MvC: Infinite Story Demo out now + several new reveals [Sony E3]

So after playing the demo I'll say it again. Its like someone wrote a terrible fanfiction of mvc. The demo is absolute amateur hour as well. The character models are iffy. The voice overs aren't that good. The dialogue is cringey. its just bad. Theres absolutely no chemistry or charm between the interactions of characters either. Also was Captain America always that buff?

To be fair, an MvC story was always gonna be some fanfiction tier writing. It's Justice League Vs. Marvel. It exists to be purely fanservice material.

The entire thing felt like this is first MvC game and first crossover fighting game ever. It's just character appearing and other charcters saying their name, like "Rocket Racoon said "Dante", omg!!!"

It's just beyond silly...

Injustice has finally won.

And Tekken.

Fuck maybe even Arms.

Marvel stans still happy tho

I played through the demo and it was fun. Although it's hard to get a handle on the fighting when the enemies are really weak. The character models and voice acting is rough but the former could be altered before launch.

Haven't gotten around to playig the demo yet, but from the shown trailer the game looks really rough.
Also they should have gone with a gameplay trailer for the conference. The story trailer looked plain bad between the technically more advanced and better produced trailers at the show.

I wonder who's in charge of promoting the game, they haven't done a good job at all IMO.

I loved the demo. The story isn't any worse than what passes for Marvel comics lately, and better than the MCU movie Ultron was in. Yes, the character models look ass in cut-scenes, but everything looks and plays great for me in the actual fighting. It's a smooth 60FPS on XBO despite all the effects going on, which only breaks down after the match ends. I'll take this over Injustice 2.

Hopefully the gameplay saves it.

I think that Marvel is handling the art side and Capcom the gameplay side.
I cannot believe that Capcom botched the art direction this bad, it has to be Marvel's.

Game feels like you're playing online, but not even a 4 bar connection. I went online in UMVC3 right after and the online matches were more responsive than MVCi base game.

This game could be on some JoJo All-Star Battle bullshit and I would still expect to see these three hyping the game like it's the GOAT.

FGC people care more about gameplay and MvCI seems to be delivering on that front. It's just, I hope they're not surprised when the casuals aren't too thrilled with the roster and how the game looks.

RayRay was on the demo and noted that while some stuff seems interesting, the controls and inputs are kinda sluggish and feel kinda bad. That's a little bit concerning considering we only have 3 months before release.

Fun as all hell. Dante's move set is perfect. Art is a huge letdown though. Chun Lee looks like an ant head, Marvel faces look dopey and blank. For a Capcom game this is unacceptable. They are known for having the best art in the world. This game has the worst next to THQ Saints Row.

Just finished playing the demo. It left a really bad taste in my mouth. Controls feel off after playing MvC3 extensively, and good god the game looks ugly. Like the animations in the cutscenes sometimes hit Sonic Adventure 2 level cutscene animations.

I'm gonna have to sit this one out. Capcom's Marvel/VS series has always been one of my favorites in the genre, and this really bummed me out.

I'm just happy that best Nova is still in the game.

The gameplay trailer looked a helluva lot better than the Story trailer. Still, this is a very clear "wait it out" game for me. The roster just isn't there, there's already a ton of important and incredible characters held back for DLC, and it's apparent the game needs a tad more time in the oven.

That being said, I do look forward to Ultimate MvC: Infinite a year from now.

The negative hyperbole in this thread is INSANE.

I've just played the demo and it looks and feels great. The story mode is trash but who gives a shit about that?

The character models look great, Chun's face is a little off but Ms. Marvel looks fantastic.

I know this isn't exactly the game people wanted but now that y'all have DBZ there is room for this, too.

Calm down everyone, the game is shaping up fine.

My only honest comolaint is the lack of women on the roster but that's whatever.

Since when?

SF4 and SFxT are ugly as fuck. Tatsunoko vs Capcom and MvC3 have very simple character models. SF5 is a mixed bag.

Y'all got some rose-tinted glasses.

I remember the endless bitching about MvC3 before and even after it came out because it wasn't MvC2. History repeats itself.

It's a clear step-back from MvC3 though in almost all regards. It's hard to get hyped for a new game that's objectively inferior or scaled down in many ways over its predecessor.

And the fact we DO have Injustice, King of Fighters, Dragon Ball Fighterz, Tekken 7, and other games raising the bar - instead of sliding backwards - it makes a lot of those omissions and missteps less excusable or acceptable.

I'm still looking forward to the game, but you have to admit it's a strange reality where we're sitting here praising the faces of a Netherrealm game while criticizing how off Capcom handled the faces of their newest game.

Nooo way dude. Maybe the story gets better later on (I certainly hope so!), but what's present in the demo right now is fucking terrible. Don't know what comics and movies you've looked at, but I haven't seen writing this bad for a while. The iffy voice acting for some of the characters certainly doesn't help.

I will agree that the gameplay feels pretty good, a lot better than I was anticipating. Still not really used to it, but I'm pleasantly surprised. And the game definitely looks better in-match than it does in the cutscenes. As much as I'm disapointed in the story mode, that ain't what I'm showing up for when I want Mahvel, so whatev.

Lol. Literally the biggest audience who will buy this cares about that

So don't cater to casuals but *do* cater to casuals.

The game has a story mode. It has input assists. It has MCU characters.

That market is covered.

The rest of us, who will probably only play story mode once, if at all, can at least be glad that the stuff that matters is good.

I enjoyed the demo, but what happened to Chun Li's face and I noticed that some of the animations are not as smooth as I would of expected. Guess they got time to iron that out, right?

Not to go full-on defense force but they do have time and lots of polish is added in the last few months. We see that a lot with fighting games.

This looked Ipad tier.

DELAY
DELAY
DELAY
DELAY

and put doom in the fucking roster

I love how people bitch about how the roster, complain about how it has so many returning staples, then ask for Doom back.

Capcom will never be able to please people when the demands are so all over the place.

I'm honestly really bummed that the LMHS control scheme was dropped for LP/HP/LK/HK. It makes a lot of the move sets feel awkwardly restructured and just... sloppy. Why does the Shin Shoryuken use two kick buttons?
