So how bad is the Switch stock situation?

I didnt think it was going to be a problem to get one in June around my birthday but I was way off. Never seen one in the wild near DFW.
 
This is absolutely crazy. I had a feeling they would be hard to find the first two months. I wonder how bad the holiday season will be with Mario out in the wild.
 
Saw a couple more at a Wal Mart I go to sometimes. Also there were some at my nearest Wal Mart a week ago that I posted in here. Not sure if that's normal role if it's just in my area.
 
Ive got too many switches left at my best buy. They made us turn away customers all week to horde these units till today and only one guy was here for one this morning.

That's always the risk with doing that. Did Best Buy advertise they would be in stock today? If you're hording units it would make sense to tell people to come back on a certain day if you want to concentrate sales to boost sales of other items in a store.

Its apparently part of the agreement with Nintendo and Best Buy. Since the switch is featured in our weekly ad, thus stores are supposed to have them in stock.
 
I went to Best Buy yesterday looking for a screen protector, and the sales clerk said that they would have a Switch shipment in for today.
 
Anyone who went to get a switch at best buy today happen to see if they had any neon joycons for sale? Or is that a completely lost cause at this point?
 
Skipped Target and did Best Buy this morning. They randomly handed out a few papers out an hour before opening, but I still managed to get one when they opened with no paper needed.

I don't see them discounted in online shops like 365games.co.uk though, if anything they cost a premium there but they have them on stock. (Just checked, sold out, even with their high pricing lol)

Mate what you on about? I work for a major retailer in the UK, we have major stock issues with the Switch still, many customers ask us if they can reserve Switch's, we don't hold reserves, we had new stock of Switch's last week, that didn't even last a day.
 
Went to a Target this morning at 8 AM and they did not even participate in the big restock. They had a bunch of Switch accessories on the shelf (cases, joycons, pro-controller), but the actual display case where the Switch should have been was a total mess... They put some DSs, charging accessories, cases, and other junk behind the display glass and it was all haphazardly tossed in there.

The store is kinda far from the major cities so I was not really surprised they did not have any, just disappointed.

A lot of times they might hold stock in the back.

Yep, just bought a gray one at the SanTan mall in Gilbert. Only had two out (neon and gray) but when I checked out the cashier told me they have more in the back and are only placing two out at a time.
 
The supermarket where i work we have had 1 from launch i Think and it is still on the shelf with zelda next to it. Impossible to sell in my country. It is a PlayStation land 100%
