Metroid Prime 4 would be cool, but I'd honestly prefer Retro working on an IP they haven't worked on before. As long as it's still single-player-focused, anyway.
K. Rool is only memorable because he's the first villain. Other then that's he's honestly a pretty lame.
I liked the Snowmads better design wise, but some of them were boring. They did have better theme music tho.
remember the Reggie quote.
REMEMBER THE REGGIE QUOTE!
For the uninitiated:
That would hold some meaning if Reggie had anything at all to do with Nintendo making games, I don't think he does though.

Reggie is skilled when it comes to say absolutely nothing in many words, but I honestly can't believe people are still falling for it
I want a Metroid Prime trilogy HD for Switch before an MP4 though, imagine that coming out 6 months before an MP4!!

I'm as excited as anyone for Nintendo's E3, but I think it is going to underwhelm. Given the early success of the Switch, all they need to do is spend more time showing off games that are already announced and it will feed into the frenzy. There may be a few announcements, but nothing too wild. Especially since the conference is only going to be roughly 45 minutes.
K. Rool is terrible.
Agreed. They almost ALWAYS underwhelm at E3. But, if you put all the announcements they pepper out over the course of any given year into one presentation it's pretty damn sweet. They just don't put as much stock into E3 as everyone else.
And since E3 is mainly for mainstream media to cover, all they need to do is MARIO MARIO MARIO MARIO MARIO.

In terms of surprise announcements, a Retro title is more likely than a Metroid one, let alone both. However, any surprise is probably going to be a different game altogether.
Their e3 Directs are always around 45 minutes in length.
I'm pretty sure Retro isn't making Metroid or Donkey Kong.
Aren't they closer to an hour typically? I'm just curious if someone has confirmation about the length.
Where did you hear this?
Retro Metroid is happening friends.
My predictions are always right.
Nintendo - Metroid Prime on Wii U by Retro Studios
All I know on that is it isn't Metroid.
Eurogamer last November on Retro Studios' new game.

Thanks, interesting. I'm surprised 2015 was longer than 2014, it felt like there was way less content. I guess there still could've been.
Anyway 45 minutes is a safe assumption I guess.
Yeah Retro are most likely not making a Metroid or DK game.
I'm still holding out hope that GAF leaker is onto something and we are getting some form of DK game.

I have no idea what Retro is making but I just can't help but feel there's going to be a huge backlash to it.

If David Wise himself told Evb about his involvement in Snake Pass and DK then it probably is true.

I'm pretty sure all you people begging for Metroid are masochists. You will be in pain if Nintendo doesn't unveil a title at E3 and even if one is shown, the chances of you liking it are pretty low. You've got to like the pain if you keep putting yourself through this.

Idk personally about Retro with DK again, I remember them once saying that working on metroid became boring so I would've thought that working on another DK game would become boring for them which is why I wouldn't see them working on DK again but on something new... hopefully!
Reminds me of Megaman fans
For Retro, I think something in the first-person shooter/adventure, RPG, and action-adventure genres would be generally well received. Anything else...not sure.
In terms of IP, I think a new IP is guaranteed to be received well if it doesn't follow in the footsteps of Splatoon and ARMS as a colorful multiplayer game (because I think people see Retro as being capable of bringing a different flavor to Nintendo's portfolio). An old abandoned IP is also probably guaranteed to be received well unless it's something people believe that Nintendo was right to abandon. Doing DK would get some backlash, and I think Metroid would get some as well but in a smaller amount.
I don't think a huge backlash is inevitable since I think there are a few "crowdpleasers" they could release, but I do think some backlash is guaranteed. There is no way they'll please everyone, and no matter what, a group of people will be disappointed.
Reallly? In the last 10 years:Agreed. They almost ALWAYS underwhelm at E3.
Reallly? In the last 10 years:
2006: Decent
2007: Underwhelming
2008: Awful
2009: Pretty good
2010: Very good
2011: Good
2012: Good outside of fireworks ending
2013: Good (but boring format due to being first digital presentation)
2014: Very good (perfected the digital presentation format)
2015: Underwhelming, but entertaining
2016: We were told going in it would only be Zelda/Treehouse, so I'd say expectations were exceeded with what we got.
They've had about 3 negatively received shows with only 1 being one of historically awful E3 shows. The other 7 were received pretty positively with 2 being amazing.
