MvC: Infinite Story Demo out now + several new reveals [Sony E3]

Did Capcom fire all of their good character modelers? Is their art director a dumpster fire or something. Are the character voices rough as shit to match the models?

The roster blows and there's just a general feeling of...coldness. Cheapness that everything about the venture is going to be nickel and dimed in relation to DLC

Marvel Vs Capcom 1 & 2 had a warmth about them, a feeling of love being ripped straight from the comics. 3 was the enviable progression into the modern era and it was ok, but I dearly wish there was visually a similar sense of tone that I get from GG Xrd and now DBF.

I do want to hear samples of the character themes, especially if they give new ones or do new rendition of past MVC themes for the characters.

For those of you trying to find the demo on NA PS4 PSN:

Search for "Marvel" scroll down to the preorder listing for MvC Infinite, go to the page, scroll down past the tile for the deluxe version, demo is at the very bottom

The only warmth of Marvel 2 was that of it being a dumpster fire because it was some MUGEN-tier output with stages and music that don't relate to either Marvel or Capcom, copy paste sprites all over, and a HUD that looked slapped together by someone just finding out about Photoshop filters.

All the stupid shit people are finding on twitter

This is marvel and I hope people are ready for all the dumb things that come with the game, both good and bad lol

Huh, I actually really like the demo / am surprised by how long it is.

They chose like the derpiest shot of Chun-Li for the trailer too...

The Vs series stopped being good after Marvel Vs Streetfighter.

Yeah I didn't like what I played. I also think the game is pretty ugly. I am glad Dragonball Fighter Z is a thing that exists.

I agree it feels sluggish, but after a while you get used to it.

Did anyone else post that doing double special inputs for Mega Man causes him to do an ex style double move? Ex: Performing QCB+k, QCB+k causes him to do a followup boomerang immediately. QCF+k, QCF+K causes him to shoot two ice shots. QCB+P, QCB+P causes him to shoot one upward slash, then a followup that splits in two.

I need to try this.

The marvel characters look better on the whole. Fortunately those fucked up faces will be tiny on the screen most of the time.

Then some shots look quite impressive like this:

I haven't played the demo yet, but this actually looks very good.

And about the faces, SFV got some faces changed between the Beta and final release, Injustice 2 and KoF 14 also. People are over-reacting and have a very short memory, apparently...

Game is releasing in 3 months though.

I love how the instant tags feel like more controlled assist as for instance i had rocket doing his special ,while I kept spamming Chris flame thrower then tag in rocket after his special finishes immediately. I think we're going to see some crazy shit with all the mechanics into play.

Injustice 2 faces were fixed during development. And keep in mind NRS has WB backing them up with a decent budget. Capcom only has 3 months and a low budget to work with. That's not enough time.

Ok i just finished the demo and i actually liked it, the combat felt bad with all assists on but once you turn everything off it actually feels good, i think they should give people that option the first time you start time game and not bury it within the options menu. Also i think they need less loading screens in the story mode (though the loading was kinda long but still i think it was better than SFV and Tekken 7), another thing the graphics are actually ok but the characters models needs some work especially Chun li and the other characters eyes are also weird. Other than that i actually don't see why all this hate here my overall experience was positive and the game seems to have a very good depth once you learn it.

Edit: i get some of the hate because this game didn't feel playing Marvel game at all, so i guess long time fans will find it weird, but i like the new slower paced approach for this game.

I will never understand why people treat MvC2 like it was some shining example of artistic sincerity.

It was the cheapest cash in, shunned upon release. It found a scene but it's an ugly, lazy game with no cohesive aesthetic.

MvC1 is still the best looking game in the aeries, easiky, and it is still using copy-paste sprites. At least it looks cohesive.

look i just want to know at what point we can start using 'capcom face' instead of 'nrs face'

NRS finally fixed faces. Now they need to fix animation.

Capcom face isn't a thing, they're just inconsistent.

Those changes didn't happen 3 months before release if memory serves me right.

KoF 14's graphics were also changed AFTER the game was released, so yeah.

Can't believe Richard Rider got in. He was the reason I bought UMVC3. Not a lot of positive reactions though which is a bummer. Gonna have to download it when I get home and give it a spin.

Downloaded it. Hot takes:

LP/LK/HP/HK control scheme is a step backward. First thing I did after gaining control of Cap was normal jump Air Shield Slash, only to realize that he no longer has a downward angle version because the layout restricts characters to 2 special move strengths instead of 3. They don't even have medium-strength normals via MvC2-style magic series here either, so it's just less moves overall. With only 2 teammates and no assists, I don't see any reason why they couldn't have just gone back to the full Street Fighter 6-button layout.

Is snap back still a thing?

Loading screens, lol.

Not sure if I like red health persisting after tag-in. But it also seems like health regen is pretty slow, so maybe that balances it out?

Arthur can dash!

The demo's not ideal for testing since the AI dies so quickly and you're locked to specific teams on each stage, so it's taking me a while to come to grips with everything. None of the characters I mained in MvC3 are playable here so I'm just flailing around with these.

Not sure how I feel about movement yet. It somehow seems simultaneously slippery and sluggish.

Need to mess around with the stones more.

MvC2 is a hideous mess, saved only by the possibilities afforded by its "everything and the kitchen sink" gameplay and roster size.

I might agree with you on MvC1 looking the best, but I still think MvC3 was solid through and through. Rarely if ever jaw-dropping, but slick and consistent on pretty much every front, and stylish enough to not date itself too badly years down the line either.
