Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite Characters and Stages Roster |DT2| oh dear...

I dunno man. About the only similar thing is that the characters are shown on the side.
Since even the more simple Xmen vs SF had more expressive portraits.
Regardless, I think the whole "dead face" expression on the character select screen is what's hurting that select screen the most.

Yeah there's so much personality in the older select screens. I wish they would make it more like those.

Lady's rocket launcher.

The obvious obstacle is why make a new character when you can just copy paste Trish?!
I feel like they might be done with the MvC3 copy pastes, but I could be wrong.. Or popular ones might come later in a cheaper dlc. I think it'd be hard for Capcom to push UMvC3 repurposed assets for full price compared to new characters... But you never know...

Which moves where that?
The Grapple move where Dante uses the grappling hook of Kalina Ann to pull people in and Hysterics where Dante launches a volley small rockets in the air. Both of these moves are done from the weapon that Lady is most famous for (she gives Dante the weapon after we beat her as a boss).

If I don't get a bomb ass character select song like this cover of the Marvel v Capcom one then I quit

If they want to lean into the 90s era of the VS series this shit better be in. Gimme that remix for character select in the launch version.

Like how could anyone not be hype picking a motherfucking Spider-Man with Kamehameha Ryu and listening to that shit to bust a fucked up Magneto's/Onslaught's ass?

And yes, Take You For A Ride is kind of ass. It's the worst song in a game with great music though, because Airship and Clock Tower are classics.

If they're gonna lean into the MCU anyway, throw in some Avengers horns because reasons pls. bumbum BABUMMMMM

They still have the X-Men to copy paste. Though repurposed assets wont matter much for those who would still be playing the game when the DLC comes out, and that's the audience the DLC is aimed at.

I can't blame you for that but I still don't understand why Capcom would use four months old demo for that.
Having a newer build of the game wouldn't change the general opinions about the demo much, story mode is just not how you demo a fighting game, especially one that would have you using two different characters each fight with new system mechanics. FGs shine when you're in control, I played a lot of MvC3 and still felt lost through the first few runs of that demo, I can only imagine that experience is much worse for someone who doesn't spend most of his gaming time playing fighting games, that and the cringy dialogue wont help with the none fighting part.

There's no way they are done with copy pasta... are you serious? LMAO!

Vergil, Wesker, Phoenix Wright, Joe, Ammy and all the X Men + Doom/Deadpool/Skrull from Marvel 3 are ripe for the pasta.

You know what? I say bring on the pasta, the more old models brought back the better, then less people will be bummed their favs didn't make it

Porting assets is about as classic VS series as it gets. I'm actually kind of surprised that they didn't give Morrigan her sprite as a costume in TvC or 3.

I know a lot of them will come back over time with the DLC, just kinda hope it's all of them. Would suck to lose anyone, especially the first 3 you mentioned.

People are going to forget about the copy/pasta once the roster is over 60 anyway.

And I never minded that they were copy/pasting assets, hell I wanted them to port over as many assets from Marvel 3 as possible. I just wish they did a better job of it and they did more of it because it feels like a half measure even when it comes to copying.

I personally really like what they've done with Dante, he has a lot of moves copy and pasted but he's also changed in interesting ways such as all the possibilities with his gunplay this time around.. Just wish they didn't make all his moves that are copy and pasted different inputs, gonna take some time to unlearn the MvC3 format.

Pretty much sums it up. Reusing assets is fun. Hell Tekken 7 and Injustice 2 did so in varying degrees. But like you said in this case it's just feels so odd. Since the models (mainly capcom side) seem off and the characters that are coming back over others are making people scratch their heads.

I am more talking about how the returning moves lack the same impact and visual flair. There are exceptions of course, Arthur and Strange's effect look upgraded for the most part but some of Dante's moves seem like they are straight up missing visual effects.

Ahh I can see that. Moves like, Volcano, Crystal and Acid Rain should definitely look cooler than they look now.

hopefully the character select screen will be spruced up a bit at least (as well as some of the move animations)

I'd like for it to be a placeholder, but I'm not sure.

Same here on bringing so many veterans as they could from UMVC3 to MVCI since they already have many excellent characters over there.

Hopefully since they are reusing so many assets, they are aggressive with DLC. 2 characters a month from October to about April would be cool.

The main downside with loot boxes is that you can't just buy the costumes individually. You can buy loot boxes, yes, but you have to pray to the RNG Gods that you get the costume that you want.
No that is not how it works in Overwatch.

People may not like lootbox systems but they work and keep the playerbase invested

They won't do anything at evo.

Why, because of SDCC?

EVO- July 14-16
SDCC- July 20-23

Well besides the two being a week apart from each other, you'd think that Capcom probably would try and take advantage of this somehow. Something like "Character reveals for Capcom's side" during EVO while having "Character reveals for Marvel's side" during the Comic Con.

Of course, it would be difficult to try and say if they would pick one over the other considering, but if I had to take a guess as to how this will work, it probably would be that they would either split the reveal down the middle to reveal some this weekend and some next weekend, or otherwise have their big reveals for Infinite at EVO and then at SDCC (if Capcom is there) have the game playable on the floor for people to enjoy and hopefully start generating some positive buzz that the game desperately needs.

Why, because of SDCC?

obv. Dunno why people expect stuff from evo when that's rare there.

We're close to a character dump tho, hopefully this one has Spidey, Venom and Jedah!

SDCC is a big deal for this thing always has been, EVO never. That's not gonna change.

There will for sure be something at EVO.

Mostly because it's the same weekend as D23. So we are getting something at either/or those 2 events which means we will for sure be getting something this weekend.

I would have to disagree with you a bit there. There have been plenty of times that FG Developers had used EVO as a step ladder to reveal characters. Examples I can think off would be Necali for SFV, Dizzy for Xrd, Eyedol for KI, Raiden for MKX, and Bob and Master Raven for Tekken 7.

Now... in terms of Marvel vs Capcom, you got me on that one since I can't say for sure if anything was revealed for MvC 3 (or UMvC3) at around EVO time, but honestly: I would not be shocked at all if after the UMvC3 Grand Finals, you have the announcement of "A Brand New Trailer!" to showcase some characters that will hopefully hype the crowd up (To which I honestly can't say what could be shown that would accomplish that unless if we do somehow see an X-Men character, Doom, Deadpool, or someone who is not on the leaked documentation.) Not to mention that if they do show off a new character, what will the chances be that they will be One of the Six DLC characters? That can easily piss people off depending on who that would be.

Oh right, D23. But would they do the reveal there or at EVO (& reiterate the info later at the other event)?

Why mention D23 in this case? Mind you it isn't like I don't get it, but honestly I think people would be watching D23 more for information on Kingdom Hearts 3 rather than Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite.

Not to mention that considering that D23 and EVO kind of overlap each other and how D23 doesn't look to have anything "gaming related" posted on their schedules, I wouldn't be looking towards Disney for any Marvel Game related news.

I think because it's playable there. Who knows, we may get a surprise reveal there too but I would rather it be shown off at EVO.

D23 has a showcase for just games and MVC:I is there.
