There have been countless people in these threads saying the lack of females is a huge problem with this roster. What threads are you reading?

The voting thread where there were at least 30 posters with lists without a single female character in them? Anyway, just forget about it. I don't see Capcom adding either any time soon, anyway.
 
I can understand where 7TH is coming from. There's been some talk where the roster isn't looked at as a whole in what it lacks. So you have people going 6 characters should all be these dudes I like. Forgetting we still only have 4 females (More than likely 5 with MonHun).

Though I can't say I agree about Menat. She kinda needs to prove her self a bit.

That doesn't mean it's a bro before hoes group going on. There's a lot of characters missing, and a loss of X-Men meant we lost a lot of iconic female characters as well.

And Menat, eh, she looks like she'd do well in a Marvel engine, and she's already well liked so she's already proven herself. Even if she ends up garbage tier in SFV it doesn't mean anything for how she would play in Marvel.

There was an irrelevant voting thread like a week ago. People posted a lists 12 characters they wanted to see. There were many lists that just had 12 dudes and most of them had only 2 or 3 female characters despite having 12 choices in total. But I guess I should have talked about "the fandom in general", specially since the sentiment of "I just want my Virgil/Doom/Wolverine" is more of a FGC thing, instead of "these threads" as the second sounds like an attack.

More than half of the posts in the thread didn't have more than 4 female characters despite getting 12 choices.

I mean characters like Vergil, Wesker, Wolverine, etc are HUGE fan favorites that should have been there in the beginning. The roster problems don't just stop at "lack at female characters" so you can't just say it's a BROS BEFORE HOEZ mentality when we were limited to 12 characters for a fan poll, jesus christ. If I voted that I wanted Wolverine, Doom, Deadpool back, does that mean I hate Storm, Phoenix, etc? It's a fucking poll.

And like I said I voted for Scarlet Witch and Roll. If I had more slots of course I'd want Storm, Phoenix, She-Hulk, Black Widow, etc.

It's a dumb argument.
 
What I'm getting at is that the complaints at the sausage fest are superficial and most people would be willing to sacrifice any female character for Vergil, Doom or Wolverine.

Seriously though I do hope they are better with dlc costumes for the whole cast compared to the shit show in sfv where the director picks his favorite girl for the year.
 
That's actually one of the reason I originally speculated that DLC would probably include very few female characters. Because they're not "fan favourites" or whatever.

I mean, my wish list from the other thread is entirely women, so idk.

They would probably sacrifice stuff like Nova, Arthur, Cap, Chris long before a female character so your assertions are very disingenuous.

Veterans are always huge fan requests to come back, this doesn't mean they have a "bros before hoes" mentality, smh. It's also not an either or situation, we'd want both. Lack of female characters is a problem. Lack of returning veterans is a problem. Just because more people want to see their favorite characters come back doesn't mean they don't also want female characters.
 
Tbh, for me the marvel women I care for falls off a cliff when the X-Men aren't involved. I suppose Black Widow and Scarlet Witch are cool, but neither of them are there for whatever reason. Scarlet Witch woould probs be cooler to play, tho.

Yeah and although I'm sure they could make Black Widow have an interesting moveset, I'm gonna want my MvC veterans to come back first and so are a bunch of other people. So you're gonna see people vote for the Weskers and such because they already have a playstyle in mind.

I can't speak for everyone but I don't care what's in between your legs (or skin color or whatever). I just want cool characters. This game is lacking cool characters.

And yes I'd get rid of characters like firebrand, Arthur, etc real quick before any of the females here.

I feel the same, many of the female characters I would like are X-Men or associated with them.

Yup. It's awkward. There is no slow zoom-in as if he grabbed someone and drag them toward to his face. Also it lack after effect. Just check UMVC3 video to see what I meant.

Also Spencer is awkward as heck!

His missile fire speed seems super fast now. Not sure if that will help since he typically just used it as a combo ender anyway. If you can tag out and have Chris keep auto targeting the opponent that would be OP. Can you tag out of level 3's?

It should work for non cinematic lvl3s. We only have like 5 of those in the game.


Who do people think will work well with the Soul stone? That stone seems like the biggest wild factor in the game.

High HP characters to maximize life usage? Insurance to protect hyper carry characters like Frank? When you resurrect you can back in the same state so a stocked up Dorm will come back with full stocks.

Maybe certain set ups with the Storm to create vortexes.

Maybe defensive teams who can weave in Surges into their zoning to get free life as the range on it is solid. Ghost Rider can cancel his whips into the Soul Surge as normals can cancel into surges (very good for in the air).

To be fair, Capcom did go with the female Hunter instead of the male one. And we've been on Marvel & Capcom's collective asses for the lack of females on Day 1.

Yep. Even if you ask people who their favorite female marvel characters are now most would answer exclusively X-Men characters. Until very recently I think only She Hulk was somewhat known, probably thanks to her association with her cousin.
Thinking about it I'm surprised they didn't bring her back, especially since Nova still sin't a thing (I think? Didn't watch GOTG 2).

We already know that Fox characters are in the pipeline according to Ryce. Unless Marvel up & decided to revoke that (which I doubt given Marvel rolling back the X-Men part of the ban), we'll probably at least see Wolverine added next year.
