Giant Bomb @ E3 2017: <>

Highlights of E3 so far

Mario x Rabbids x Xcom
Dragon Ball Z at a major conference
Microsoft is selling a new Duke controller
SOTC Enhanced Edition

Yeah.... rough year.

Yeah there was maybe 2-3 announcements that hyped me up.

Had fun watching but definitely not as good as last year.

We still got Nintendo but...Idk we'll see.

But guys who won?

I liked how Ubisoft ended the conference by bringing a whole bunch of people on stage. Like hey, real people actually make video games and deserve some of the spotlight.

fun thing is we definitely know what is either going to open or close NEXT year's conference.

Last of Us 2

also arrogant sony has been back since the cross playform play thing

Definitely. It added a lot to it. Seeing humans. Seeing that dev on the Mario/Rabbids game crying. Stuff like that adds so much for me.

I mean the Sony conference wasn't blowaway but let's not pretend Microsoft wasn't pretty awful.

Forza looked cool, Sea Of Thieves looked OK for what it is and Crackdown looked fucking horrendous and most of the rest wasn't really theirs to show.

Wolfenstein still the best shit.

Yeah.... rough year.

More or less.

It probably speaks more for my tastes, my across Sony and Microsoft, the two most exciting things were...hey you can play original Xbox games on XB1 and a remake of a PS2 game.

Wolfenstein 2 and God of War look dope. Mario x Rabbids, DBZ, and Spider-Man look really cool.

Sony showed alot of games that looked great that most of which are exclusive to their system. And everyone is complaining?

All in all it was a boring year but if Nintendo says they're bringing the Radiant Fire Emblem games to the switch, i'll be happy.

The old games are the good games
I'd be shocked if we heard about any FE besides Warriors
They really were. Everyone made fun of them for not having a stage presence at E3 but they were smart as heck to not even bother with it and just do directs whenever they want.
And again when they switched to the Digital Event with the Treehouse after. Other people are starting to do the stream after conference to show off games thing, like Ubi with AssCreed and MS with Sea of Thieves this year

The GB guys are right, no conference was stellar and it all came down to individual games.

Was listening to the 1099 podcast earlier today from about a week ago and Jeff kinda predicted what he echoed at the end of tonight's stream, that this was a very "mid-gen" type series of conferences.

How many of those games were shown for the first time? Full exclusives? Were actually great?

It wasn't that amazing of a conference.

So you are one of those, huh...

Do you also make fun of people who watch ''kiddie'' Pixar films too?
Guess I'm one of those try hards that enjoy depth in my SRPGs, and I would absolutely make fun of someone watching a Rabbids animated movie unironically.

Yeah, because showing new games you can play anywhere else is going to convince me to buy a console you are trying to promote is the way to go by the logic of a few people
