And you can tell approximately zero of that in what they showed. It looked like every other Assassin's Creed game, but with a skill tree.
Ubisoft's show is tomorrow

The demo showed it to have the most diverse areas and setting in any game, new navigation, new combat, and a loot system. Those are all pretty significant changes. It's more Assassins Creed, but with bird drones and pyramid sliding. At this point, Assassins Creed is just in that CoD rut of being the old reliable game franchise. Both games are still relatively the same and unchanged. They can go forward thru time and still not change up much of the core gameplay. And now they think going back in time (Egypt for AC and WWII for CoD) will rejuvenate interest. But it's just a new coat of paint.
You can tell plenty of that from what they showed and it was a short demo. And you can tell approximately zero of that in what they showed. It looked like every other Assassin's Creed game, but with a skill tree.

None of that sound like particularly exciting changes to me. But I've been burned out on AC since Black Flag.
I keep seeing on twitter, them playing a ton of old games, seems like they are doing periscopes or something, why aren't they just streaming and recording this? That's exactly what I want from Giant Bomb, and seems like a great idea to pass the time and create some stuff to throw up on the site. Is anyone archiving this stuff at all?
They're going to be on camera for hours and hours this week. It's probably nice to have a break, especially since these guys don't get to see each other as much anymore.I keep seeing on twitter, them playing a ton of old games, seems like they are doing periscopes or something, why aren't they just streaming and recording this? Okay? Why does that change the fact that it looked like every other game today? Should they have been excited about a franchise they're tired of because the trailer today showed the same old shit but there might be different stuff tomorrow?Ubisoft's show is tomorrow
You clearly don't like the franchise which is a-ok but it absolutely showed a lot of new stuff for that series which you seem unwilling to acknowledge even if it isn't meaningful for you.Okay? They sort of made their own grave by making the series annual but I don't think it just looks like a new AC a sequel with the same stuff. Just seems overly dismissive.

The combat looked like For Honor with the over the shoulder camera and dodge/shield parry system. I wonder if you're only going to fight 1-2 enemies at a time.
Fun to see them react to The Last Night after the Blade Runner discussion on the Beastcast.
And then un-fun as the game's director was revealed to be a scumbag.

Its shitty but it was also three years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if he still held shitty opinions, but also wouldn't be surprised if he made a sharp turn away from that.
And, you know, a month ago: https://twitter.com/ombrophilia/status/874054576323809280

This warms my heart.
Man they were rough on Assassin's Creed.

I still haven't gotten Rare Replay, so that is cool.
I don't want to keep responding to my passing observation but I expected more of a shrug than the reaction they actually gave. That's all.Does assassins creed deserve the benefit of the doubt after their last three/four games (excluding black flag). game looked fine, but that franchise has got to work its ass off to get out from that grave it buried itself in.
There's a row of bunk beds right behind the camera.Does the GB crew all still stay in a giant house for E3 or do they get a hotel now?

I think I'm more excited to see who gets milkshake ducked tomorrow than I am for any announcements.
