Wonder Woman (DCCU) Review Thread (RT 93%)

Still 95%+ on tomatoes, keep it Wonderfully fresh, critics!!
I guess everyone is so damn thirsty for a solo female hero movie. I need that Gotham City Sirens movie ASAP.

Based on the trailers I am genuinely surprised that it's doing this well, they really didn't do anything for me. Good for fans of dc/ww though.

I wish we had a hyper stylized Batwoman movie. Something with some very distinct cinematography. And a script that does Kate story as a Jewish vet, woman and lesbian with the seriousness it deserves.

Someday. Probably never. :(

Man if only. That teamup was soo cool.

Happy to see the DCCU have not only a non-stinker in its lineup but what seems to be a very good movie too.

Good choice with the creative team.

I mean, is it?

This movie is following three bad movies. Man of Steel, Batman vs Superman, and Suicide Squad are all bad. Batman vs Superman is an embarrassment of a film.

This movie being good, really good, is surprising.

You could easy see that this movie was gonna be good. With all the on point trailers, posters. no weird leaks, reactions from people who saw scenes, Patty understanding the character, the little winks towards Superman 78. I mean there was nothing negative coming out. Yet people were saying "this is gonna do worst then BvS and SS"
Just because its a DCEU movie and the other ones were mixed. But if you looked at it with a open mind you knew this was gonna happen and would turn out good.

Glad to see this film review well. No matter what you think of the DCEU, all films had some great moments scattered throughout. If they can keep the consistency going, I might actually check a few out in theaters.

Good.....those action scenes in the trailers were crazy. I didn't grow up reading DC comics but I did follow the cartoon series. One thing I learned from those shows is that wonder woman is a beast.

Its good to see WW whooping ass in the movie and reviews.

Man of Steel isn't bad.

Also you implying BvS was somehow worse than SS is laughable.

About fucking time. I was thinking we might have to wait until Aquaman to get a good DC movie here.

Aquaman.

There are no moments in MoS, BvS, or SS that I would consider remotely "great." There are a few I remember, some due to a nice shot choice or a well delivered line (these are entirely Affleck and Irons), but if WW has great moments in it, it will be the first DCEU movie to contain them.

Mmm, yeah, a bit. However knowing that it was being done by the director of 'Monster' and not the director of '300' and 'Man of Steel' improved my expectations immensely.

So gooooood. Hopefully this film marks a new beginning for the DCEU.

Why not??? The amount of shit DC films get on this forum is something else.

... You realize the only reason they "get shit" is because all three movies released so far have been absolutely awful, right?

This isn't an issue of bias and it's not a big controversy. When you put out three terrible movies in a row, people are going to talk about that.

Man of Steel got mediocre reviews, rather than awful ones as with BvS and SS. Has a lot more people defending it as good than the other two by my reckoning also. I wouldn't count it as a streak of three "absolutely awful" films.

Critics hating the DCEU thus far cause the movies sucked balls?

Nah, I'm sure it's just critics having a Marvel-bias...

how does that change the fact that there is crow to be served? I don't see how it matters if the previous movies were bad to you or not, crow is crow.

Yes?

It's monumentally misguided to think it'd be the same when there's a different director, writers, and cast (aside from Gal) than the other movies. That ain't how any of this works.

MOS is a 7/10 for most folks.
BVS is a 5/10 for most folks.
SS is a 2/10 for everyone except whoever the fuck brought all those ticket.

What I am trying to say is to call every DC movie so far absolutely trash seems like a biased personal opinion.

I'll concede that it's "one mediocre and two terrible" films. But still, the crap that the DCEU has gotten isn't worth a "wall of shame" just because people assumed the worst of the fourth film in the series.

(Not referring to the Gal Gadot shaming stuff, of course. That was ridiculous.)
