I think the best likely outcome with FF4 is that they bomb again with Fox and revert back to Marvel who folds them into the MCU just in time for all the original guys to retire, so you can phase out the Avengers and replace them with an up and coming Fantastic Four.

The bigger question is if Fox can keep making money on X-Men movies, since Inhumans looks like a garbage fire Marvel will be looking to bring the mutants back at some point to keep the MCU going.

It's almost too late now. Marvel is deep into Phase 4 planning already with two confirmed movies and several others they haven't announced yet. Plus, Fox is saying they want to go with that kid-friendly F4 movie which wouldn't release until at least 2019. Unless Marvel and Fox are talking right now (unlikely), I don't think we'll see F4 in Marvel's hands until at least Phase 5 in 2024 or whatever.

As for X-Men, it's not going anywhere. Deadpool alone locks that in for Fox for at least another decade. Deadpool is guaranteed to make money just based off buzz from the first film. If it's bad, that impacts Deadpool 3, but it would still happen. Add in X-Force and that means Fox is good on X-Men until at least 2022 or so.

At best Fox sees that Homecoming money and thinks they can broker a similar deal with Marvel, but given how Fox has treated their Marvel properties, it's unlikely they'll be cordial enough to make a good deal.

Yup, right with you on that Bulma. Androids being together is great, but I could see them being split up for fighter introductions to focus on, say, the Piccolo / 17 mini Rivalry, and the Krillin / 18 Combat Couple angles.

I approve of Combat Couple.

Now I want a level 5 Bulma super where Beerus smacks her and initiates prompts Vegeta's wrath. I don't care if it doesn't make sense from a fighting game standpoint, just make it happen.

That team battle is free for the Southwest, especially if they put RyanLV on anchor. Also, US beats Japan easy.
 
This Ryu Super really does make me wonder a few things. Mind you that in terms of Level 3 specials, this one definitely has caught my eye because we don't know (or at least not at the moment from what I can tell) if this is something because Ryu is low on health or something that is almost like tempting Ryu to lose himself in the Hado. Not to mention that considering Ryu's Alt. Skin, could that mean that this level 3 super will play differently if it lands?

Funny how when we get some gameplay, that turns the interest on better than just talking about the game. Hopefully when we see it this weekend, we will see better things than what we saw last month.
 
Also I noticed that Ryu could charge his hadoken and turn it into full screen hadoken like kamehameka, unlike UMVC3 version where he could charge into red burst hadoken.

dang game is starting to look interesting too me. I've actually not played a fighting game with 'tag' feature since er--- yeah Marvel vs Capcom in the Arcades that was my bang

But I dunno. Got my hands full with plenty of games atm

Dante doesn't move in his idle position, everyone else moves, Ryu, Ms. Marvel, Ultron etc. but with Dante nothing, it's like he isn't alive... looks really weird.

I caught this already at E3 and was hoping they would fix it but nope new build and still no chest movement or so.

I'm not sure this build is any different than the E3 one.

Dante is exactly like that in his MvC3 idle pose, aka he barely moves (Vergil is the same).

at least let his chest move a bit so that it looks like he's breathing. . . but there is nothing, looks really weird and unfinished.

Can't believe it was like that in Mahvel 3.
 
The character select screen is really awful. The UI in the menus too looks like an altered version of UMvC3's UI too so it all feels too familiar. There's a lot to be desired with the things surrounding the gameplay itself I hope Capcom fixes before release. Gonna buy and play the game because it's still my favorite fighting game series and the gameplay looks fun overall but I really hope it's some kind of polished when it releases.
 
Yeah, sometimes it's best not to have a character move too much in their idle stance. Otherwise you'd end up with some of NRS's idle animations.

Yeah, chest movement I'd agree on, but not to the point where it's exaggerated (Ryu's breathing in SFV for example makes sense for his character). But it's kinda like acting in a play or a musical, only move with purpose. If you don't have a purpose, don't go for it.
 
Agreed, btw the gameplay looks fun.. my only gripe is the cheap UI.
Well game is just inconsistent. Some animations and models look great, but some effects look like shit and lack flare. Some faces are fucked, and yah UI is trash in some aspects. UI looks very sterile and mobile game like (but I do like the start screen).

Obviously metallic characters look great, new particle effects and reflections look great, Captain Marvel looks great. Hell I think Dante looks great in some areas (minus the face), but then his effects look lackluster and don't pop.... A lot of Things just don't pop like MvC3.. (oh and Ryu looks good too)

Thanos's animations definately look a bit off.
 
Come to think of it, I don't think Trish moved during her idle stance, either.

Her sword certainly did, but she just stood there like Dante and Vergil. This seems hella intentional. Maybe a DMC demon thing.
 
Why didn't they wait and show off the cool new shin shoryuken instead of giving us that awful looking story demo?!

They were so busy trying to say "look we didn't leave out single player stuff so you guys will have something to do" that they forgot about literally everything else.

We could have just had an arcade mode with some great cutscenes at the beginning and end and we would have been ok with that.

That would have more than satisfied the fighting game fans who play FGS to get good at them and enjoy them for what they are, the casuals would go "but injustice 2 has..." And really, no other publishers that makes fighting games with the exceptions of Nintendo and Microsoft are in the position to cram so much stuff into their games.

I would have loved if the story demo offered at least local VS / Training with a smaller selection of the cast.

I understand completely why they wouldn't want us to have a VS demo with so many options. And I do think it's pretty decent they let us try out so many characters. But some form of repeat-play form, that wasn't stuck with the loading times of the story mode, would have really helped people do at least some kind of labbing.

Still find it pretty cool to see Deask push the system already, even with such limits in place. If only everyone could have such fun with such a weird presentation.
 
What modes do you think they'd put in the game besides Arcade, Training, Missions and Story

About the demo
EDIT: Should at least patch-in "level"/chapter select or some sort of button combination that resets the fight. Maybe even a difficulty setting that makes the drones harder/have more health
 
We know there's a Gallery, though I'm assuming you're just talking about gameplay.

I'd really like for them to have a local (and online) player controlled 2v2. That would be so hype and fun for a game like this.
 
Considering going from the trailer Zero is brainwashed or whatever, you'll probably have to fight him and someone else as X. If they don't use the X5 X vs Zero theme I'll be disappointed

There sadly hasn't been a good or memorable song in Capcom fighters in a long time. They really gotta step it up.
 
I wonder if Knowmoon and Valkanda will have unique grunts or will just borrow from Ultron Sigma's drones/xgardians

Knowmoon would make sense having maybe Meio's followers and maybe Kree soldiers? Ravagers? Corrupted Nova Corps maybe?

Valkanda: Not sure besides maybe some white Gorillas and maybe low threat Monster Hunter monsters?

Dark Makai (aka the likely Dark Dimension/Darkstalkers fusion): Red Arremers sound likely...maybe some mindless ones as well that weren't in the .zip?

(the "street level" crossover probably between RE/Spider-man. Just seems plausible to me): symbiote grunts and nemesis seem very very likely

Since Zero is looking like a mind controlled fight, I'm thinking Bucky and Venom, seem likely too. Perhaps they'll have one per world?

Yeah you got it. IJ2 has those elements plus very good tutorials. Granted, SFV has good tutorials now too from what I recall.

IJ2 also has guilds where up to 50 players can play together. Interest in IJ2 might have tapered off a little but at launch we had 7 GAF guilds. Plus you can coop with guildmates to takedown a boss. Now I think we are probably down to like 2-3 active gaf guilds

I frankly don't expect any fighter to touch IJ2 in the casual dept but that's okay. I'm more interested in solid core mechanics. But I also would like a story mode. Even what GG Xrd REV does seems coo (where Arcade mode you get lots of cutscenes for character development + a fully cinematic story). Granted, IJ2 was the best (for me)
