men so I guess I will be skipping this one for the time being.
lolwut?

I get it, you love the X-Men as much as me or anyone else here, but the MCU films have been consistently good (with one or two bumps in the road early on), especially in Phase 3 with Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians Vol. 2, & (hopefully) Thor: Ragnarok.

Since when is Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Gwen, Mysterio, Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan's Ms. Marvel) in the MCU? We don't know the entire roster i mean just go look at the Lego Avengers roster where it was a game based off the MCU movies and it still had a shit load of non-MCU characters.

Will it have FF/X-Men? I wouldn't be shocked if it didn't.
Let's be honest, with how popular Ms. Marvel is, her MCU debut is more of a when than an if (especially with both Captain Marvel & Inhumans getting an MCU film & TV show respectively).

so this is lego marvel super heroes (minus xmen) ?

Is that right?
As of right now, yeah. Hopefully that changes.

Yea but he is a FoxCU property

My point is their "self-imposed" of FoxCU characters is not at play here, so hopefully they return to a Marvel Superheros type of roster and not Avengers
And as LordOfLore said, Marvel doesn't have a problem using Kang as Tony's descendant in media where the X-Men & Fantastic Four characters are absent from, as shown by Avengers Assemble.

The only way you'll see F4 characters, cuz let's be real the X-Men are not happening, is if they introduce Human Torch as an Inhuman character and The Thing as a GotG character since the F4 no longer exists in comics.

Wow, didn't know there were people who'll jump to defend FOX...

My point is it sucks for the fans that these characters are being kept apart which is clearly true given how heated you're all getting.

Comic fans want all of these characters to be all back together again so they have the option to do mega crossover movies. FOX's hold on X-Men is even effecting comics because Marvel don't want to promote characters that a rival movie studio is using.

No they aren't preventing them but they're causing them to distance from those characters which is only negatively effecting the fans at the end of the day.

nonesense.
Fox aren't "causing them" them to do anything Marvel aren't willing to do with their own will. Fox only have movie rights.
All merchandising, games, comics(duh) even tv shows, belong to Marvel. Legion & The Gifted would not have been possible without Marvel green lighting them --so even here we can see some form of collaboration between the two studios.

Marvel simply appears to be happy to sabotage some of their more successful properties at the expense of the fans that grew up with them because 'wah-wah' they don't have the movie rights to them; even though this business deal was done completely above the board & legally when Marvel were hurting financially.

The MCU owe their foot in the door into Hollywood on the success of Sam Raimi & Bryan Singers respective Spiderman & X-men movie franchises. Super hero movies were taboo before these films came out.

i can't speak for anyone else, but i'm not "jumping to defend Fox". I couldn't care less about some faceless corporation.
When you can see something you think is 'wrong', is it "jumping to the defense" or merely objectively highlighting a disservice?

We're just telling you the reality of this situation. It is what it is.

I'm pretty sure FOX was the company that first wanted the piece of the pie for comics, toys, and other merch, which caused this whole bitter relationship in the first place.

More than one or two early bumps and still current bumps.

Civil War was a waste of time (especially with that ending), Guardians 2 felt like it was trying too hard and reused jokes from the first one along with other issues, Doctor Strange was fun but feel like it would be better as a one-off, and I have zero hope for Thor 3 since the first 2 were abysmal and looks like they are trying to copy Guardians which makes me not care. Plus, who cares about Thor? He serves better as a background character. Him being a god puts him up there with Superman, an unrelatable, boring character whose single aspect is "oh I'm not from Earth, watch me act archaic, ha ha."

The fact that you could skip most of these movies for two years, watch the latest, and not be lost is a testament to me. None of the movies carry weight, nothing changes storywise, no good villains, nothing to really care about. The Marvel fatigue is real when nothing happens.

Back on point of the thread!

I skipped LEGO Avengers because it was just the Marvel movies. I'll probably skip this one because how Disney/Marvel are treating the X-franchises. Even if they DLC an X-character, it would probably just one or two and I won't bother. The game is Marvel Super Heroes, not having one of your most popular franchises in it is saying they aren't "Marvel Super Heroes" and is a disservice to the fans.

I got other LEGO games I can still play like City Undercover and finish Force Awakens.

Looks like all big characters aren't restricted to the bigfig shape this time around.

Iron Man has his newest armor from the comics too, neat.

Sucks if X-Men and F4 don't make it in, through personally I am not too bothered beside the lack of Deadpool if so.

I am happy that least more Spider-man characters are going to be in this after the DLC pack only thing in Lego Avengers (with Spidey 2099, Gwen, Noir, and Doctor Octopus being shown in the trailer).

I really wonder how is this changing identify of something works for Marvel and lawyers.
take kang for example , you guys say he is now tony descandent story etc so what its like that and they can use him?

lol then make dr doom villain of avengers as well then use him in movies

kek

Just in case the other channel takes the video down, here's another link.

Marvel still can't use him in the movies, but just went ahead & used him with the mentioned alteration in the recent cartoons (despite the X-Men & Fantastic Four being otherwise ignored in said cartoons in recent years). It's likely the same Kang in this game.

The thing is that Marvel Studios (the film department) has the rights for all of those characters and could intergrate them into the MCU if they wanted to.

Marvel games are only playing in the MCU sandbox now, no more characters from the FOX-verse. They're only using characters they own rights to.

With the sole exception of Kang, apparently.

Though if the rumors of MvCI getting X-Men/F4 DLC in 2018 (& beyond) are to be believed, hopefully Marvel lets Lego Marvel 2 do something similar if they can't get the Fox characters on Day 1.

Logan was OK at best, overrated edgelord carnage at worst. The only reason it's rated higher than the other Wolverine movies is that critics love tragedies. Half of Marvel's movies piss on it from a mountaintop.

the reason it was rated highly was because it was a well directed film that focused on character development instead of big budget michael bay style set pieces of destructions and slow motion explosions (like XMO:W. smh). it had a lot of heart, looked at its subject matter with the self-reflexivity of an adult, and had it not been an x-men related film, would have still stood on its own legs for being a good film.

and as icing on the cake the film spotlight surrounded the acting chops of hugh jackman & sir patrick stewart, whom together can out act the entire MCU roster combined.
on top of that, aside from deadpool, this is essentially the only other marvel movie that isn't afraid to NOT be family friendly.

I actually really like the MCU films, and you are correct in that they are consistently better per movie than what Fox has made, to date.
However for the most part they are so kid-friendly i feel like mickey mouse could make a cameo appearance and break out in a musical with the other heroes jumping in, and it would still fit in with the flow of the universe. the lack of any real, foreboding threat is the biggest issue i have with their MCU films in general, aside from the winter soldier of course; no surprise as the Russo brothers are brilliant.
I mean, this is all leading up to Thanos & the infinity war, but thanos in these movies has been an unthreatening joke so far. this is suppose to be the 'big bad' titan that everyone needs to take seriously. There have been at least 6 MCU films that mentioned or featured the marvel galaxy, and none of them did anything to build up Thanos as a serious threat.
just in comparison, in one of the worst Marvel movies ever made (FF:RotSS), Galactus, even though he is essentially off screen the entire film, had a more lasting impression than Thanos ever has to date. fucking silver surfer did more justice to the foreboding nature of galactus in one fantastic four film, than the entire MCU has to date, for thanos.

i'm rambling now, so i apologise, because i really like the MCU and the films are well directed for the most part, just don't downplay the rare great fox x-men films because when they get it right, imo they get it REALLY right.

So this year on Switch we have
Lego City Undercover
The Lego Ninjago Movie
Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2
Lego Worlds (this year?)

It could be Riri.
Nah, it's Tony in his All-New All-Different Marvel armor. Riri's Ironheart armor is gold around the stomach area.

You're the second person to mention this; I think another user posted it in the E3 thread.

The Lego bags for the movie already feature a promo code for the game. You can use the code to unlock the respective figure as an in-game character, as seen with previous Lego games.

Meh, it would've been cool to see some gameplay or what they plan to do with the open-world elements of the game since Lego Marvel Superheroes 1 was probably the best one they've created aside from Lego City. This didn't really hype me up at all.

Looks awesome.

Had no idea Kang was a fox property. He was an Avengers villan first

I don't think he's a Fox property. There was a Kang arc in the current Avengers animated series. That series doesn't stray away from the MCU at all.

No X-Men characters? WILL NOT BUY

Geez guys, you people are a fickle bunch.

The roster will be the main selling point.
