So word on the subreddit for leaks says that someone posted on Google Plus about getting to meet Rebecca Sugar and watching the upcoming hour-long special early...

They confirm the names for the new Gems, a few story details, and hints at what may be coming down the road.

Definitely seems legit; they got several signed pictures as part of a Make-A-Wish deal.

Part of me was hoping the Ruby/Pearl Fusion was going to be Sard or Onyx, w/ a Sapphire/Pearl fusion being the other one. That said, I'm excited to see how Rhondite interacts with Garnet. And want her & the Paradaschpa Sapphire to form an off-kilter Sardonyx. I also already feel bad for Zircon; I'm guessing the Off-Colors are making it back to Earth, but I hope she & Topaz come back, too.

Also (POST-WANTED SPOILERS):
That vague warning about Jasper... I hope she isn't just brought back to get dropped again. That wording from Sugar was vague, but her VA's clearly still active... It can't just be for Skinny, right?

The logical part of me understands why we would potentially never see Jasper again. Her story arc finished, she established the next main storyline in her demise, and the failure to save her could be important to Steven's development. If she was never brought back, I could understand why.

The fervent fan part of me views Jasper as too cool, interesting, and well-liked of a character to just be defeated and put into a bubble for the duration of the series. She NEEDS to come back somehow. It feels like she's too important to the series to just never discussed or dealt with again. She's a part of cast posters and presented as someone with equal billing to Lapis and Peridot on that promo material. Obviously, I'd like for her to get some sort of redemption, but that's only feasible (and satisfying) if the show will run for 2 or more seasons after Season 5. Amethyst would potentially want to patch things up with her, Lapis would have to deal with her, and Steven would want to save her in some way because he's Steven and he believes people deserve a second chance.

From a narrative standpoint, there's no reason for her to be present right now. The current threats are Yellow and Blue Diamond and getting Steven and Lars off of Homeworld. Then you have Aquamarine being the world's biggest little shit and Topaz being sympathetic to Steven and Lars' plight. Those plots need to either resolve or be put into a certain limbo that would facilitate Steven deciding to tackle the problem of corruption (and thus Jasper) again. Once this current plot is dealt with/finished, a corruption/Jasper-focused storyline would make a lot of people happy.

That being said, the Crewniverse will do as they please. If they think the right move is to just have Jasper healed as part of a series-ending montage where all of the corrupted gems are healed at once, then so be it.

For once CN is keeping a tight ship. Aside from the first episode of Wanted the rest have only had clips and screens shown. The only person to have seen it was a make a wish person (who said the crewniverse were wonderful in person).

This is how I feel right now with the anticipation of tomorrow's 1 hour special, along with some jerk leaking said special ahead of time.

7 PM. For us west coasters that means finding a stream before 4PM.

Or in GMT add 4 hours I guess which would make it 11PM GMT (23:00 GMT). I keep forgetting there's fans in other timezones that are going to be tuning in somehow.
 
The child who got to visit CN through the Make A Wish foundation was getting shit on by some youtuber because she was allowed to reveal some details about the wanted special.

Yeah, I dunno if I said this hear but I have been a part of plenty of fanbases and more often that not a great fanbase tends to be the exception rather than the rule sadly. See every videogame console fanbase, anime, sports, etc.

Out of the few good ones I can think of Destiny and Dark Souls are the only communities that really come to mind immediately of being friendly.

A ton of toxicity centers around tumblr. If it up and died I wouldn't miss it.

That fandom bullshit is so awful, but there's awful fans doing things in other fandoms too (some Voltron: Legendary Defender fans were invited to Studio Mir and apparently leaked some storyboards and won't take them down unless Dreamworks makes a certain ship canon).

Jesus Christ, what. All of the great tastes of cringe-worthy ship wars mixed with the douchebaggery of leaking official work obtained after being invited to the studio. And then topped off with blackmail (which Dreamworks has no incentive to fulfill because the storyboards were already leaked).

Can we not with the Vox/twitter business? (btw for those of you who don't know, AwestruckVox is one of the bigger Steven Universe theorist on YouTube who runs a channel called "The Roundtable")
The make-a-wish kid actually reached out to him and Vox has apologized for the stupid, stupid thing that he said.
Considering that this is where the make-a-wish kid wants the story to end, lets just leave it at that.
Bashing Vox over an incident that you weren't personally involved in or effected by is pretty dumb at this point.

Whoops, I forgot it was today. I won't be able to watch it until tomorrow anyways(would be mean to steal the TV from my niece and nephew).
