I personally believe there will be more to the tournament, as spending time introducing all the other GoDs and strongest warriors during this phase wouldn't go to waste.
It can be either:
  • Participating universes are merged via wish
  • A large scale war with the Zenos fighting each other.
 
I wonder how long the actual tourney is going to be. Its actually amazing to think that the Zamasu/FT arc was the last arc seems so long away. Trunks was gone in November, its fucking June.

This arc was announced in December and the tournament that is one of the main points of advertisement isn't starting until July.
Das sum crazy shit.
Toriyama might be 2 or more arc outlines ahead of the anime by the time this arc ends.

Hell, in Portugal during the first broadcast of Z, for some reason when they got int early Buu Saga (shortly after SSJ3 Goku became a thing) they had to restart the show for one reason or another. Even the episode itself was dubbed in such a way (and later redubbed properly) that implied they had to start over but they would return.

And when I mean start over I mean from literally DB. Crazy!

5 episodes a week from Mon to Fri. Way easier to digest at least in Latam.
Edit: Oh original as in Japanese broadcast? I didn't watch that lol, I was like 6 and didn't even speak English back then and my Japanese was nonexistent.
 
the very first showing of DBZ would have bored me to death, I watched the english version mon-fri after school which was a lot nicer, but they still repeated them often while waiting for a new chunk of translated episodes, I must have watched the saiyan saga 3 times over before they started on namek.

There is nothing taboo about getting a dead guy. Time travel, however, have been called taboo by everyone and is one of the few laws of the gods that Beerus gives a damn about. Beerus was seriously considering blowing up Earth over it and Whis was so upset that he didn't want to train Goku.

Also, Frieza is U7's problem.
 
I remember watching the Majin Vegeta arc a lot, where it ended at Vegeta sacrificing himself.

I think the first episode I watched of DBZ was Yamcha getting blown up by a Saibamen.

Breaking at Majin Vegeta was a pain because the NEP would show Buu regenerating, so you knew what happened.
 
if I lived in japan at the time I would have been reading the dragon ball manga, so week to week it would have been a loooot better than the db/dbz anime

wonder if future zeno even realizes he time traveled

maybe they will want to destroy everyone in U7 for supporting time travelers and the goku goes 'but lord zeno, you yourself time traveled'

No offense, but very few fans outside of Japan saw the original run of Dragon Ball. So the question of "how many would have survived the original run of Dragon Ball" can't really be answered since no here had to. The closest you have is comparing One Piece anime, which a lot of people hate the pacing and padding to the point of waiting several weeks or months before marathoning.
 
Daily episode of DBZ was fuckin GOAT. Used to talk about it all day at school to go home and watch a new hype ass episode. Thats the only reason the pacing was tolerable.

The fucking worst was when theyd have a break between arcs for what felt like 50 years.

I think that's why it baffles me that people are complaining about how it's taking "forever" to get to the tournament.

These episodes are fast paced as fuck. It probably feels that way compared to DB/Z because it's not a manga adaptation. Go back and watch DB or DBZ and see for yourself!

I'm actually way overdue for a Kai rewatch, I gotta refresh my memory.
 
For the record, Europe got Dragon Ball before Z so most fans saw that.

Really the only argument you can make is "americans didn't see it", because the rest of the world certainly did.

And that's not even all americans.

Japan had a manga as others have pointed out that moved faster than the anime. And the anime wasn't even that far behind the manga.
 
An episode a week of D B Z, which is how I assume the original broadcast worked, would be a nightmare. Especially with stuff like Fake Namek
