The font matches the S logo which was trademarked by MS.

So i guess the Console will be named Scorpio?

The font is completely different...

I'm both scared and excited for the conference this year... However many years back, the decision to pull funds from 3rd party deals and focus on first party seemed fantastic. Now, here we are with everything going to Sony and MS still slacking big time on exclusive games.

I really hope MS is able to not only blow us away with titles we know about (like crackdown, state of decay 2) but also announce / reveal a couple of new titles that get everyone excited about the platform again.

MS seems to be doing everything else right outside of the actual games... Xbox Live platform, backwards compatibility stuff, monthly subscription service, etc. But the games are important, they really need to step it up in that area as well.

Fingers crossed!

I'm still not sure if I should buy a Xbox Scorpio or not. I mean I really want to but on the other hand I already got a PC with a 1080 and it seems like every Xbox title is coming for PC anyways soo...I really dont know.

With scorpio being 399/449 do you see the One S dropping to to 200/250?

I really thing the sweet spot would be
399 scorpio
199 One S
+- triple de power,
double the price

Microsoft won't be demonstrating Xbox VR at E3 as it shifts focus to wireless headsets

Microsoft has said before that it plans to support mixed reality headsets on Xbox One and the upcoming Project Scorpio console in 2018, but the company won't even be teasing its VR plans at E3 this year. In an interview with Polygon, Microsoft technical fellow Alex Kipman says Microsoft is focused solely on mixed reality for Windows 10 PCs at the moment.

"We believe that right now a Windows PC is the best platform for mixed reality as its open ecosystem and enormous installed base offer the best opportunity for developers, and Windows offers the most choices for consumers," explains Kipman. "Windows has been the birthplace of a variety of technologies, and we believe this will hold for mixed reality too. Given the efforts we have underway on Windows for mixed reality, and our belief that console VR should be wireless, right now we are focused on developing mixed reality experiences for the PC, not on the console."

$449+$60 game + $50 for XBL = $560 +7% sales tax takes it up to $600 out the door. That is too pricey in my opinion. This is a case where the $50, which is really the price of 3-4 drinks at a nice bar, has a huge difference in optics.

$449 including a game bundles (Ps4 Pro didn't come with a game bundled)
$60 Xbox Live Gold subscription only for people who are new to the platform

$399 + $60 game + $50 XBL + 7% = close to $550
expensive, too if you see it that way

399 scorpio
199 One S
+- triple de power,

with 1TB Ps4 Slim being on sale for $249 regularly and likely permanent later, yes ofc
Xbox One S needs a price cut

So if the final name will be Scorpio will it be:

1.) Xbox One Scorpio
2.) Xbox Scorpio
3.) Scorpio

Personally, I love the name Scorpio for the unit, but I think #2 is what it will be. I think removing the "one" is the right path.

Thoughts?

Project Scorpio Xbox / PSX

With an 1080 I'm not sure it it's worth it (maybe if the console is cheaper than expected). It also depends on how much you enjoy playing on PC, but giving your GPU I'm pretty sure you like it a lot. I'd recommend you wait the hype momentum pass before you decide.

Good, more time for actual games. Save that VR stuff for the PC show or Windows events and whatnot.

Exactly. I'd like to think even the Scorpio stuff will be minimal. New console, price, date, etc. but they've already revealed a lot of the specs. I don't want time wasted on little details, just keep the focus on games.

It will be $399. People are stil trying to convince themselves that it will be higher so they can go "OMG, it's 399!!!", when the price is revealed.

I don't know. Surface Laptop is more expensive than many have suspected ($999 for the version with Core i5 and 4 GB RAM). Would they still make a profit at $399?

Kinda figured it would be wireless when the console has no hdmi out.

How does it hook up to a TV then?

edit: Anyway, glad they are not wasting conference time to demonstrate VR. To me, that's never really translated well when companies try to demo that. It's something you need to experience to really understand any benefit.

No VR? Goooooood!

You know what would make me go completely batshit crazy?

MS announcing a partnership with EA and BioWare for Jade Empire 2. I would lose it and I don't easily lose it.

Or even as a multiplatform game, Jesus bring us a second Jade Empire. Shame it never happened!

Oh my goodness! My long lost brother!

Something Jade Empire related would be incredible.

I remember last year they were saying how it was going to focus on the games, there would be lots of awesome suprises, the best lineup etc, but so far i haven't seen anything even slightly along those lines. Am i just missing it?

The two posts above just seem to be sort of factual things rather than trying to get people excited about it.

I'm curious on how Sony will react to Scorpio's price. If it's $399 I think they'll cut the Pro's price. If it's $449 I'm not sure if they will.

They did focus on games last year. Sony just had a great bit of fortune landing Nioh, Persona 5, and Nier basically free of charge on a home town discount. Sony's outstanding exclusives just made everything else look worse in comparison.
