Dragon Ball FighterZ - Characters, Specials, and Stages Discussion

So how much of a shoe-in is Monaka? They got to have a spot in the roster for the strongest fighter in Universe 7!

latest

Right?

The animation in GT is actually something most people agree is good. At least it was consistent and in some ways an upgrade on DBZ. Super's is a hot mess at times.

GT's art is generally on model, but the actual animation was very limited. Throughout the entire series there were only a couple of times with actual dynamic movement, with one of them being a very pointless battle in the beginning of the Black Star Dragonball arc against an one shot mercenary. By the time of the final arc, you've even got something like the Dragon Fist being animated as a slideshow.

Beerus has to be in this game or someone's gonna get hakai'd.

I don't think they'd include the space arena, give Goku his BoGs gi, and skip Beerus.

Broly is a character that I've never been exposed to, so after reading all the posts discussing his popularity, I got a bit curious and looked up his bio and origin story...

Broly's most defining trait is his intense hatred for Goku. While both were newborns, Goku's relentless crying greatly irritated the nearby Broly, sparking the hatred which would grow sub-consciously in his early life and awaken upon seeing Goku again.

Garbage character.

Garbage origin.

Garbage character.

I don't think many people past age 12 actually think he's a good character. People just like his design.

Garbage character.

As long as he yells "KAKAROOOTTTT" every time he does an attack, im okay with putting him in.

I probably don't have much weight in this conversation considering Yamcha is my favorite DBZ character, but out of all the characters in fucking Dragon Ball Broly is the only one where I am truly baffled by his popularity.

Garbage character.

Watch the Abridged version of his first movie. Vegeta is right. https://youtu.be/FJBgzX2HMe8

He's so dumb...but he's so cool!...BUT HES SO DUMB!

I personally want Broly because I think his moveset would translate really well into this type of game. He's a garbage character but an awesome design when it comes to Saiyans.

but his inner conflict is so deep, meaningful and relatable

you just don't understand it

Rewatching Dragon Ball Z and it seems weird how they skipped how Goku learned Kaio Ken and the Spirit Bomb in episode 21. I also don't remember how did Goku and the others learn how to fly? I can't remember if it was ever brought up. I did skip the Raditz parts this time.

Broly is terrible and I hope he doesn't get in...but he probably will because he'll fill that Hulk style archetype pretty well and if he has a cool set, I won't complain too much.

I think flying just kinda... happens? I can't remember when it became a thing. I don't think they even explain how it works until Gohan teaches VIdel how to do it in the Buu saga lol.

They probably just learned it from either Tien or Krllin. But since Krilln figured it out on his own the rest probably did so too at some point.

Currently editing this Level 1 Supers / Anime comparison video.

editing for this is a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitch

but it should be out tomorrow!

Goku somehow just learns how to fly during his battle with Piccolo. He still used the Kintoun in the beginning of DBZ because he wasted too much energy with it though.

Yall let's get some things straight.

Broly will be in the base game. You ain't escaping this.
Beerus will be in the base game. You ain't escaping this .
Calligula, Calabasas and Kait won't be in the base game. You ain't escaping this.

As far as I remember he didn't.

It's the climax of the battle. He couldn't move his body at all anymore, but suddenly rushes towards Piccolo and knocks him out with a headbutt thanks to using flight for the first time.

Edit: I'm talking about the 23rd Budokai here.

It was Tien's thing in the tien tournament arc.

It's sort of been presented as a technique that you inevitably learn while manipulating ki, like regular ki blasts that aren't the Kamehameha.

King Piccolo could fly, the Crane Master knew it because he and Roshi were around when there when their master sealed him away, and his school was the first to learn and present it as The Air Dance.

As far as I remember he didn't.

I'm fairly certain they presented his match winning head-butt as Goku learning to fly on the spot.

He couldn't fly earlier in the match, though Krillin was able to earlier in that tournament. It was a rare instance of Goku being behind everyone else on something.

So, uh....is this still the place where we speculate about which characters we would like to see in the game? If so this would be the roster I would want to see.

Honestly I am not thrilled at the prospect of multiple versions of the same character for transformations. Would anyone have been upset if instead of SSJ Goku and Vegeta we only got their blue forms? Also tween Gohan should have been left out in favor of literally anyone else. Adult Gohan is better in every way.

I'd say if we somehow get 25, this is who I expect. Not a "wishlist" but my predictions for the roster. I changed yours up a bit.

Goku Black, Zamaru or Merged Zamasu might get in so one of them can replace Baby. We only need 1 character for GT representation.

Just knock out 17 for Black/Zamasu(Would prefer Zamasu), and I'd be pretty happy with this roster list.

Eh, more like Black would replace Baby. Outside of Omega Shenron, SS4 stuff and maybe Pan, nothing else from GT seems likely to ever have a shot of getting in.

Why are you looking up his story

That's not why people like broly, they like broly because he looks cool and and attempts violent murder and looks cool while doing it.

He's Eddy Brock Venom.

While I don't think eddy is my favorite, the reason people like eddy brock venom is that he's big , looks cool and does murder super good. These 3 things will take you far

but his inner conflict is so deep, meaningful and relatable

Yes

" murder. I will murder you with my fist hands"

That's not hard to get. People can get behind that.

Broly is basically Brock Lesnar in DBZ form.

If you get Lesnar you'll get Broly.

No, Broly is Vince Mcmahon.

He's dragonball Z in a character. Just as Vince is wrestling man, a scumbag who might take riods, who is more talk than action. Broly is a man who screams and makes his power maxium and then its murder time.

Goku is steve austin.

This is not accurate friend. Not at all.

Why not just give us SSJ4 Goku to begin with

I dunno, maybe they don't want to do more than one adult goku on the roster?

If SSB Goku does end up being a separate character, I'm certain we'll get SSJ4 Goku as DLC sometime down the road.

GT Kid Goku kinda kills two birds with one stone: he can get the full DB Kid Goku moveset/animations for supers, and then have a transformation super like Freeza where he becomes SSJ4 for a little bit.

GT Kid Goku with a SSJ4 transformation isn't a bad idea but something like that I can only see as DLC or in a sequel. It's a good idea though.

I would rather ss4. Because ss4 looks cooler. That's it. SS4 goku is visually different enough and could have a different enough moveset along with vegeta to justify having them on the roster.

That's a huge as discredit to DBZ

Nah,

He's a dude screaming for reasons i'll defined, for something that could have be solved with therapy or stern talking to that has grown out of hand and now has resulted in a kumate, where he yells his hair changes color and he grows stronger and gets bigger.

Broly is DBZ man.

Broly is Shonen man.
