It's kind of crazy to think that a AAA Spiderman is exclusive to a console.

You go hard with the marketing, you can reach a REALLY far audience. Like, I'm talking casuals and shit. Spiderman, if its GOOD, will do bonkers for PS4.

Ive been sating this since last e3 a spiderman ps4 bundle at $199 will fly off shelves

Not E3 related but: personal speculation:
Fromsoft's new IP won't be an exclusive but rather a multiplat. Wouldn't make sense for the next step in their ARPG evolution to be exclusive if they plan to kick start something new with this, especially after the massive fanbase they've gained across all platforms.

I could be wrong as I have no idea on whether or not they're still working with Sony (and even if i askes i don't think id get an answer) but that seems like the most logical direction.

The multiplat that has psvr?

I remember seeing some rumors about Sony having a 3 game contract with From, Bloodborne being one of them. Wonder if there was ever any truth to that.

I'm personally not expecting any From Software game to be PS exclusive at E3 this year, unless it's BB2 (which probably isn't going to show up anytime soon).

I am loving how there are no leaks this year.

Theres nothing like actually being surprised during the conferences. Makes up for a much better experience.

I guess my only disappointment ATM if I ever is no FF7 remake or KH3 showing. It is what it is but God of War will be there and that is so awesome. I'm a huge Kratos fan.

Dat Spider-Man though. I want to see more gameplay and TLOU 2. Let's go!!!!!

Yeah, like i said I've no idea on any of that and I don't think that's information id be allowed to get. Though i know that Bloodborne was made out of good will between Sony and Fromsoft, so I don't think they would put Fromsoft under any contractual obligation, but even of they did, it doesn't necessarily mean that Fromsoft's next game or IP has to be with Sony.

What´s your opinion on these statements?
http://www.dualshockers.com/sony-pr...huhei-yoshida-aims-2017-playstation-software/

That plus the photo Yoshida posted with Miyazaki really makes me think that´s from software related.
Well, Sony Japan were the producers for Bloodborne, they didn't actually develop Bloodborne. So producer of Bloodborne just refers to someone that made sure the project went smoothly and that Sony did whatever they could to help out.

I don't really have any opinion on it one way or another. But looking at it from a Fromsoft perspective, if this is the next evolution in Fromsoft ARPGs and even possibly the start of a new series, you'd want it to reach as many people as possible.

If we go off of what Capcom has said...

"major title" due out by 2018, and we just knocked out

DMC
Dragons Dogma

What else is Capcom known for? Definitely not those two cause I barley know of them.

Capcom ain't putting Itsuno of all people on a project he has never worked on. No way he's working on Monster Hunter.

Goes to hot topic website.

Theres one of them. I saw another but cant find a pic

Happy New Year!
The next project has already begun.
Please wait to look forward to but can not be announced.

Happy New Year! I exert myself in order to announce a new game this year. Thank you.

Well from this you can tell the game has been in development for a long time. Given the timeline it seems to have started right after or not too long after DMC4:SE was released.

Now Capcom has pretty much only focused on major franchises the past few years (Street Fighter, Dead Rising, Monster Hunter, and Resident Evil). Also based off of the financial report from either last year or this year they consider Devil May Cry a major franchise. Also given the reception of DmC and how that game didn't do to well, everything is pointing to DMC5 happening.

BELIEVE!!

Totally agree.

Could this happen, Sony shows the games, like a lot including the ones that we already know and towards the end of the conference they drop hints about the future of playstation in 2019?

2019 is too early for PS5 imo
and there would be no point in hinting at an announcement that would be coming two years later

Who wouldn't? it was better than DMC4!

No, but it was better in some aspects like aesthetics, some general controls(moving/dodging/camera) and boss fights

I know the game was edgelord central but I agree on the aesthetics, I also really enjoyed the music and the gameplay in general. Story and characters could all be improved but I didn't mind where they were before and I thought the art design across the board was stellar. I've never played any of the original DMC games though and my experience with DmC was on 360.

The PS4 was released in what 2013. A PS5 releasing in 2019 isn't too far off. That would be a 6 year gap. Remember last gen was more of the exception not the norm given the financial crisis some years back.

I expect 2019 but anything beyond that would be nice.

2020 is my bet and personal preference, wouldn't even mind 2021. But this generation really only feels like its just getting started and has a whole lot of life left in it, and I believe that iterative consoles will only make the generations last longer as there's even less of a reason to advance to new hardware at a quicker pace. This gen still has a lot of potential before I feel like we need new hardware.

Iterative consoles change the game quite a bit though. The whole point of having a new generation is to take advantage of new hardware, but with iterative consoles like the pro and the scorpio that line starts to blur.

Why oh why would you want that :(
DMC5 or new IP DmC can root in hell .

Because I'm a filthy blasphemer that doesn't know what good things are
allegedly

Too early, why bother going thru all that trouble just to 1up MS. They have the lead, a substantial first party catalog and are chugging along to 60 million consoles sold. Finish up these last 3.5 years of ps4 life and comeout swinging with a ps5 that supports 8k (sony, samsung, etc are already working on it).

He's mostly likely Itsuno's game producer, like he was in D'sD and DMC4.

Most likely. On one hand I like them working together and they make excellent games together. On the other I would like for Capcom is hire a bunch of young talent and give Kobayashi his own team and they can work on something else like Dino Crisis or a new IP.

Completely agreed.

I imagine devs are just getting into the groove of things as well. Like, they are not ready for all that comes with a new gen again (engine stuff, general costs, etc...).

This is true. Yeah I don't know how long it will have to take between generations. Wouldn't at some point the PS4 Pro have to become the standard PS4 before a PS5 hit the market though?

I can't say I'd be surprised if we hit that point later in the generation after the pro recieves some price drops. But its all really new ground so no one really knows for sure. I just don't see this generation ending any time soon and might possibly even be longer than last gen.

I also think that when next gen comes, what ever Microsoft, Nintendo, & Sony have, it will all be backwards compatible current gen.

I don't see Sony launching a next gen console until after these games have released:

GTA 6
TLoU 2
Elder Scrolls 6
Death Stranding

Those are four extremely high-profile AAA IPs that have yet to launch this gen; releasing PS5 afterwards will even allow for next-gen remasters of these games to pad out the console's launch window.

I would be pretty pissed if not. I definitely think BC is here to stay on Microsoft consoles but Sony is questionable and if i can't take my digital library with me to the PS5 i think it would be worth switching main consoles again provided MS gets their first party act together.

Lol

I think because of the mid gen refresh, we might see a similar wait for the new consoles as we did last gen. I don't expect the next gen consoles before 2020.
