Evolution 2017 The Fighting Game Tournament of the Year (Read OP, No Game Whining)

I went asleep before SFV top 8, it was too late here in my country. I watched all top 8 on youtube, damnnnnn tokido, I'm very happy for his win and I main Akuma too in SFV.

SFV top 8 was the hypest and most fun to watch. I hope Capcom release SSFV next year before Evo 2018 to silence the haters.
 
Wow, out of the two evos i've attended, this without a doubt was the best (last one was 2015). I got to meet so many players, not go 0-2 in two games, and the mandalay bay venue was fantastic.

Only shitty part is my friend lost his wallet in vegas and we spent two hours looking for it, he's beating himself up over it :(
 
I heard tons of people from smash 4 community want Bayonetta banned. I mean she is broken but LOL

Zero definitely the saltiest for deleting his twitter. Smash 4 is some good shit

Yeah, I'm primarily a Mahvel and Smash 4 player so it's pretty hilarious hearing some Smash players want her banned.
They wouldn't last a week playing competitive Mahvel 3 lol

Great as always (posted the recorded versions from ESPN above). He teared up as well at the end.

I heard Yipes and LI Joe were amazing in the arena.

Well it was pretty nice hanging out in here. In the IJ2 gaf thread there's barely any talk about competitive play so was nice coming here for the weekend.

Man havent watched SFV Top 8 yet. My bad. I probably would've cheer for Punk
 
For those that missed it due to the madness of this thread last night. SFV ended one of the best EVO's ever with 235,000 unique viewers across both Twitch and YouTube (ESPN2 numbers will be added later), making it the highest watched game at EVO 2017.

Gief, Cammy and Chun all were forced to change. Saw those EVO guys telling the players on stage something before they picked their characters. So silly. All these classic characters have had the same costumes for decades. Oh well.

my condition for sleeping last night was "if tokido gets knocked out, i'm out"

really glad i stuck to that, his Akuma is so entertaining to watch, and always has been

awesome to see an OG player still crushing with their main after all these years

I was also glad that he left that closed eyes meditation silliness behind.

He acted like his old self during the matches with all the smirks and excitement as in the old days. I honestly started thinking that he could win when I saw him acting like this.
 
I went to Evo in 09. I remember just walking in and claiming my seat for the final day. Probably about 750 people or so in the room. EVO has come a long way. Feel bad for Punk, but he'll get one eventually.
 
So tokido won sfv? I went to sleep.

I tried to watch on espn2, but they didn't use the full screen like a bunch of morons, so it was back to twitch. I'm not talking about just the news ticker at the bottom either. It was windowed like playing sf3 on xbox360. Wtf?
