Don't worry. I'm sure a Xenoverse 3 will be announced next year. They've always done multiple DB games, I mean this is a completely different developer.

I like posting rosters, I'll do 25 characters, the max possible, if SSB Goku and Vegeta are installs that would make it easier. Can also take out Hit and Black and make them Super DLC.

Using my ASW judgment I'll say we will get 16 characters with Beerus being the last boss. UNLESS They go further into Super

The only fitting last boss characters in the show atm are

Beerus
Merged Zamasu

Golden Frieza being a thing instantly takes away any threat of Kid Buu

Merged Zamasu is 100% ASW last boss tier though


The 16 characters thing is 5 teams of 3 plus final boss

I can get behind this list, though I'd throw in Whis & Zamasu over Mr. Satan & Goku Black (or over Bardock & Broly).
 
I think expecting 20+ characters might be a bit optimistic. Even if the characters aren't as complicated as in Xrd it is still a pretty labour intensive process. The arcade version of Xrd launched with 13 characters and the first console version had 17. I am expecting something like that.

It would be easier to work out if we had any idea how long the dev team have been working on the game.

I doubt GG had half the budget of DBZ.
 
I'd imagine even though it's 3v3, it's still perhaps reasonable to assume it'll have a similar number of characters to the base Xrd game?
 
I would have never thought my most anticipated game at E3 would be a DBZ game, this game is literally a child dream coming true.

You mean 15?

Xrd has 25 characters currently after about 3 years and 3 revisions.

I wouldn't expect more than 20 honestly. But if the roster is as varied as it looks like it will be you won't need any more than that. Just go play Xenoverse for Bardock and shit

17 and 18 don't kill anyone in the present timeline other than Dr. Gero. The go after Goku out of boredom and because it's 16's goal, but ultimately both are not bad people in the present.

I know, I totally feel you. If nothing else, variety is the spice of life and Dragonball fans should be stoked to have a variety of game adaptations. I mean just because they are making one classic 2d plane fighting game doesn't mean xenoverse 3, 4, 5, and 6 aren't coming out.

Xenoverse 3 is absolutely happening. It should be a lot better than the previous two ones, from what I know.

But I hate how the XV fanboys are shitting on this game even though a lot of love went into it.

They have no respect and to me that signals immaturity. And I know all about immaturity.

I wish we could all just get along, but the Dragon Ball fanbase is so confrontational.
I love both games because they fulfill different wants I have as a Dragon Ball fan.
 
I wouldn't put much stock in salty online Xenoverse fans. They'll move on as soon as XV3 is announced and the majority seems pretty hyped for DBF anyway. I like the arena fighters for being cool little dbz simulators and having lots and lots of characters to choose from, but by and large I've always thought the 2D entries had much more compelling gameplay so I'm extremely excited to see them coming back to it and taking it seriously.

It's really crazy. I don't think anything is going to be able to top this for me personally. Bar something Skies of Arcadia related lol.

I'm a pretty damn casual fighting game player, but this game really is like something out of a childhood dream. We've never gotten visuals this close to the anime before. Watching gameplay gives me fucking chills. Can't wait to play this.
 
This game will most likely will be my biggest announcement of this E3 unless Nintendo announces something but that will be hard.
 
Idk if DBFZ is the best thing shown this year but it's in my top 3 bar none. Definitely my most hyped. All these others need to step the fuck up because this game's coming for dudes' throats.
