Oh man that definetly worries me a bit. A dedicated button to special moves AND being able to to auto-combo out of Light and Mediums? Why not just make a stylish mode at this point?

I hope i'm wrong and it's just a dedicated Ki button that works like Blazblue's Drive or something. Still having 2 auto-combos is a bit too much.

That's what the special button is.

But yeah the 2 auto combos sound cancerous for someone that mashes.

I have enough trouble avoiding it with only light.

I really hope you can turn it off in the options like Marvel.

Just don't mash it's not hard. -.- When you type on a keyboard do your original messages lllooooooookkk kalikeeee lsjthisslass

Auto combos suck and are generally avoided in almost every scenario every button could do it and it wouldnt mean much.

I wouldn't mind if they did something new with the story mode, actually. Something more creative like Budokai 2's board game thing for example, telling their own story instead of adhering to the anime's events.

That could be great! Budokai 2 had a very interesting approach to the story. It was a really unexpected shakeup coming off of Budokai 1. I assume that ASW is going to play it safe for this release, but maybe in a future DB game, we'll see something that takes more of a gamble in that regard.

ASW has put autocombos in other games before. They're always extremely suboptimal and usueless for damage once you get even remotely decent. On the flipside of that, if it's anything like Persona they'll give them some kinda other utility to make them useful in some other way.

If you think they are hard to avoid doing unintentionally get better stick control jesus lol

Nintendo hasn't been yet, but so far this is my game of the show. A few games have made me say "dayumn", but this is the only one that's made me say "day one".

I see "X/Y button mash : ??per combo" so I can only be terrified of the missing two letters.

Could just be mashing X/Y during a super combo for more hits like in Marvel. Either way, the way ArcSys integrated auto-combos into P4 makes me not worried at all.

watching more gameplay video, it's amazing, but why the fuck the camera doesn't zoom out when not both characters are on screen? When the guy is in the air, you can't see the opponent at all at the bottom screen!

they've done it in previous arc system works games, hope this is just the demo that does that...

prove that goku's intro sucks (compared to the others) is that, when all the gifs were made (when the trailer/gameplay videos were released), no one even bothered to do a gif of goku's intro (i think). I've seen the others quoted so many times, as people love them, but goku's? not once.

I don't think any 2d Dragonball game has captured the spirit of the Anime like this has. This is how the anime would look if it had the pacing of the manga

Probably because there's no PC release in Japan.

I swear if the PC release doesn't have the JP dub and/or features weird Faulconer-like OST shenanigans, I'll cry. I'm not getting the game if that's the case. A similar thing happened with Diablo 3, where the original PC release had Korean but not Japanese, and the Japanese version stayed console-exclusive.

Speaking of soundtrack, it's a shame the Kikuchi OST once again didn't make it into a DB game apparently. Not that it's surprising at this point, but disappointing nonetheless. The game is visually so faithful to the anime -- I mean seriously, they nailed the colors and shading, unlike Burst Limit in its time -- that not having the original background music is a crying shame.

don't worry, previous PC dragon ball games all had japanese, same as a lot of games from namco bandai!

Concerning the music, i will be pretty happy if it's daisuke ishiwatari that does them (the trailer music is really close to his style)

I expect this game to have a small roster since the gameplay seems more complex that your typical budokai game and the endless tropes of clone characters. Each one here look really unique. 20 max I would say. Only one version of each with transformations in game.

Edit: Oh, just looks like some of the same footage from yesterday just now uploaded to Bamco's youtube channel.

Edit #2: and they just took it down, lol.

Edit #3: Was actually new footage, I take back Edit 1.

Seems clear to me it's meant as a compliment. They're basically saying the attention to detail is very good.

Obviously I understand it's a compliment, but a lot of people in a lot of places I've seen are saying this straight and plainly.

And then we got people saying it looks better, which, in some ways I could see where that comes from, but definitely not in every way. Usually the jagginess you can see on the character models in many of the close up shots easily make it inferior in that aspect.
