Now that Xenoverse 3 will have a 2 year development cycle, I am expecting it to be loaded with content and finally getting transformations right. They should also clean up the UI for the character selection because it so cluttered with 100 transformations of characters that should be under one slot. BT3 organized the characters perfectly.

More than 2 isn't it? I highly doubt XV3 hits the same year as Fighters.

Hey I'm not necessarily for the idea, I just think it's a possibility lol

I like Super's 17! Not sure if it would be just an extra skin or if they'd actually update the character to have techniques from the 17/Goku fight or whatever he ends up using in the upcoming tournament.

Also, you should be happy, Piccolo is a playable character.

I'm not doubting you whatsoever but how do you know this? I remember that Bandai used to have great communication with the community way back when, I take it this is still going?

I've teased it enough so that people here know I wasn't making shit up. ;o

Now keep in mind it's entirely possible they've changed things since I saw it. :D
 
My favorite fighting game devs making this game makes me even happier. I feel sorry for people who hate GG/BB style gameplay and combo system. Assuming this game does well I can see somebody wanting them to do another anime fighting game. Persona Arena was good.

Goku = Sol/Ragna
Vegeta = Ky/Jin

ASW would make me a very happy if they, much like ARIKA and Super DBZ before them, gave Piccolo a moveset that remembers he's got stretchy arms.
 
Maybe somebody should do a big list and think who somebody will play as. I know most people in GG/BB use weapons.

I swear if most the cast play like that cheap ass Nu-13, Mu 12, Lambda-11 the game can fuck right off. lol. I know they spam projectiles a lot in DBZ but they better not make it annoying like that since I love melee characters more.

Considering this is an arcsys game, we're probably going to be good on rushdown characters, haha.
Though Nu is a really cool zoning character that takes a lot of work to get down right, and I really hope we have some of that too since playstyle diversity is always a good thing.

but they can't do a roster too big.... unless you want thousand of clone AGAIN.... fucking 15 years that we got too much clones in these DB games

i want smaller roster, but with a unique moveset for each characters

i don't see why 3 vs 3 goes against that.... 15-20 characters is enough
 
You can have unique movesets with a large roster as shown in the King of Fighters franchise and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. Why would you specifically want a smaller roster for an IP like Dragon Ball? I don't expect a big roster for the first iteration of an ArcSys game but they do a pretty good job in differentiating character movesets.
 
Go to sleep, wake up to find the Dragonball fighting game I've wanted from arcsys since the second I played an arc sys game is being made.

Because both those games used existing movesets from past games for half their roster.

DBZ is brand new.

Also, DBZ shits on those games production wise. There's a reason KOF looks the way it does.

lol Arc very rarely do clones. Only time they did semi clones is how some characters in GG and BB play similar and that's it. In the one game they don't have clones. I'm not sure if you play BB or GG games the movesets so unique it's hard to master more than 2 characters.

They completely abused clones in their DBZ 3Ds games because the roster was really poor so I'm sure they felt they had to "clone" to fake the number up.

I'm afraid they're doing the opposite here and getting rid of base Goku and stuff. =( shame cause I prefer base Goku over SSJ Goku.

I said it in the other thread, but Arcsys is very good about giving unique movesets to their characters, even in the few occasions they have clones.

However, knowing what I do about how GGXrd's characters are created, I still wouldn't expect a massive roster. The exact number will depend on how long this has been in development though.
 
I don't even give a shit about the roster. Arc Sys is so good, I don't need fanservice to be excited about a new fighter from them.
That said, I wish I could get them in a room to explain to them 17 needs to be a grappler.

17 a grappler hmm if they make him one I can see his playstyle similar too Bullet.

Remember his original fights. Choke hold on Tien, and that super hype giant swing he did on Piccolo. 17 used a lot of grapples in his move pool compared to most Z fighters. Broly being the only exception I can think of.

The art style is simpler this time around and the moveset a bit less complex because they are doing a 3vs3.
I would expect 20 to 25 max characters at launch, including DLC.

Certainly not 15.

I don't think you'll see characters with Xrd level depth though. Being a 3 on 3, characters will probably be somewhat simplified.

I can see a few fighters in the Tournament of Power being DLC unless they surprise us. I can see Hit having a very unique play style. That one dude that grabbed goku in the test fight will be a grappler for sure if they ever put him in.

I see I'm only coming from their GG, Persona, Arcana hearts, and BB style games I liked.

This look to be GG graphics with a cast as big as Arcana hearts. Question is how long have they been working on this.

Well, if we go by this article from Siliconera, which was the first time (to my knowledge), that ASW was talking about a "Tag fighter" as a concept, this sounds like something they may have been worked on for maybe two years.

i would leave out Bardock, Nappa And Radditz, they're not that interesting and they don't stay that long in the original work

He's clearly a waste of a slot but they've made him playable before so it's less work to get him for this game than say 17 that needs everything from scratch.

Do we really need Raditz? Maybe if they intend to follow the DBZ storyline he's important, but other than that he's as bland as they come. I'd take any of the missing characters over him.

I agree completely but I think they're trying to represent the "sagas".

In EB, each saga had two villains :

Nappa Raditz, Frieza Ginyu, 18 Cell, Buu kid Buu.

I sure hope they let that die because it's stupid. I'm OK with Nappa but let Raditz go, having an "android saga" with literally 1 android is pretty pathetic.

Bardock is too popular, he hasn't skipped a single game made in the past ten years and they have his character sheet done. He's here to stay.

Its maybe the best fight devs in the world right now, making a license game. Like, DBZ might go to EVO lol.
