I love Marvel's female superheroes.................except Captain Marvel. I think I'm more excited for that Black Cat/Silver Sable movie that will probably never get made.

It's amusing watching everyone be like "It's good?!?!?" after we just had about a week of critics, comics creators, and regular folk (including some on this very website) all saying "It's good, y'all."
Was everyone expecting people to just suddenly decide it's shit when it came time to write their reviews?
So I just want to make sure we're all in agreement here:
Wonder Woman could (and hopefully will) over-perform at the box office, but based on basic logic and reasoning, we all understand it has absolutely no chance at $1 billion, right?

Its not even starting in China and Wonder Woman is not that much known outside of UK and the US (Yes, some people here dont agree, I dont care), so I would say 1 billion is way out of reach. Maybe 700 million.

$700 is my new estimate based on these reviews. My prediction has been going a bit low but when word spreads, I think that will lead to it overperforming.
I just assumed this would suck - guess I was wrong. Will see this next week.
Gadot seemed a little awkward as WW in BvS but it seems that she nailed the performance this time.

Fuck this shit, there's no 2, it's Thor World: The Dark Thor World of Thor.- "Best DC movie since The Dark Knight"
- Gal Gadot's performance being praised as a highlight
- Higher RT score than Guradians of the Galaxy 2 and the GOAT Thor 2: The Dark World
Cue the bet you didn't see this coming gif.
It releases in China or what are you saying?
I'm pretty sure Wonder Woman opens in China this Friday too.
I'm calling it: $1B.
It's going to make $700m, while Captain Marvel makes just about the same amount, and you cry yourself to sleep as Carol Danvers becomes a household name.

I saw the press preview yesterday and 96% on Rt is absurd.
The movie is just average, with a kitsch and stupid ending, a weak villain and very bad special effects.
I think the positive reviews, as happened with Ghostbusters last year, are more dependent on "gender" (female movie star + female director) than by its actual quality.
Guess we can't really have a Wonder Woman thread without the whole, 'Totally unknown character outside US' nonsense lol. It's the circle of life, I suppose.

Wonder Woman getting a higher RT rating than The Dark Knight?
Holy shit.
Y'know, considering that you're the only one to bring up her gender as a mark for or against the quality, I think that your review might be influenced by it more than theirs.I saw the press preview yesterday and 96% on Rt is absurd.

Oh, first one to bring PC is the reason this movie is rated well. Maybe your opinion is in the minority, ever thought of that?
