Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite Characters and Stages Roster |DT2| oh dear...

Captain Marvel/Gamora seems like it's going to be one the popular early teams. Maybe Captain Marvel/Frank West. Without traditional assists you have to rely on your solo options a lot more and Captain Marvel is pretty stupid in that regard.

Haha never saw this gif before.

I'm also not a fan of what Reality Stone in its current state does to the game.

This is a viable solution for only a small subset of players tbh. And if I reality xx tag and go in before it touches you, good luck with that perfect AG.

If it stays as it is, players will also need to figure out how to look for positive trades when the opponent uses it.

Pretty much. Figured out quickly that this game will possibly be really frustrating to newcomers after playing it a ton at E3/Evo/SDCC.

The more I started playing against Reality, the least effective it was. Powerstone is where it's at. Full body invulnerable hitbox boys, just 5ish frame startup.

Interesting tidbit from the SDCC panel:

This led to one of Evans' recount of his favorite story detail from the game, when "Gamora confronts Thanos to get an Infinity Stone," and she woos him "by saying ‘if Ultron converts everyone to robots, you can't impress Death, there'll be no one left to kill.'"

Is this the first explicit mention of Death being in the story mode? Not that there was much doubt but Death in the zip leak is probably.. Death.

The Reality Stone really just is a function of Sentinel, then.

The more this game gets shown off, the more its clear it's really SFxT2 and not MvC4.

Throws removing red life, chain combos, "make your own assist" w/ a tag, comeback mechanics w/ a dead partner, a gem/groove system. It'll likely be a good game but SFxT was really not a beginner friendly game and the beginner friendly aspects (specifically the chains) ended up really hurting the way the game plays because of how much it made whiff punishes the best thing possible. Maybe in a game w/ better movement, much higher damage scaling and without the stupid TTT KO system this won't be as big a problem.

The wallbounce does seem like a somewhat decent anti air choice for some characters but yeah, other stones are just way better.

holy shit your avatar lmao

also the real strength of reality stone is it not going away when hitting the point char, so reflect is whatever bc you just use it to fill the screen with bullshit and then run in front pressing buttons. it's vanilla phoenix's h fireball on demand except with less startup and recovery. it always trades in your favor even vs power stone activation

also nobody has said it yet but i'm like 90% certain that zero's lightning is reflectable. not 100% bc i only did it once and don't have the game to test it out but the situation where it happened was pretty clear cut when i did it

Yeah, I forgot to post that CBR link a while ago because I saw something I thought was interesting but I forgot about it now, guess I'll have to reread it.

No shit, raw supers do a ton of damage. Sniping 'assists' will also be huge in the game. You need to make sure you cross up the opponent in MVCI then tag, as it'll put your partner behind the opponent.

The URLY meta, is don't waste most of the 1 meter supers as enders unless it'll kill. Go for setup/mix or save it for tag breakers.

How do you (and others who have played the VS) feel about install supers currently?

Not as effective as previous titles because the install just chills in the back and there's no assists. X's doesn't really seem helpful outside of modifying his supers, but haven't played Dante.

Hope that changes tho. I really dig X's armor super.

x's armored up buster super being fast enough to reaction birthday fullscreen tags is gonna be a hilarious day 1 thing to watch as people realize that they instantly lose the game p much if they let themselves get hit by it due to how much damage it does + not scaling followup combo

astral and sogenmu are still good, sogenmu is literally better than marvel 3's for some fuckballs insane reason i don't understand

astral cant be used for keepaway anymore but there is no visual distinction between morrigan and her clone anymore (the clone has an imperceptible tiny sparkle that's basically only visible when shes neutral) so offensively its even more nightmarish to deal with

i dont know what binary mode does and i dont think anyone does and i never saw DT

x's seems pretty decent bc of above killworld situation alongside the buster charge improvement probably being a huge factor in the zoning war that will make up the meat of the game.

edit:
i forgot arthur was in the game so i didn't see gold armor either

I was kinda worried about how many projectiles you can fill the screen with, but once you get decent at PerfAdvGuards, it's not as bad. As soon as a Morrigan starts Astral'ing a ton of Soul Fists and you shoot them back at her just by holding down back with PAG, they usually stop.

yeah, reflect pushblock is super easy too since the window felt like 4-5f but i don't mean zoning war in the same sense of like, astral FB stuff/hawkeye/keepaway stuff. rather i more mean preventing the other guy from getting their projectile out and going in using it as a ghetto sentinel drone or beam->tag kinda deal.

that's gonna be another entertaining thing to see though, people trying to astral fb then go in behind the fb ala mvc3 instead of in front of it and getting popped into a conversion combo

People knew Reality stone was insane back in the EVO build.

Instant start up on the projectile and keeps coming at you like Phoenix fireball. Perfect for defense and offense. It doesn't matter how good the Storm for it is.

Max, what's your opinion on Thanos? Do you find him to be fun?

From what I see, he definitely looks a lot better than he did in MSH/MVC2.

He's crazy fun. 10 times better than the Bubble Chucker. Honestly, most of the new new characters are pretty great. Just wish there was more of them.

I really dig X's armor super.

Yo Max, would you happen to know if X's normal charged busted shot changes to the spiral shot from X1? I doubt they'll change the double shot super to that or change his armor to the X2 armor during that super given how much time is left before release, so I'm curious if they have the spiral shot in there somewhere or if it was just overlooked, perhaps out of convenience for X2's double shot.

I definitely think we will have some teams picking a stone for its surge instead of it's storm.

Which I actually am very okay with.

I feel like X'a super armor should logically change his weapon specials, like boomerang or ice. Because the full armor allowed you to charge to level 3 weapons in X1. Does it not do that in infinite? Maybe it lets you cancel 3 different specials instead of just 2? So instead of boomerang > ice it's boomerang > ice > flame uppercut

it doesn't

Nova is either Quasar or Adam Warlock.

Nova had a Quasar look in UMvC3, and it didn't really look like that.

Maybe its a Night Thrasher reference. They were both on the New Warriors.

Edit: Maybe Nemesis is a Regenerator. Its a stretch, but they're kind of blueish.

Boooooo!

Compare it to this! It's fun and melodic! The new one's just kinda generic and subdued. It's also obviously trying to crib on the Danny Elfman theme but not effectively at all.

Sandias on GFAQs made an image of the color swaps and what they might be referencing
I don't think that Gamora one is correct.
For some reason, the PS4 standard edition is unavailable to buy. Looks like they are canceling the game guys.
Just what everyone wanted!

If it was, I think the star symbol would be red or black, not white, unless they just wanted it to pop out more....hmm

And now you've got me all sad that Night Thrasher has no shot to be in this
any Marvel game really

I wonder who's idea it was to change the Marvel BGM's?

Anyone believe this was Marvel's doing?

Also, Zero, I hope my post didn't make it sound like I was saying MVCI's Spidey theme was better. I just meant it was easier to hear in the other link. Nothing will compare to the classics.

I feel like Marvel wouldn't care much about the music, tbh. It's such a weird point to go after that.

No worries, I didn't think you were defending it, and even if you were that'd be fine. I might not have articulated well what I meant with my post either. I've gone back and edited a bit.

It was definitely Marvel's doing. All of the Marvel side themes are now more orchestral and "cinematic".

So just like TVC in that respect. Not surprising. Its a given that if your super meter is attached to your breakers it results in meter saved for breaking and less supers. TVC, MK9, MVCI...its just how it works. Unless it kills it aint worth the risk.
