Also what's the point of Beekeeper Mei? It's cute but it makes no sense in the context of the character. Like...why would you design an ice-themed character with an insect skin?

I'd rather self-mutilate myself than to go through this shit any more. Fuck Arcade. The Uprising event was the only tolerable mode ever cause each match was a guaranteed win, the rest of this is a frustrating piece of time waste. 5 matches. 5 losses. Fuck this.

I don't disagree, it just doesn't make a lot of sense
What mode do you play? I find that I don't get as frustrated if I play mystery heroes because it's less about strategy and more about luck. Taking away that control makes it a toss up so I'm less annoyed when I lose.

Probably because it's pretty similar to her base Yeti outfit and they thought it was a fun spin on it, while saving time on making new assets.
The ones that was supposed to give away a free lootbox at first win, 1v1 and 3v3. In 3v3 every time it's basically a roll of the dice that I get teammates that compensates for the fact that I am awful compared to 95% of the entire playerbase. In 1v1 I can mostly hope that the opponent goes AFK midmatch.
I just fucking hate that it's "Win" requirements on these fucking things. Just give me something for even bothering participating...
It's so good when you have a full group dancing all lively.
Just play more and get better? It's a win win Situation and if you win you get lootboxes. Good way to improve to with Mystery Heroes

Seriously, try mystery heroes. It's a lot of crazy bullshit but I always have a good time, no matter what. You get some pretty ridiculous team comps. Only frustrating part is you lose your ult when you die because you always switch heroes.
I'm also having a lot of fun with chaos. Lucio boops over and over and over...
Guess I'll give that a try.

Between luck, playing Overwatch an awful lot (so having enough coins to usually buy one legendary skin per event) and occasionally spending a bit of money on some lootboxes for past events, I have an event skin for nearly every single character. The only ones for which I don't are:
Pharah
Orisa
Lucio
I have about 2300 coins, so I'm pretty sure I can get up to 3000 before the event ends (if I don't, I'll buy a few lootboxes until I do). I definitely want the Lucio skin this event. It'd be nice to get the Pharah one, but I don't like it enough to spend money specifically to get it.
Because I've been able to get skins I like for nearly every character, I don't see myself wanting to drop much money on more in future.
On an unrelated note, I played some Total Mayhem last night. Zarya is easily the best character, especially if paired with a Lucio. The cooldown on her bubbles is ridiculous, which means she's nearly impossible to kill, and she's pretty much always at max charge. If you stay on the objective, the other team will have an awful time trying to get you off it.

25 Loot boxes and the only new skin I got was Mei. :/
Mei is a character that is focused to preserve the environment & solve the worlds global warming phenomenon. It actually makes sense for her to have a bee keeper skin, what with bees being heavily affected by climate change.
Because I know my available play time and without lots of luck in the next box I know Im not going to make it, and buying loot boxes its not a solution either, because you are at the mercy of RNG gods.

I mean, Loot Boxes are literally the only way to earn gold. You get piles of it now and again, and get gold for duplicates, which you can then use to in-game-buy what the fuck you wanted.
The gold you get for duplicates is pretty negligible though. I wish they gave exactly what it was worth.

I wonder how many people just play to gamble on skins during events. I'm at that poimt, even a little beyond it, because the hook isn't quite there for me anymore.
Don't care too much about the cache boxes that people spend loads on. Whales ate good for their profits. The new maps have been pretty fun because 3v3 is all I play.

Thought I'd get my comp placement matches done before the season ends. Is it always as bad as this with the mid-match quitters, or is it just a flood of people who don't care about comp at all? Literally half of the matches I've played tonight have ended up a mess because of them.

You can get stacks of gold, I end up with quite a bit because of my luck.
Wanting something and not getting it in a loot box is the completely wrong way to go about it, it sucks but if you play enough and get dupes you will build up your gold.
I really like the 1v1 thing, it's not just about counter picking but trying to figure out what your opponent will pick. It may take a little longer but, I think it's really great to be honest. It also deals with a few of the really irritating match ups (Sym v Sym and Torb v Torb for example). Only played one set of 1v1 so far but there is something really cool when, potentially there isn't a 'best' character in the trio you get to choose from, and you have to guess their pick to counter it.
When does the event end? I was so close to purchasing the game yesterday and still couldn't pull the trigger. Now I'm wondering if I'm wasting a lot of event time.

No Limits is my favorite guaranteed win...too bad its not up atm. 5 Symmetras and a Torbjorn are unbeatable once the shield gens are up.

There's so much new stuff for this event that it makes me not care about it at all. I have about 1000 coins and I don't ever spend real money on microtransactions. Up to this point I've gotten everything I've wanted for free.
