Yea aside from Uncharted and Tlou I think Sony is kinda missing some MP focused games.

And they have an absolutely unique game in SOCOM, with its own niche market. It can stand out against titles like Overwatch, COD, Battlefield.

I really think Rainbow 6's success is a testament to how badly SOCOM is needed and how it can be successful.

Uh, isn't the whole point of making games to make money, though? A fully fledged remake would have to be a costly endeavor, so surely Sony would only approve it believing they'd make a profit in the end? I suppose they believe they will with this one. I don't think they approved this as a passion project.

Platform holder and game publisher have different mindset for funding game.

Releasing a new SOCOM would just bring down PSN for a month.

I ask to be reassured and you give me a dose to reality!

truth hurts...lol

Put it this way, if they aren't at E3, it's pretty much a guarantee for next year of PSX at least. They are like the only studio who hasn't come out with anything since the start of the gen.

Yoshida teased sucker punch 2 years ago. I imagine there's at least a vertical slice to show by now.

That said, I'm mentally prepared to not see it today. I'm tired of assuming to know when Sony will show their games, and always being wrong.

Totally cool with Sucker Punch missing E3. With the amount of games already announced, Sucker Punch can take their time and announce + release the game in the same year.

So far this is what we know, will mark as spoilers for those who do not want surprises spoiled:
-Ni No Kuni II release date Nov10
-Shadow of the Colossus remake
-From Software's new game (Bloodborne 2? Apparently not :( )

Can someone confirm if I am missing anything?

yeah, I agree. Sony needs more evergreen titles. Just got Gran Turismo really. Would love to see Crash Cart return with some kind of Sony/Activision agreement deal.

Too many games are focused on story so heavily, it's hard to pinpoint anything that can keep going gen after gen. God of War seems to keep trucking though.

Threads like this used to be filled with PS3 GIFs of yoshida and that sort. We would also claim about year of the playstation.

I've been reading this forum for a long time. I think the reveal of killzone 2 gameplay is my favorite gaf E3 time memory.

I honestly can't even process how breathtaking SoTC remade in Decima would be and refuse to get my hopes up for anything beyond maybe a remaster of the remaster.

What's the best way to watch the conference tomorrow without risking a lot of spoilers beforehand? Searching 'Playstation press conference' on Youtube tomorrow will probably result in a lot of announcement videos.

I was contemplating on streaming the press conference but 3am is a bit late.

Yeah, I suppose. Still seems like an odd announcement, but hey, I'll take it. Shadow of the Collossus was a masterpiece. I just hope that this remake/remaster/sequel or whatever it is does the original justice. I'm also still crossing my fingers for PS1 Classics. Do it, Sony!

My dream is that Cole McGrath is back as the protagonist going after Delsin from the Evil ending.
