It's too late is the problem. SFV has had some of the worst sales legs for a game in the states. Capcom fucked up. They fucked up bad. I really don't think you can salvage it. If they present Super SFV, that better be the best damn trailer on the planet because it'll take a lot to convince people to even remotely care. Especially now that we have stuff like Injustice 2 and Tekken 7 out. And your on stage presenting the Super version of a game that barely shipped with enough content to satisfy the core base, if that.

The main thing a "Super" version will do is give it another media cycle. Patches don't get that. So, it's critical for them to have a level of content that's ready on Day 1 that may be able to swing people over. The gameplay has never been in question, so if they can get the content to the right level then they'll get a lot of positive press for that version.

I'm thinking Super Street Fighter V will be a end of the year or early next year thing, it wouldn't do them any good to advertise it this far in advance. So E3 appearance is super unlikely. PSX is when they'll do it. And yeah, the reason it's a big deal is because it gets a new round of reviews as well that will bring it back into the spotlight of people who wrote off SFV initially due to a relatively barebones launch.

I wonder what they'll show for The Lost Legacy at E3. ND said it'll have the biggest area they've created in an Uncharted game, I hope they don't spoil that in a demo, but at the same time it'd probably be the most impressive thing to show.
Then again TLL might not even be at the conference.

IMO the people who think Detroit won't be in the conference are crazy. I'd be shocked if they delegated that to post E3/ Pre E3 release.

I think they will likely just show some epic setpiece on stage and save the large open spaces for a demo on the show floor. For the conference they will have a limited amount of time to show off the game so it doesn't make sense to show off the exploration aspects but i could be wrong. Although I could see them going big open spaces since the previous demo was a claustrophobic Indian street.

Detroit will definitely be there. The demo last year was awesome and we haven't seen it since so now is the time.

Happy Kojima is gonna go dark for at least a bit with Death Stranding, I just really hope Naughty Dog follows suit with The Last of Us Part II.

I'm excited, but knowing it's coming is all I needed. Just shut up until the game is somewhat closer please.

A lot of people took Layden's comment on what games will be at E3 was taken to heart too much. I personally believed he meant that those are the 5 main games that will be pushed and demoed, and by that logic there's no reason they can't simply show a new Detroit trailer with a release window/date.

Totally agree with this. Makes no sense to market 6-9 games. 5 may be the maximum and I think Sony is giving QD more time to polish it. A summer release is very likely

Oh boy, only one fanbase will be happy this E3....
I think the Monster Hunter fans can probably wait a press conference for yet another Monster Hunter game. They got that MHXX game coming out for Switch even.

DMC fans on the other hand are too famished and dehydrated. We can't take another dose of salt.

I'm going dark starting Friday afternoon. I think that's a reasonable time to get all the hype in but still avoid the major leaks that will inevitably happen over the weekend and into Monday.

It's either Monster Hunter or DMC. I don't see Capcom revealing two new AAA games
They still have to show Resident Evil 2 Remake.

And I highly doubt Capcom has enough resources to work in 2 big Monster Hunter games at the same time. Especially if one of them needs to remake all the game assets to look decently on PS4. Unless it's highly moneyhatted by Capcom and it's co-developed or if not fully developed by an important external team.

I think they will show RE2R, a SFV update and if announce a new game it would make more sense a DmC2 or DMC5 with Itsuno + Ninja Theory teaming up again. NT is working in 4 projects, they mentioned Capcom as example of good relationship with publishers, Capcom mentioned NT as exception of not being happy with western devs.

I will be very surprised if they show RE2 this year. By the sound of it the real development didn't start until last year and Capcom usually likes to announce games relatively soon before release. That and we still have 2 major RE7 DLC episodes to go.

That said I would pass out if the conference started with it. Pitch black, silence for a moment. And then this plays and narration starts.

What two big Monster Hunter games? There's the rumored console game and what else?

But we MH fans have gotten the same PS2 graphics for years, we surely wouldn't mind seeing some HD monsters on the big screen. You DMC fans have gotten some quality HD stuff during the years.

I know this is going to turn me into an instant punching bag, but all this MH talk is just making me want a Toukiden 3 announcement.

I finally started T2 over the weekend and I'm struggling to put it down- even with Wipeout releasing yesterday. O__O

I love Toukiden so much.
Having an entry that leverages the full power of the current gen platforms would be amazing.

Real or fake?

Come to think of it, all I really wish to see is PSVR. I'm debating getting one so I hope Sony announces some cool stuff. Other than that I *kind of* know what to expect. God of War, Spider-Man, Days Gone, Detroit, GT Sport... They are all really interesting to me and I know they will look great. As for release dates, I've learned how to be patient gamer. I can wait.

I'm in a very similar position honestly. I'm hoping for a VR price drop and some cool announcements to finally push me to pick it up.

Capcom stopped outsourcing.

How many MH games have come out since 2013 cause I'm 100% sure it's more than DMC games released in that same time frame.

That's what I was thinking.

The scale in T2 is great, but even on my Pro it looks dated. Low quality textures/filtering, aliasing, effects. I'm not asking for bleeding edge HZD level, but a significant bump would be nice.

I also hope they put more effort into the Western version if they do T3. There's a lot of stuff that isn't well explained in T2, and there's a lot of subtitles missing- especially when you're in a hunting party and your NPC's randomly chatter. I think the translations could be better done too.

If we end up getting a new entry with a different title I'd still be happy though. Won't get my hopes up, it'll probably be at TGS anyway.

I've been told by someone about a "huge AAA" PSVR game that Sony will show at E3. Didn't get the name of it but I can try and get it.

How big is big? Like Farpoint level, or actual AAA level?

Edit : Aww just saw your follow up post. Now we will ready our pitch fork if there's no huge AAA PSVR game.

If SSM is capable of doing more projects along GOW I´d rather they make PS All Stars in house instead of VR.
A VR game must be an easier pitch internally though.

The entire conference should be a 10 minute Death Stranding gameplay opener followed by Knack 2 with a dedicated orchestra showing 50 mins of gameplay (commentated by Cerny).

Anything else would be a massive blunder by Sony.

It seems like they are definitely not capable of that as they havent really released any big game on the PS4 yet at all.

The SciFi game that got cancelled really hurt their output this gen it seems.

Death Stranding won't be there so we'll get 60 minutes of Knack 2 instead

I hope so, every night before I go to bed I pray that Sony opens with 10 minutes of a new Jet Moto and then goes right into Knack 2, I want a trailer, game play, menu overview, release date, DLC, pre-order bonus details.

I wonder if we get something (trailer/PS blog post) from Sony (larger scale project/s than Hellblade) for pre-E3 week today, would have expected something by now.

MHTri on Wii U, MHXX on Switch. Two HD MHs, two HD DMCs.

Cross off GOW opening, BB2, KH3, LBP VR. RDR2 has 5% to be there.

Replace them with From's Armored Core and teaser for new IP with Sony Japan. Deep Down will be reintroduced with Itsuno heading the project, so no DMC5 (Sorry DMC fans ;P). In addition, PSABR 2 being developed by Capcom. Finally, close the show with Rogue galaxy 2, Legend of dragoon 2 and Dark Cloud 3 as appreciation gifts for PS fans.

Deep Down is an online game under Division 2, which is Ono's department. Itsuno is division 1. Even if that isn't an issue, Capcom isn't putting Itsuno on Deep Down anyway.

Tameem stated recently that Hellblade is the biggest project they're working on atm. And like Neonep said Capcom is not outsourcing any new titles overseas for the foreseeable future.
