Game soundtracks on vinyl | Analogue Gen 33fps

Got the email about 2 minutes later than usual, but still managed to order the LE no problem.
DD is the best. The only thing that would make them better is a subscription service for repeat customers. :)

aw man, didnt get my password until 3 minutes past the sale time... even emailed them over 5 minutes before... but good news is I got mine Gunstar... went the red and blue route coz I'm not really feeling the split.

also ugh, I havent played video games in like 2 weeks... really wanted to finally get back into Persona 5 last night, except I couldnt coz I knew I had to sleep so I can wake up for this lol.

-edit-

ouch... looks like the £/$ rate has gone back up since recent DD purchases >_<

Brexit sure did wonders for us back when Outrun came out.

So i know this is probably late asking, but what's the US codes you guys are mentioning? Do they have an early sale for certain people and then release the rest later in the day?

It's a system Data Discs uses to sell preorders in blocks; you have to be on their eMail list to get codes.

If you're in the US, you can wait until Wednesday to order it from Mondo for cheaper shipping.

Im still undecided on the whole black vs coloured vinyl debate, i know historically audiophiles have stated that coloured vinyl produces more surface noise and isnt as durable over time as black vinyl but im not sure if this is an old theory and isn't relevant to modern day production of vinyl.

Also what kind of setup do these people have and would people with non super high end systems and needles setups either notice a difference!?. Either way with this GSH release im not buying a LE and Coloured sets anymore and just sticking to one (either black or coloured) and will probably sell off my LE collection at some point as it will just sit in its sealed packaging and never be used

It's a purist thing. There is data out there that proves there is a difference, but it's negligible for about 90% of the population. Colored vinyl is often a nice way of thematically tying the subject matter to the physical object. A lot of times it's trendy for trendy's sake. In the end, I would just get what appeals to you, because it's unlikely the sound quality would be that noticeable or dramatic in difference for the average setup or listener.

Picture discs, on the other hand, I feel have more significant audio issues. I feel like I can even detect these on my meager equipment. That, plus I think they're tacky and gaudy.

Store page for Witcher 3 is up now: https://www.thinkgeek.com/product/jorj/

As expected it'll be $30, so not too bad.

Still trying to find out more about the 3LP edition, but other than it being a German exclusive I can't find too much info.

EDIT: Also, the side lenghts at 120 mins seem to have been a mistake. The tracklist shows the 80 min original soundtrack, so at 20 mins per side it seems much more reasonable.

Your doing some good work there. Hopefully we can a place where we can buy the 3 LP edition.

I'd like to know more about the 3LP German edition.

Glad to know its not the stated 120mins.

Well, what I do know is that the bonus disc on the 3LP is the Heart of Stone DLC OST, and that the regular 2LP will be red vinyl and the bonus disc will be blue.

Sounds awesome! Hope whoever distributes will ship out of EU. I'll have to have my German speaking wife order for me. :P

Okay, this is going to sound snobbish but I am already getting antsy about the hypothetical situation that half of those Witcher 3 vinyls will go to people who don't have any sort of turntable and will sit on some shelf next to this Geralt statue...

... as some sort of collector's item rather than being enjoyed/listened to (inb4 collecting is a type of enjoyment).

God damn, that is my #1 most wanted soundtrack on vinyl.

Damn, its sold out. Will any other sites be stocking it?

Only slightly videogame related, but Carpenter Bruts Trilogy seems to be getting a repress at the end of June. Available on the amazons, just preordered mine for €32 on .de (Triology lol).

I will kill someone if I don't get it this time.

Also, they have tracks in Hotline Miami. It's VG related.

Well... Thats like saying Kanye West is VGM related :D

Except tracks directly from the album are in the game, and good luck ever getting a copy of the HM2 vinyl at this point without paying an arm and a leg.

I remember the first time I heard Roller Mobster in the game. My stereo was up just a little too loud and I literally shoved back into my couch when it kicked in.

Plus it's a great album :)

OMG

PLEASE tell me I can order this in the US......

edit: phew looks like you can. I haven't seen anything official though, so maybe the announcement is still to come. They announced a 2x LP pressing of one of his live shows the other day though.
