On the Microsoft conference pretty much just waiting for a Cuphead release date, so help me if there is another delay...
The way the show is being made longer and longer, I am getting the impression that along with the Scorpio blowout, they might just show everything they've got in the pipeline. Just make a massive case for their brand and what they want to do in the future.

Playstation conferences live on hype by fulfilling as many hardcore fan dreams as they can. They will stand by what was a dead project like The Last Guardian just to rally the fans to their side. Unless this E3 is a shift in messaging from Xbox I just don't believe they are going to do the same. Now that doesn't mean Xbox won't have a good show with the Scorpio, but I expect them to stay on their path and cater to their current demographic as always. I want nothing more though than to be wrong this time.

otr stuff, of course. but Rare is unlike any studio under MS umbrella. How they operate. How they're paid. They have enormous freedom.
(mind you my knowledge of this stuff is about 4 years old at this point so things may have changed... but I have my doubts on that)
It took Playdead six years to make Inside. It's been less than a year since Inside was released. It would be a bit foolish to expect anything from Playdead this year.

We know for a fact that that's not the case. In the latest Major Nelson podcast, Spencer said that the doesn't want to show anything that doesn't have a clear release schedule over the next couple of years.
He also said that it's running long because they want to build a narrative for the games. His biggest takeaway from last E3 was that he felt they didn't build a narrative to justify game presence and this time they will take the time to explain why the games being shown are important to the Xbox brand.

As I understand it, the Scorpio is gonna be a beefier Xbox One, which'll still play Xbox One games, and have no exclusives on its own? And then I wonder if any developers will push it to its limits if they also want their games to run on ordinary Xbox One consoles.

Ah, cool! That sounds good, then. Building the case for their games is the right move. I guess for me, as someone that loves Xbox but play more on Playstation 4 now, I want to see what's beyond their biggest hits. With games like Crackdown, State of Decay, and Sea of Thieves being their major known ones, it's refreshing since it's not the usual three, but I'm hoping for some more to see what's coming in the future, beyond Forza 7 and marketing deals.

Kind of fitting that Anthem is going to make its full debut tomorrow given how both Microsoft and Bioware are in a position where they have a lot to prove.
I expect it to receive some substantial time, maybe a Titanfall amount of time, and look awesome. Just a gut feeling that it's going to be a winner.

With the one s dropping to 200 today is it possible that they are trying to position scorpio as theyre main box? Kind of like when they started fading out the 360's after the xbone came out.
