Giant Bomb @ E3 2017: <>

So I was actually having to do other stuff during the VR segment, but I just wanted to say my quick piece.

VR basically brought me back to games. I'm at a point in my life where I'm busier than I've ever been, and I've played fewer and fewer games year over year. Since I got VR last year, I've had some of the most compelling experiences and memorable moments in those games than I've had since I first played Ocarina of Time. Tech has a ways to go and software has a LONG ways to go, but the good stuff in there is so fucking good.

Next year we'll have wireless, eye-tracked, foveated-rendered, lighter, super high-res headsets, and I think that will do a lot for it (except perhaps bring the price down, which of course is a big thing).

That's all!

someone push the end segment button

its just a deck of 52 system with roguelike elements that dont add anything to the game except for having 90% of your abilities disabled. Having a rival show up every once in a while is the cool part, then theres the rest of the system

It also ended up not doing much for me by the end of the game because I was permanently killing the leaders like 95% of the time for reasons that were sorta unclear to me. As a result the "nemesis" I fought near the end of the game was someone whose name I didn't even recognize. The system's cool conceptually but they needed to make those fights harder and to have them survive a lot more often. More ways to manipulate it that aren't just intentionally dying would probably help too.

While I just can't find it in me to really be excited about VR at the moment, I do like reading things like this from people who are. Knowing that it has an actual chance and that it can get there after a good amount of time is kind of neat.

but in this kind of game you need something to disable your abilities, otherwise you do the one thing that works over and over and over

Totally. As-is there are few people I would recommend get a VR headset right now. For me it has been an awesome experience to be on the sort of bleeding edge of this. I've had the opportunity to talk to multiple devs and have had real impact on their games. It's a really cool niche community where everyone is just excited to create and collaborate and experience new things.

That sounds cool. I really like that the people involved and playing are genuinely excited and happy trying to actually make something real and worth it. Like you said, it must feel pretty cool to be a part of it as it grows.

Does anyone know if they've mentioned anything about MHXX not being localized? It's been brought up a bunch of times and nobody's saying anything but world

I will forgive The New Order being #11 in 2014 if The New Colossus is top five this year.

I probably won't forgive that actually that was some bullshit
