In some cases I think folks could be reminded that the people they criticise are actual people who might read this thread.
Every GB thread has people completely overreacting to even the slightest hint of criticism towards the crew. Like, even mentioning swapping Ben for Abby on E3 apparently makes you a creep. It's nuts.
I like Ben, for the record. I think he's improving a lot.

That is true when such opinions are assholish in a way that doesn't really help anyone. Which as I said I'm not seeing currently(it's important to know different people post at different times). Most of these opinions however are of 3 kinds. Jokes, truthful opinions & constructive criticisms.

It's possible to word praise and criticisms in ways that aren't shitty.
Just go with "I wish Brad had gotten a bit more involved today." or "I wish Abby had been on the panels for these."
These people read these threads sometimes. Put in a bit of effort to be constructive. This is probably the hardest week of their year, or up there with GOTY. Brad might have been tired. They might find it super valuable to have Abby working production on the biggest show of the year.

Agreed but sometimes people are people(aka shitty) and we should combat such assholishness with something meaningful that helps everyone. In other words, we should be the change we want instead of just being quiet. Maybe that's why sometimes you only see those kinds of people posting because most are quiet.

On the real, I don't even get why people comment on these people as if they're there to be judged. They're all people with different personalities who all contribute in their own ways, this ain't a tv show. I don't even know about you but I can't even compare them nor do I try to. Whenever I see people do that it's like "come on now dawg, these are legit people."

People seriously talking about tier lists and shitting on staff members during the 2 hour long wait for the PAX East panel last year was one of the worst GB-related experiences I've had.
I haven't seen too much of Ben because I've mainly watched/listened to Beast stuff lately, but the little of Murder Island I've seen (where he sorta messed with the others without saying anything) already sold me on him. Both he and Abby seem like great fits, which is really encouraging. It'd be cool to see Abby on a couple of the panels, especially to see her interact with the West folks more, but obviously the production/camera work is literally her job so it makes sense that she and Jason will probably be manning that for most of them.
Anyway, that little podcast was great; wonder if they'll be a little longer for later days? Though I guess the night shows might make that harder.
Then you must hate that half the threads created on this forum are people shitting on developers' work.

Do you not see the difference in criticizing the creation and not the creator? If you were posting about what someone said and not how they said it I would never comment on it unless it was factually untrue.
Giant Bomb threads always get waaaay more personal than other threads and seem to attract a lot of shitty drive-by posts. Especially in the E3 threads.
I'm going to take Death Metalist's advice and be the change that I wish to see more. Not going to be that active during the actual panels since I watch them 'clean' and then watch the GB version but I'll definitely be on here for the night shows.

Yeah, it's a group effort. I've always been of the opinion even before GB was a thing that the guys always build on each other ever since the GS days and that's what makes it all work but some people like to be like some people.
I could get behind this but Vanquish is actually top tier as well.

You're definitely allowed to feel this way but I think a lot of that was because this EA event was pretty bone dry. Few games and not really any surprise outside of A Way Out. There's only so much to say about the sport titles they don't care about and Battlefront which is a pretty known quantity.
