Nintendo E3 plans detailed

Alright so my predictions will be this.

The conference starts out with a trailer for Smash 4 Switch early 2018
After is when Mario O gets its focus for around 10 minutes and November release
First trailer for a new game is Rabbids and Mario after releasing in August or September
Then they will go into Xenoblade 2 for a release month of December
After is a small trailer of Splatoon 2
Then Kirby for Switch(I think it'll be a full on jump to 3D and change the formula like Mario, Pokémon, and Zelda)
After is Skyrim Trailer for August
Other 3rd party ports announced(COD and South Park)
Animal Crossing Switch for Early 2018
3rd party exclusive
Pokémon Stars reveal
End with Retros game.
Sound reasonable?

I'll take all of it, please!

Yes please for 3D Kirby. The time is right for the series to take that next big leap. The 2.5D games and Super Star Ultra were so good but they're going to have to make a bigtime evolution if they want to truly top them.

True, although games released earlier in the year usually struggle more I believe, it's could go either way. I've a feeling Horizon will surprise quite a few people too.

Witcher 3, Dark Souls III, Bloodborne, Uncharted 4, The Last of Us, and Overwatch were among the most widely-acclaimed games of the past few years and all of those were spring releases.

Besides forgetting Fire Emblem Warriors I think this is a good prediction. Not crazy, not depressing but just right.

Possible Mario Rabbids RPG leak...

Oh God, no, please help us all...

Mario + Rabbis could have been the big reveal, so since that is out in the open, I can see people disappointed if that's it.

Don't judge the game by that tiny piece of art and wait for the full reveal.

Honestly, what did you expect from a rabbid dressed as Peach? This was known already.

Definitely sounds pretty reasonable. I dunno about a 3D Kirby since there are several 3DS Kirby titles this year, but I guess it's possible. I'm also expecting to hear about a third party developed (or co-developed) Metroid. Also I'd expect at least a minute or so dedicated to ARMS. Maybe detailing some of the free DLC.

Oh damn, I honestly didn't see it. I mainly stick to Nintendo threads so that might be why. That and I've been playing a ton of Persona 5 for the past few weeks :P

Yeah, same. Although, would November really be too late to win GotY awards for Super Mario Odyssey? Has that usually been the case?

It's not confirmed for November yet was sorta my point. It's possible but unlikely that it might launch in December. I do think November is far more likely though.

Yeah that looks hella real. I'm not seeing much of the problem though, looks fine to me. About what we've been expecting.

I'll just stay out of that other topic since it's filled with overreaction, which is normal for the video game community.

I did say the other day I was surprised more didn't leak lol

So basically a bunch of ports, some of last-gen games 5+ years old that won't be updated, some niche exclusives, and 1-2 major releases? I don't see how this is a grand slam. Obviously the Switch also being a handheld helps with some of this as many of these games can be played portably, but it still pales in comparison to the lineup of the PS4 and even the Xbox One, and I think only Nintendo getting back on the multi-platform release train is going to fix that. Sure you'll get die-hard Nintendo fans, hardcore gamers, and kids, but the average guy who only cares about the yearly Madden and CoD releases is not going to find much to love here.

No madden news yet, but NBA2K18 is coming out. I heard 2k17 was pretty popular (8 Million in sales) and FIFA is coming.

CoD...
lol I'll just play that on my Xbone or PS4 since the switch doesn't seem to have a good chat feature yet

I really have no idea why this is so offputting to so many people. Is it the Rabbid? Is it a Rabbid dressed like Peach? What exactly is wrong with that?

Maybe I'm just too old to be offended by their designs? And I'm not even that old!!

I guess it's Rabbids. They'll over look how great the gameplay is and the Mario characters. They'll probably overlook how great the environments may look, but somehow Rabbids brings it down. I don't even care for Rabbids. I've never played a Rabbids game because they don't appeal to me. I don't hate them.

Also, I love the Minions. I guess people here hate Minions too.

Sorry to interrupt the Rabbids talk :p But I just got send a survey from Nintendo that had an interesting thing in it.

It asked what nintendo characters/game series I liked, and it had the usual suspects: Mario (2D and 3D), Yoshi, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Link, Mario Kart, Splatoon/Inklings, Animal Crossing, Samus, Pikmin, Fox Mc Cloud
But also: Nintendogs & Rhythm Tengoku. Those two were a bit of strange outsiders I think, no? The last nintendogs title was in 2011, and Rhythm Tengoku released last year.

I can see them releasing a nintendogs for smartphones tbh

If they announce a new Animal Crossing, I really hope it's not tied to real time. Probably will be though.

New Leaf was a great game but it was a drag for people like me that can only play at night.

Personally, I always saw the Rabbids as a pretty low tier kind of IP, the kind you can get away making a mini game collection with but not much else. Hope I'm proven wrong, and the image IS quite hilarious, but I just think that the IP is just not deserving being mashed up with Mario.

Oh damn... Nintendogs would honestly be a perfect fit for mobile. I'd love to see a world in which Switch + mobile are Nintendo's primary platforms. Make my iPhone the new 3DS and give me stuff like StreetPass on it!

The thing with Mario x Rabbids and me is:

a) I'm not a big cross-over guy generally speaking. Smash is one of the few times crossover works for me for whatever reason.

b) I stopped being interested in Rayman when the Rabbids showed up. I've never played their games but they are ugly as hell and just look annoying.

c) I'm not big on Ubisoft.

d) I've liked Mario RPGs in my time, liked some a whole lot but they're on a downward trend atm, imo and I've stopped buying them.

This is a good point. Rabbids is low tier and doesn't deserve to be on Mario's level I definitely understand.

A fresh take on a Mario RPG is welcome to me at this point after Mario and Luigi Paper Jam.

Strangely enough, my biggest fear with the possible leaked asset is not the Rabbids Peach, but rather how strictly they'll adhere to the Mushroom Kingdom enemies and locations. If the crossover is as strange as it sounds, I'd want them to go all the way with it.

I think it's a bit too soon for another Animal Crossing game. New Leaf just received a pretty hefty update to satisfy players of that for a few more years. Plus with the mobile game coming down the pipes I don't see another Animal Crossing until Holiday 2019 at the earliest.

IIRC a large amount of the New Leaf update was outsourced, and they have plenty of HD assets to work with thanks to the AC Plaza, Amiibo Festival, hell even the Mario Kart 8 track. AC games usually come out every 3-4 years so this long a wait is really unprecedented for the series. Late 2019 seems waaayyy too pessimistic.

Lots of talk of it playing like XCOM in the other thread!
That could be nice.

Only thing is that cover to me screams "multiplayer" and not a story driven game so I'm really doubting it's going to be a Mario rpg kind of thing. Maybe gameplay wise but pretty sure it's going to be very light in story.

I LOVE how quickly the general opinion turned around on that after the full cover leaked haha

This looks excellently zany, hoping the gameplay looks good. I've never been much of an SRPG fan.

I'm laughing so hard watching how many of them had their overreaction to the zoomed in picture and we tried to tell them to calm down. Then this big full picture comes out and now it's more subdued and much calmer lol.
