I suppose Lars will eventually be able to create portals like Lion can which can bring him back to Earth. Question is, can he create portals to other planets or maybe you can only create portals to places you've been to?
Too many new questions!

I doubt Lion's ever been to the moon, but at least he knows where it is. A few million miles took multiple portals, but based on Log Date 7 15 2 Homeworld is in another galaxy. That might be a little out of portal range, so I have a feeling they're going to either commandeer a ship or ultimately "liberate" Homeworld.

Don't forget everyone, a bunch of new episodes are about to air.

Did you see how Yellow and Blue beamed in? I think White Diamond might be the Fusion of the three.

That's because yellow light is a combination of red and green light. So yellow + blue light is red + green + blue which = white light.

Yellow Diamond is the one with a grudge against the Earth, and the one who is trying to rush through the trial.

They've made it pretty clear that Yellow loved Pink as much as Blue did and her grudge is fueled by vengeance. She wanted to get the trial over with and execute the one that took Pink away from them.

Yellow is an army Diamond. What if White Diamond ordered Yellow to destroy her and she regrets carrying out the order. You may think, well Yellow and Blue can fight back White! But look again at whose the top of the authority.

The "Pearl belonged to Pink Diamond, shattered her and Rose took the rap" and/or "Rose is a body-swapped Pink Diamond who orchestrated a grand cover-up" theories are WELL on schedule now.

So apparently all the years Rose Quartz was on earth
she only used her resurrection ability once, on Lion. There's probably some limitation or cost to using it.

-EDIT-

Or did she just discover this ability right before Steven was born? Do we know how long Lion has been around?

Oh man, they better not do any random townie episodes any time soon. Not with this still unresolved.

My guess is that White Diamond killed PD, part of reason she wasn't at the trial.Or our Pearl did it when she used to belong to PD, but Rose took the blame for her.

Well, the first thing I would do is pop over to the Galaxy Warp and repair the Homeworld warp pad.

Yeah,
White Diamond killing Pink Diamond makes the most sense since she would be able to cover it up. She also has motivation considering Pink Diamond wasn't able to stop the Crystal Gems from revolting which probably angered her.

Also, do we still have to use spoilers now since it aired?

Well, so much for
spending all of Season 5 on Homeworld.

But Pearl mentioning that they were building a dropship means that they're probably going to go back to save Lars. Then again, it may be a better idea to just use Lars to travel to Homeworld and find a way to rescue him from there.

The biggest status quo changer? The Crystal Gems now have a secret form of transportation directly into Homeworld.

At the very least, we now have some new major plot threads to deal with. Lars needs to get rescued and "Rose shattering Pink Diamond" is now up in the air. If Pearl and Garnet thought she did it, and Eyeball claims to have seen it happen, then what the hell actually took place?

Did Pearl shapeshift into Rose and assassinate Pink Diamond? That would explain why Pearl never shapeshifts (she's traumatized) and it would also explain why Garnet looked at Pearl when Eyeball said Rose shattered Pink Diamond. Blue Zircon also made a point to mention why PD's Pearl (!) didn't try to protect or warn her. But if that were the case, why would Garnet and Pearl STILL lie to Steven? Especially if the lie is "your mom murdered a space dictator, but actually, not really?

That leaves either White or Yellow Diamond killing Pink Diamond, or a fusion of Yellow and Blue forming White with Blue not realizing what they did. But how can only Blue and Yellow form White and not Pink, Yellow, and Blue? Yellow definitely knows the truth, which is why she's so adamant to kill "Rose". My guess is that White killed Pink because Pink was going to defect and help Rose. Yellow knew about it, and let it happen even though she loved Pink. Blue was the closest to Pink, so she was kept in the dark.

White was shapeshifted as Rose to frame her...but the real Rose was present as well, since PD was arriving for a meeting with her. White Diamond then blackmailed Rose into taking the blame in exchange for not murdering Rose (and the Rebellion) right then and there. Rose then kept the lie from everyone, including Garnet and Pearl, out of guilt for letting Pink Diamond die.

My guess is that Blue finds out the truth in the season or series finale and she goes apeshit on Yellow and/or White, which would allow Earth and the Crystal Gems a fighting chance. Yellow could also start to feel guilt over knowing and lying to Blue, and she and Blue end up defeating White Diamond. Homeworld and Earth sign a truce, the series ends, and the Gems go out for pizza.

I don't think that's why White killed Pink. It seems like Pink liked Earth and humans and may have become sympathetic to Rose's cause. Maybe she was meeting Rose to form a truce and White disguised herself as Rose and killed Pink.

Pearl: I never told you about PD.

Steven: You told me enough. You told me Rose killed her.

Pearl: No I killed PD, Steven.

Steven: WHAT? THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!

Pearl: Search your feelings you know it to be true!

Steven: WHHAAAT?!!!??

Not sure how I feel about yellow diamond potentially shattering pink diamond. Kinda removes some moral ambiguity from the show and makes yellow a straight villain

The bomb was great though, although I'm afraid it leaves an excuse for them to fuck around for the next 10 episodes before going back to homeworld for the series finale.

Could be that Rose had a respect for the nature of life and death on Earth. Lion could have been something she inadvertently killed and chose to resurrect.

Regarding Rose's abilities
hadn't Steven's healing saliva failed to work for a while after he'd recently done a lot of healing, like repairing Lapis? That could point to the regeneration ability requiring a lot of power. And then a recharge.

And Lapis was only cracked. Totally regenerating an organism might require years or decades worth of charge.

I took it as less of "YD killed PD" and more "Yellow Diamond knows who killed Pink Diamond, but Blue Diamond doesn't".

What if Pink isn't really shattered... only in hiding? Maybe Rose made an arrangement to keep it secret? Seems awfully convenient no one was there to stop someone from shattering Pink, as the lawyer said.

Reminds me of the second season of The Magicians.

But it also brings up the question, did the Diamonds send the corruption beam AFTER they heard Pink was dead? If Pink is in hiding, maybe she's corrupted too?

lol what if she's hiding in Lion this whole time.

Lars,
I always knew you had it in you. You have redeemed yourself. Also, the gem that can only predict the past is awesome xD

VA credit list

In case you were wondering who voiced who.

Amy Sedaris and Ashly Burch
nailed their roles. I know a lot of people like
Padparadscha, but Blue/Defending Zircon was my new favorite character this bomb. She had every reason to barely try to defend "Rose Quartz," but she had dignity, pride, and a legit sense of justice. Once she realized that things didn't add up, she lawyer'd the shit out of the case to the point where she even convinced Steven (and the audience) that Rose was innocent.

That being said,
Patti LuPone was fucking incredible as Yellow Diamond
in The Trial.
She was funny, menacing, and full of rage at the end. I love the running bit where she can't stand other gems constantly groveling before her and just wants them to get to the point.

Blue Zircon probably had every reason to defend Rose Quartz with all she had. She said both of their gems were on the line. Even though she was assigned to the case she likely stood to share the punishment if she failed to win the case.

I loved the defense lawyer's case,
puts together this brilliant chain of observations only to end up accusing the judges of a coverup or worse.

Wait why doesn't Steven try making Lars scream out a portal.

You all do realize that these portals seem to have limits, right? Like going to the moon left Lion drained AF.

As for who killed Pink
I need to watch it again but I don't think it's as easy as "It's a inside job! YD did it! See, cause she's fucking fed up with all this talk and people looking into things and just wants to end this trail asap!".

I'm guessing that they'll find an excuse not to use the galaxy warp and instead they'll attempt to repair the drop ship as they were attempting to do before Steven returned. Probably after healing Centipeetle so she can help.

Why can the galaxy warp cover the distance? Why can the hair space cover the distance? Why can't Lion use his roar to warp to hair space and then warp from there to homeworld?

Jet fuel can't melt steel beams Rose Quartzes can't shatter Diamonds.

I agree though,
YD being the killer is way too obvious. It's apparent that she's in on the conspiracy or at least knows who did it. But the show has done too great of a job of throwing curveballs at us to simply make YD the culprit. There's something more to it. My money is on White Diamond or some gem shape-shifting assassin sent by the Diamonds. Pearl being the shatterer would have been great, but then there's no reason for Yellow Diamond to try and hide the truth.

These eps leave some major implications.
Could there be others like Lion and Lars? Could this be another of Rose's resurrected operatives? Link

To add to it, Blue says Pink was shattered with a sword, but Bismuth designed the sword to poof a gem's body with a single strike but never destroy the gem.

So uh, there's a lot to get through in this season if it's the last

*Resolution to the main Homeworld plot

*Steven learning how to heal corruption

*Jasper returning

*Centipeetle getting healed

*Lars stuck on Homeworld

*White Diamond

*Who shattered Rose Quartz?

*Whatever they're setting up for Topaz

*The Famethyst

*The humans on the zoo

*Steven's fusions with Garnet and Pearl

*Stevonnie development

*Obligatory Townie episodes

There is, though. It makes perfect sense for a coverup to suggest a Diamond was cut down by a versatile Quartz soldier, because they're made to fight. Not only that, but a Rose Quartz could be a Gem caste with extremely manageable numbers, provided the "Rose Quartzes were made to work in the Zoo" theory is true - it'd just be a matter of going over to the Zoo and popping all the RQs before they could even react. Rose Quartz also spearheading the rebellion was just convenient.

If it got out that a Pearl shattered a Diamond, the entire caste system gets thrown into disarray; it'd be like suggesting a dictator choked to death on a fancy handbag. Suddenly (what's assumed to be) the lowest caste in the system overthrew a quarter of the entire Gem leadership, and considering just how many Gem castes are capable of owning Pearls, it's not like they could easily initiate a bubbling op against them.

Now I can just imagine some gem grabbing a mic somewhere and saying
"Investigate Pink Diamond, Pink Diamond's shattering was perpetrated by gems within our own Diamond Authority-" *gets poofed*

Then she returns and says "Investigate Neil Diamond!" and dancing commences.
Like so.
