Based on what I know, what I have been told, and the details of the system, I expect a higher price then most seem to. Gun to my head, I'd say $499, though again that is my estimate, I am not presenting that as fact. It's a lot of expensive tech and MS isn't interested in losing money.

If it's $399? That would be amazing. I don't at all think that will happen, but I'd be very happpy if it did.

That's fair. I'm expecting $499 so I'm not let down. If it's $399 then great, but I don't want my opinion of the conference to be hampered by an unrealistic price expectation.

They have Scorpio, they have MC, they have their already announced first party ames (and the couple obvious additional ones), they have AC, Anthem, and SoW... it's not like they can't fill the time.

Still seems like a lot of padding would have to be in there thinking about past MS and Sony shows. Curious to see how they pace it now.

If Sony managed to hit 399$ with a 4.2tf system in 2016, there is no reason why Microsoft cant hit 399$ with a 6tf system in 2017.

More RAM, a more advanced cooling system, higher clocked parts, a 4K drive, all of these things add up, even a year later.

Whatever the final price is, it costs a fair bit more to build than the Pro did.

It sold more as an exclusive than it did multiplat.

Is there any source on that? and 2 failed because EA fucked it hard bot because it went multiplat.

So their first party isn't so hot, Sony has most of the marketing deals yet they're extending PAST 97 minutes? What the hell are they going to talk about? Either they have games stashed or it's going to be the longest indie showcase in the history of E3.

Crackown 3 and SoT might have a lengthy gameplay as well as Forza 7. There is Shadow of Mordor and Anthem and Madden plus AC: Origins, plus whatever new announcements and hardware talking they have. I expect them to also bring some games that they have no marketing deals with just to demo them on Scorpio.

Microsoft doesn't need a ton of new exclusives, but they do need to do a better job showing us what's in the pipeline. It's not so much about numbers of exclusives because naturally Scorpio owners will have plenty of awesome stuff to play. That said, I expect people do want to see Microsoft's future aspirations for the kinds of games they want to bring to the platform.

I'd love nothing more than for a Sakaguchi title to be announced, but I understand the odds are pretty long

I doubt that, unless they don't ship much.

The One S will sell more.

Well of course it will. Mass market don't care about better tech if there is something cheaper on sale that will basically do the same thing. I don't think the price matters much. People interested in new tech will buy it anyway.

Hopefully, MS will have a great showing but its best to keep expectations in check. A member of the Xbox dev team posted stuff on Reddit. He says Phils got the conference locked down. They have no idea what they have planned. They got no idea what games will be shown, the final name of the console or even its price so at this point don't pay too much attention to online leaks or insiders. Just go in blind and see how the conference goes. In the end, it can only go 2 ways.

My guess is that they're going to show everything that they have.

I'm not gonna do that, but in the past I have said I was unhappy with MS's lack of commitment to a strong first party development stable, and I do not believe this E3 will change that.

Would love to be wrong though.

i hope this is just you setting the bar low for us to be pleasantly surprised. :)

Oh yeah, I know. I tend to forget rumors and expectations once the curtains raise up. Can't wait!

Just wait and see tomorrow, it's not like he knows the entire show. If an engineer doesn't know he's not gonna know.

Also, show has been confirmed to be longer than 97 minutes per greenberg.

With that said.

My final price prediction is 449, which is absolutely okay for me.

Everyone on Sunday for a better world.

I mean, how many people call in sick to stay home to watch E3? Probably not that many. But worldwide? A few hundred thousand? a few million maybe? Make everyone's lives easier and put the damn things on Saturday and Sunday and make the following Monday to Wednesday the official show floor days of E3.

I thought $499 originally. But I just can't see that they designed the console for that price after getting burned so badly 4 years ago. Like surely they haven't put all this effort in, built the hype, then nobody gives a fuck because you can get a PS4 Protato for $150 less.

To be honest I think that what Ms really needs is more multiplataform games. Meaning not letting other platforms have exclusive games from 3rd parties unless there's an deal.

In other words, what they really need is to bring Yakuza, Persona 5, Nier, KH remaster and so on to Xbox.

No dont, its a slap in the face for all those working hard to knock our socks off. We'll know in less then 24 hrs

He already said what's coming now.

They have Scorpio, they have MC, they have their already announced first party ames (and the couple obvious additional ones), they have AC, Anthem, and SoW... it's not like they can't fill the time.

Which all doesn't sound as if they are investing heavily into first party. But we knew as much as that already.

Why would he do that? Much easier to be like "I know something you don't know", and be an "insider". That way even if you are full of fairytales, no one will ever know.
Dude, stop it. I'm being honest about what I think and what I know, there isn't any of what you described going on. I'm excited about the event, and I'm just looking to share some of my thoughts here like everyone else. Lay off.

Agreed. But I'm also interested in smaller indies that are 3rd-party and exclusive, like 999 or The Talos Principle.

Totally unacceptable how MS has shit the bed in that regards. I mean Microsoft 1st-party versus Sony 1st-party is one thing. But the amount of 3rd-party devs passing on Xbox is a clear failure of Microsoft's own doing.

RAM prices a year later are cheaper. Sony themselves have been driving the price of GDDR5 RAM down for 4 years. The 4K drives have already been shown to be barely more expensive than a standard drive. Again, the One S has been driving the price of that down for a year.

The "higher clocked" parts are still ultimately similar part to the Pro.

It's going to be $399 or less. Microsoft has been playing this one beautifully actually having people believe it's going to be higher.

Best case scenario at this point is what, 2 or 3 big, unexpected announcements?

I mean, we probably know close to 80-85% of the conference at this point.

Sea of Thieves
Crackdown 3
State of Decay 2
Forza
Minecraft
Anthem
Assassin's Creed
ID@Xbox + Cuphead/Ashen/Below
Scorpio

Considering a lot of those games are pretty likely to get extended gameplay demos I'd say the majority of the conference is somewhat of a known entity.

He's spilled the beans:

OK, well, we will see! That would be fantastic if you were right.

Of those, Nier is all I can realistically see coming to Xbox. Nintendo has a better chance of getting those than MS.

Unless you got some insider doing some splinter cell type work collecting internal documents for you, I wouldn't be so sure. Not saying your wrong, cause I'd love for it to be 399.99 but mmmm we will see.

DON't expect anything below 399.99 though...lol, it's not gonna be cheaper than that.

OK, well, we will see! That would be fantastic if you were right.

!!! MATT KNOWS!!
