John McCain to return to the United States Senate Tomorrow for Healthcare Vote

If this shitshow of a bill gets passed tomorrow, I truly hope McCain's legacy when he passes will be solely about his vote while on government subsidized healthcare to strip coverage from 10s of millions. He'll deserve nothing less.

for real though why is an eighty year old with brain cancer allowed to stumble out of hospital and vote on anything.

Right now think tanks are scrambling for the most "patriotic" and "enthusiastic" rallying cry behind McCain as the driving force to repeal and replace, cause you know, this guy dying of cancer came back to work to do a solid for the people.

Book it.

Hasn't he been saying before he was diagnosed that they need to work with Dems on a healthcare? It is that typical McCain talk?

So they’ll change it to the bill that just went down in flames? The same bill that the Senate parlimentarian ruled can’t be passed via reconciliation? Why do they think it’ll work this time?

It's either the BCRA or the repeal-and-delay bill from 2015 or maybe a surprise entrant like a WWE run-in or all three and more or...

The Senators voting on the motion to debate have no idea what they're voting to debate on.

Pres. Obama clearly knew it wouldn't be long before Senator McCain returned to work.

Cool. Use him as a prop to guilt the hold-outs into voting to strip millions of vulnerable Americans of their healthcare.

I dont think well of what he is doing either, but fucking hell at some of the posts in this thread.

Nobody here has any power or ability to effect McCain's condition even slightly.

Save your virtue for those who deserve it.

After the bill collapsed there was a wave of that sorta noise. I wouldn't read a single thing into it until the vote is done.

Oh no, people feel anger and malice at a guy literally crawling away from the world class healthcare he's been lucky enough to have access to in order to get to vote away even a resemblance of such a thing for literally millions of others in the country. So much for the tolerant left.

We all know how the maverick will vote. Don't think he has voted a no on anything since Trump became President.

Its probably going to squeak by with Pence primed and ready to break a tie.

Eh yes and no. McCain says a lot of things. It's not an indicator of him wanting to vote no. It's more, he would like to work with them once this passes, and golly whiz he sure will be disappointed if they opt not to. In that same interview McCain said that Republicans were not involved with ObamaCare. His motives are clear.

Actually now that I think it, nothing is more patriotic to the GOP than fuckin over poor people so he'd be lauded for his yes vote from the ghoul publications

Turns out some people are actually affected, possibly even medically or financially ruined by garbage policies that he keeps voting in favor of.

It’s almost as if politics is more than just team sports and actually has real-world, devistating impact. Hmm.

It’s not just the polite “we had our disagreements” sentiments like he’ll be eulogized by many in the political class. He’s actively making millions of peoples’ lives worse if he votes for this bill. If that’s not worthy of scorn I don’t know what is.

I mean he was president and still represents an entire party and millions even after office. He was never going to say what he is really thinking, the same way the Republicans in congress didn't call Obama a N***** publicly.

Could you imagine if they don't have the votes, they tell McCain to vote against the bill, but pretend like it was a mistake because of the brain cancer. That was they can try to use public sympathy to dismiss criticism of the administration's failure to pass bills.

How "brave" of McCain to risk his health to come deny health coverage to millions of Americans. Nobody say anything bad about him, it just wouldn't be polite.
