She should ditch those bozos and hang with some real superfriends

The "I love you" bit should have been cut. Just leave it at "I wish we had more time".
I did too.Hisscene was especially good, dude really made me feel feelings. My wifedeath, of course.cried
Jim Carrey can headline as Plas in Justice League 2I can't believe it's 2017 and we still haven't had a Plastic Man film.
Screw Superman and Batman, they're too far gone
Make it Diana-centric and leave those losers in the pile
I think you're reading the tomato meter completely incorrectly. It simply means that as of now 93% of the critics that reviewed the movie that are counted on RT have given it a positive review. It's not a rating of said movie on a scale out of 100. It doesn't determine to what extent they enjoyed the movie, only that they did. Do you honestly think it's unrealistic that 93% of these critics liked the movie? How is that sexism? The lack of female superhero movies (and the terrible quality of the few that have been made) have made this movie a political football. There's a lot of people who really, really want this to succeed. In my opinion, it's pretty good, but not high 90s good, relative to what other superhero films have been getting. But like I said, if people liked it more than I did, that's fine too.

I agree, and I think that was the right choice.I feel like ultimately they don't care all that much about consistency with BvS at the expense of telling the story they want.
No, I know how the Tomatometer works, and in theory it's possible for 100% of critics to rate a movie positively while only rating it a 3/5 (which is reflected in RT and Metacritic's rating systems). But you don't usually see that. When a blockbuster gets above 90% (hell, when a movie in general does that), it's rare; only the very best of the genre manage it, generally. If you had asked me in isolation to guess this movie's RT score, I'd have said mid 80s. But like I said in the original quote, maybe people just did like it better than I did (and I quite liked it).I think you're reading the tomato meter completely incorrectly. The romance angle is going to turn quite a few heads im sure, but for the better i think we need more couples in animated/comic book movies that actually work together, not simply ignoring it or making predictably cookie cutter kisses.Reading around online, and man, the internet is about to be really fucking weird about this movie.
I mentioned it earlier in the thread, but otside of the Ares madness, I think the most nonsensical part of this movie was that cocaine gas Dr. Maru created. Like if you have a gas that can turn dudes into supersoldiers, who even cares about creating a toxic hydrogen gas? :lol
I hate that this actually makes sense. They can rediscover it in the future and use it for DCEU Bane.
Also, WW should have just told Steve to take a knee and threw that plane into the atmosphere.
I liked the scene where she got ice cream a lot.
I'm hoping there is a pizza scene in the sequel.
I just saw the movie, and dear lord, it is WAY TOO LONG. The middle of this movie draaags. I actually really liked the first thirty minutes or so, but the rest of it was pretty boring. Doesn't help that it basically apes the plot structure of Captain America and quite literally steals a Captain America setpiece for the finale.
Wonder Woman is only marginally better than the other DC movies, imo. Way disappointed over here.
I'd call this the best superhero romance of the current age of superhero films. It being "one and done" is a help there, since it can do a whole arc, so we don't have to worry about some bullshit like Tony and Pepper breaking up offscreen because Gwyneth Paltrow is too expensive of whatever. The romance angle is going to turn quite a few heads im sure, but for the better i think we need more couples in animated/comic book movies that actually work together, not simply ignoring it or making predictably cookie cutter kisses.
LOL, I thought the same thing. Doctor Poison can create a gas that turns dudes into superhumans, but has a hard time creating a gas that corrodes gas masks? I'm pretty sure we have existing chemicals that can do that.I mentioned it earlier in the thread, but otside of the Ares madness, I think the most nonsensical part of this movie was that cocaine gas Dr. Maru created. Steve Trevor's final act is eerily similar to Steve Rogers' actions at the end of The First Avenger. It steals a setpiece from Cap?
None of the reviews I've read talked about that.
I mean, yeah. The romance is definitely part of it. I've already seen some accuse Steve of mansplaining - which, to be sure, is a fair read even if it's not one I agree with. The romance angle is going to turn quite a few heads im sure, but for the better i think we need more couples in animated/comic book movies that actually work together, not simply ignoring it or making predictably cookie cutter kisses.

Yeah, I was concerned about that, because while I get that the movie probably can't be too explicit about the Amazons having same-sex relationships, actively nuking the notion by including dialogue of that nature would have been a wholly unnecessary action. There was some rumor months ago that the Amazons in the film didn't know what sex was. At least that turned out to be false.

Minor thing: Hippolyta says that if Diana leaves she may not come back, which...why, exactly? Steve and the Germans found it easily enough.

Oh....at least that makes sense.
I can see Trevor doing something like that.
I took it as more of a hey if you leave this place there's a possibility you won't come back kinda thing, not like she's forbidden from ever returning.
We at least know they will reunite in JL.
Not really. We know there is a battle where Amazons are involved but that's at the prologue. We at least know they will reunite in JL.
So the Amazons leave the island, which is a huge deal according to WW's movie, have a massive battle but they never meet with Diana?
That would be pretty dumb.
I thought the movie was great, definitely best DCEU movie so far, and hopefully a sign of things to come. Gal was awesome, she played an amazing role as an optimistic, hopeful hero who genuinely wants to believe the good in people and save them all. Chris Pine outdid his own Kirk by far. He was charming, witty, flawed, and always trying to show Diana what the world is really like but also rekindle her belief in humanity's good. Hisscene was especially good, dude really made me feel feelings. My wifedeath, of course.cried
I see that DC/WB can do it. Please please please fix Superman now. There are already now two movie heroes that out-Superman Superman.
Did it need an explanation? She's an Amazon. They dress like that. Also not much explanation for her costume or why she even bothers wearing a tiara with it too.
