Cheap Arse Gaffer |Europe| With Or Without EU

Amazon's homepage is saying that next Thursday is Prime Day. As someone who has only recently got Prime, can someone tell me what the deals are like? Is it something worth keeping an eye on?

Is CD Keys still the best place to buy PS+/PSN credit? I'm debating picking up Elite Dangerous, wanted to try and trim the price down a little.

Prime Days have been traditionally been rather awful for the most part. There may be something you're interested in, but there's most likely to be utter rubbish they can't get rid of masquerading as a great deal.

Dont know where you re located, but maybe check out some retail outlets? Got my legandary edition for 40 euros instead of the 50 euros digitally.

Edit: Netherlands

Don't expect a good deal, and don't go in with specific hopes and dreams, but you might stumble on something good.

There is one exception, however, that people can often miss: The last few Black Fridays and Prime Days have also had a blanket reduction on anything from the Warehouse section, and poking through there can crop up some gems. It's pot luck what's up for grabs, though. I've often picked up a few USB drives a few times at what were reasonableish discounts as a result.

Ah, good call. It's £40 for the digital version but ~£35 at Amazon. Plus my local CEX somehow has a copy for £30 but that would be used - are there any codes included with the retail version or is all the content on the disc?

You could ask them if they were used I guess? Dont know about codes but would assume so. Getting mine later today

The Legendary Edition includes a code for the season pass. There isn't anything to download yet however other than an update.

German GAF:

Starting next wednesday evening mediamarkt.de is selling the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers for 449€.
Found the deal on Mydealz, seems legit. No link at the moment.

Anecdotal experience with Argos. Used their same day delivery service recently. Wrong item delivered. Courier would not admit they had made a mistake. Took several hours to be resolved as my item had been delivered and accepted 30 miles away.

Seems that Argos' self employed couriers pick and pack the items from the warehouse for these deliveries. Almost as if Argos is laying off their entire work force and replacing them with poorly trained casual delivery drivers.

I've been waiting a while to get both Nier Automata and Tales of Berseria, how low do you guys think they'll get? SE games usually go down fast but Nier insists on staying pricey.

Not sure about Automata. Thought it was at its lowest a few weeks back on ShopTo but I can't even be sure I didn't just imagine that. Berseria should go low. I got Zestiria in Oct / Nov after its release in for £19 and saw it go lower after that, and this is for a title that locally I could only get for €80 when no games these days are that much here.

I'm in the same situation, waiting for a price drop. I'm happy to wait it out as I've only beat 2 of the 4 games in that time period (Nioh, Yakuza 0) and still want to beat Zelda and Horizon.

I think SE are going to keep milking it for a while so at best we'll see 50% off at the next Steam sale in six months.

So does this only affect certain types of imports / exports or is this right across the board and would include games?

It *could* affect the price of gaming hardware such as consoles, provided they are manufactured in Japan/considered as "made in Japan", in local stores of here. Most of that stuff is made in China though.

I don't think this deal will affect the VAT you have to pay when importing from Japan though. It may affect the import tax (3.5% on console video games in my country) that is due on all your packages worth over €150.

To anyone in Paris today, the FNAC in the Champs Élysée is selling Arms at 10% off.

It's a price mistake they're likely fixing by tomorrow so if you interested in buying Arms you could have it cheaper there.

EireGAF who do you go for these days out of the UK market to get titles on release day? I went with TGC for the Crash Trilogy but even though it was shipped Wednesday I'm still waiting on it. The last time I ordered from them they shipped late on a Friday / early Saturday and I got it Monday. ShopTo generally seem to get stuff to me pretty quick but I've had a few good occasions where I've gotten them late. Amazon are completely unreliable.

Yeah, I'm not seeing it going down too soon, so I ended up getting it for 33.95£ at the TheGameCollection's ebay, which with shipping and bank conversion taxes ended up being ~42€. I'll wait on Berseria, Horizon and GR2 which are the only games on my list that I still don't have, but those will get pretty cheap down the line.

Loved TGC until they stopped shipping to Germany. Now I'm very pleased with Base. Most of the time they are the cheapest and they are also pretty quick - well atleast to Germany. But I can't imagine it will be different with Ireland.

Personally I avoid Shopto. Three games went missing within two years and their support is awful, almost like GAME. Which are the worst, but that's not a new thing.

Coolshop and Base are my go-tos now ever since TGC got all weird. Bummer that Base is now often cheaper than coolshop because coolshop is faster and has PayPal support.

Not sure if it's worth mentioning, but was looking around at the Switch stock situation and pretty much everyone was coming up null!

Then I thought I'd look at ShopTo as I managed to get a PS VR when they were only selling bundles and everywhere was sold out...

So went to the Switch page, says sold out. So went to the bundle page, added the cheapest bundle they had (with a Yellow JoyCon grip for a couple of £) and got through to basket. Then went to the Zelda page, says sold out (or Back order as they put it), so created bundle again and they give you the option to add BOTW before you go to basket... It's worked.

Not 100% sure I'l get it (despite the Order confirmation email coming through). Supposedly free next day delivery is included.

ShopTo must be the worse designed site out there, add to that the conflicting pages saying it's sold out, but the bundle creator actually letting you buy it. I suppose if they come through with it though I'll be chuffed!

So pissed I've missed the Metroid LE... didn't even know it had been announced for EU already, dunno how I missed that and now even Gamestop.it is OOS... ffs :(

Keep hovering over the SNES Mini preorder button but besides the novelty, and the fact the Super Famicom is my fav console of all time, what would it be good for?
I know I'd have more chances to (re)play its games when VC on Switch will become a thing (little free time, portability and all that jazz), plus I don't really need yet another thing plugged on my tv...
...it sure looks awesome tho. Please talk me out of it? lol

If it's "hackable" as the Mini NES you could probably dump both NES & SNES libraries pretty easily.

Thanks guys, I had no idea TGC weren't great for the last while. Think I already have an account on Base at least. The most worrying thing about this now though is that I'm still unsure if Crash will even turn up today. :(

Managed to get one for 300 a few months ago. Thanks to Metro having a deal and not being fast enough with hiding their Pro stock. :D

Well, you could have get it for about ~220 Euros at Gamestop with their trade in offer so there have been already a few opportunities to get your hand on a cheap Pro :-D

They only not great thing about them is that they no longer ship to Germany.
