An odd beast, I'm not quite sure what to make of it. The weirdest thing for me is how they didn't focus on the co-op play - the very essence of MonHun - at all, the only real nod to that in the trailer being the use of the signal flare.

Would be very intrigued to see Japanese reactions to the announcement.

LOL. It's not so simple when there's 3 other players pounding on it.
well sure, but when do you have the coordination to let your team know when it needs capturing and do it but not have the coordination to do the same thing without that perk.

While I get this, I wish the fans weren't forgotten. I'd kill for a real MH game on PS4. Not this spinoff crap.

I just want real monhun wherever I can get it. Please don't leave the west with garbage capcom please. Don't slit the throat of a series that was actually getting its footing.

Don't get the complaints, looked good to me. But I always found the handheld games boring, so i guess i'm the target audience.

I'm very intrigued and excited but scared of change in MH. That said, if they maintain the handheld series with the traditional structure and gameplay, and experiment with World on console, that may be perfect.

fuck capcom so much if they do that :(

Lol we can buy the Japanese version of the game off the Eshop and its not like anyone bothers reading the cringeworthy text that constantly pops up throughout playing a MH game.

I'm a die hard MH fan and having played all the parts I have to say MH WAS getting stale. With each new iterations I found myself playing less and less. I couldn't believe MH was growing old on me.

Don't get me wrong I love MH but some stuff was realy getting old and tedious. Ugly ass gfx, item rarity, desire radar, useless quests, upgrades/items being locked behind DLC. It was getting old. People are claiming real fans like it as an arena fighter, well to me the actual quests in 1 arena sucked ass mostly. To me MH is the adventure you create with your team.

I'm being optimistic about this, MH needed a fresh start IMO and this might provide it. In any case I will be there day one.

Graphics look great, but need to wait to see how it plays.

I like Monster Hunter but I'm far from a die hard purist, so a spin-off that just focuses on streamlined aspect of the combat could still be fun. If could also be a game that misunderstands the game it is pulling from and just take superficial elements.

Taking the cooking, making it look exactly the same, but removing the music seems like the type of decision where they want to change things for the sake of changing things, because would that music be a step too far, or is it simply alienating fans by taking out the recognizable elements.

I think I'll take it on PC if will be worth. I had the impression they changed the gameplay a lot from the regular series, especially because they didn't show the hub world and the battle system, so I guess this will be a real spin-off.

Anyway I'm in to try something different, even if I'm a huge fan of the classic playstyle and I've tons of hours played, this looked exciting. Waiting for more details.

I'm in the reverse, I hate MHX because of the new additions to the gameplay, but its a spinoff so that's okay. This too is a spinoff of the traditional MH style. The real MH will be MH5, until then I'm happy to play whatever we get.

I'm glad it's getting a reboot. The constant repackages and recycled gameplay was boring. PS controls are back. Camo looks awesome. Gathering seems less annoying. Grappling hook looks to be fun.
